Coachella 2014 weekend stay

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: They had a fridge and microwave for use. They also always had hot water.
Cons: tightening of the outlets. none of the outlets would hold the plugs in.
Location: Great location to get to Coachella, also close to Starbucks, In n Out, random banks, etc. Really good location.
Friends and I stayed here during weekend 1 of Coachella 2014. Honestly, it made us really glad we weren't camping because they had hot showers for all of us so that was a huge plus. They also had a fridge and microwave which was very helpful to have, I wish they had advertised that more but it was a nice surprise to find regardless. Relatively clean room, nothing to complain about much, I guess the headboards of the beds were a bit on the uncomfortable side but not a big deal at all. The biggest issue we had were with the outlets. Literally all of them were loose so it was hard to keep your items plugged, cheap suggestion: provide tape to your guests? haha. But other than that, everything was great considering how busy it was that weekend, obviously really pricey but understandably, we were really close to Coachella so that's a huge plus, you could easily uber over for around 10-15 normal rate one way. If I am planning on going to coachella or am making a referral, I would definitely suggest this place. :)

Poorly managed

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Nada
Cons: Change in ownership & management, remove "Royal" from the name-what's that about?
Stayed here for our visit while attending the BNP Paribas tennis tournament. Two days in a row, returned to our rooms after 12 hours at the tennis garden to find absolutely no cleaning service done. We were told both nights that this was very unusual. Was offered next morning to upgrade to a better room on my last night. I doubt they have any here. Management had excuses (new staff, etc). Maids complained that they were understaffed. Paid $144/night for a very plain room, no breakfast, only coffee in lobby, refrigerator/microwave in room, old TV set, adequate bed, pillow case had a stain (didn't see it till second morning, yecch). They did mail us a left behind blanket with reasonable postage paid by our credit card. I later spoke to a friend who was there later in the week and checked out after one night because his room in the "second" building was horrible with poor bedding. Stay away.

Good for the overnight stay. Clean bath room.

Acceptable for overnight stay. Oh! forgot to include the air condition which makes noises. When we first got in the room, first thing is to open the doors to let the smell out of room. A bit stuffy.

Stay Here If You Like Lots of Noise from Low Lifes

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Cons: Security, front desk attendance.
This is the worst hotel/motel I have stayed in, in a long time. The walls are so thin, I could make out what the people were saying next door if I spoke Spanish. There was an all night party next door with 10 people. At 4:30am, I tried to call the front desk, but there was no answer on several attempts. I would not have gotten any sleep except I had industrial style ear muffs with me. Beer bottles were all over the entrance of the building. This is a low life motel, nothing more. When I and another customer tried to check out in the morning, again there was no one at the front counter. I left after 15 minutes.

A port in the storm.

Location: The restaurant next door , Cactus Jacks Bar and Grill was good and poured healthy drinks.
Nothing much to say, except this "location" shows it's age and they are trying to offer a place for workers to stay. The lot was full of construction equipment and vehicles of workers. But did not hear a "peep" out of line.

royal plaza inn

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Rooms had a mini fridge and microwave.
Location: Gas station, supermarket, Little Caesars pizza, Chase bank across street, but any good restaurants you're looking at plan to drive 3-4 mile west
When I booked the hotel it was the only one available and closest to where I needed to go. Wouldn't stay if it was not a business trip. The room was not ready when I checked in at 4pm and check in was available at 3pm, took over an hour to clean the room. The air conditioning worked in the room but had a two way pipe, if you wanted heat you have to ask for a room heater. There was no iron or ironing board in the room so I had to deal with wrinkled clothes. The room service did not replace the in-room shampoo or bar soaps. Also the rooms had an old smell to it which does not go away with the air blowing and the balcony door open.

Cheap hotel in the Palm Springs area

Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: It was convenient to visit friends in the area
Cons: Cleaner towels, better service and decent amenities in the room
This hotel was a real disappointment. The rooms were rarely made up before 4:00 p.m. and even then I had to make my bed 2 out of the 5 days we stayed there. The soap was small and the shampoo in our basket had already been used by someone. The towels were sometimes dirty and were of very poor quality. The carpets needed vacuuming. There was an unusual odor in the room.

Poor hotel for the price

Posted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: Close to polo fields, free parking.
Cons: For the price it was a bad hotel.
No iron, no alarm clock, no hangers. TV old only had 3 channels. Initially we were given a room that someone else was in. Paint peeling.
