The branding/photos online make it seem a little more lux than it is. The rooms are cute enough. But pls note the walls are paper thin. I heard all my neighbours conversations and her several alarms (that went off at 4:30am!) However, it is the service that is my biggest complaint. They operate on a weird texting service if you have any questions. There's literally no staff. The woman that checked me in couldn't answer any of my questions and I never saw her again. There is no front desk in the lobby. It took me several calls and many texts to get an answer to a pressing question about my stay. I got a 'deal' when I booked at $200 a night but I've seen prices upwards of $400 a night for this place, which I would highly advise not to do. There are better hotels at that price point. Not bad for a pinch but definitely better branding than experience. And pls add coffee machine to rooms.

Pros: Very clean room, comfortable bed, Free parking, not necessarily walkable, but a short drive to downtown, Le Labo products! Cons: could not figure out the TV and how to add apps to watch Netflix. Not a huge deal, since we were barely in the room. You could hear people walking above you, but this didn't really bother us.

Life House has an extraordinary resort fee, $160 for two nights, but limited resort amenities. It has a pool but no hot tub or spa. I was advised by hotel staff to go to the Ace Hotel down the street for a hot tub and spa (and pay an additional fee there). The staff were apologetic, but many little things were missing from the room: tissues, a place to hang a long coat, a comfortable chair, a vanity kit. This is very frustrating in a place which cost near $450/night w taxes and fees.

Don’t let the bad reviews dissuade you!!! I’m not sure if previous reviewers were expecting the Ritz Carlton but this boutique hotel was wonderful for us! The room was super clean, staff was very kind and helpful. They did a phenomenal job creating a welcoming vibe, the design and details are stunning. Would absolutely stay here again!

LIKES: Stylish property. Great location. Beautiful mountain and valley views. Convenient parking. Comfy bed and pillows. Nicely appointed rooms. DISLIKES: The most excessive resort fee I’ve ever been charged anywhere I’ve ever stayed ($80). No free coffee. No coffee machine in room. No facial tissue/kleenex in room. Clothing rack/poll area for hanging clothes had a shelf in the middle of it so you can’t hang garment bags or dresses without them folding over. Auto sensor light in bathroom unable to disable permanently so when anyone in the room woke up during the night to use the bathroom, the bright light wakes you up and others.

Having "Royal Sun" on the property made it difficult to locate at first as we arrived at night and the "Life House" sign was not lit and was unaware of where to park or check in. Service was extremely slow at the pool and at the indoor dining restaurant. Other than this, everything was amazing and I would stay here again! Hope they iron out the kinks prior to summer when they will have plenty of guests to fill the location.

The rooms should have had final inspection before letting guests stay . There were quite a few things that were not satisfactory. The hotel had a totally different sign in front of building and the correct sign was broken. It is a converted motel turned into a hotel .
