Great Hotel With a Few QuirksPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Big rooms, modern design, self parking
Cons: AC controls in the room totally confusing and unusable
Big, beautifully appointed rooms and great location. Our room on the ground floor had no bug screens on the patio door/window and no security feature to leave it cracked open at night. This made the confusing and unusable AC controls even more annoying, since we were not able to keep the room at a comfortable temperature at night. Who needs a programmable thermostat with 15 buttons in a hotel room?

Large upgraded hotel - about 3 miles from town.Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Hotel is a hip, colorful and great for all types of travelers. The staff were all so friendly and very helpful.
Cons: I think the "resort fee" charged by the hotel should be done away with. You think your rate is one price and then at check-out you get this surprise.
Location: You need to drive, take the bus or hotel shuttle to really get close to any of the city spots.
This was a girlfriend extended weekend trip to see the "Modernism Architectural" tour. Hotel was a little far from town, but the city bus stopped right out front and took us everywhere we needed to go. Tinto restaurant (on-site) was great for breakfast or a cocktail - a little expensive for dinner. The pool was always busy, but lots of room for everyone.

Nice but not great for babies if bottle-feeding!Posted Feb 22, 2014
No complaints at all about the hotel but I just want to help other parents. The rooms don't have microwave ovens so we had to get room service to deliver boiling water regularly. Sometimes the water jugs smelt of coffee. One receptionist actually advised that we use the coffee machine to boil water to clean the babies bottles! The hotel doesn't claim to be particularly baby-friendly so I am not criticising them. I would still recommend the hotel to anyone who isn't bottle-feeding babies!

Thumping DJ loud awful music at poolPosted Feb 21, 2014
We were there for one night & itwas very good. My gripe is the incessant thump of the awful music at the poolside. The people around the pool ranged from elderly down to kids. The music was one loud continuous noise. It would be the reason that I personally couldn't stay there again. Breakfast was yummy.

Colorful Hotel in the DesertPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: I love, love, love the fact that there is complimentary yoga offered outdoors.
Cons: Both times I have stayed, it was difficult to find an elevator and I ended up walking up the stairs during my entire stay.
Location: Easy drive to many restaurants and stores.
I picked this colorful hotel for a girls' weekend with my daughter, who turned 10.

Deep into Palm SpringsPosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: it was a quiet night - perhaps 10% occupancy - so staff had time to visit and be friendly. Every thing clean, working order.
Property is long in the tooth, having been a howard johnson and another chain before recently being remodeled into early Las Vegas BRIGHT oranges, purples - colors of 1950's. Getting there was …interesting. GPS had correct addy, but routed us down back alley - almost retreated. The price of the room is not the price paid. There is a $25 resort fee on top. This feels dishonest- and I had a chance to discuss it with the GM. He explained that most Palm Springs resorts (he has to be a member) charge this way, was not trying to be dishonest, and refunded the fee. There is a hot tub, a yoga room, pool and bar/restaurant. These (and more) facilities justify the resort fee, but it still irked me the way the price-is-not-the-price.
