“Outstanding”
From start to finish the hotel and the staff were excellent at this hotel. It is not inexpensive but worth the money. Although booked online through Expedia it made no difference when we checked in or to the way we were welcomed or to the accomodation we ended up with which having read some reviews gave some concern prior to arriving at the hotel. Everything was great and would absolutely stay at the hotel again.
“Stylish yet friendly getaway in Palm Springs”
Depending on the weekend, staying in Palm Springs can be a vastly different experience, based entirely upon the other visitors with whom you must share your weekend. This was a relatively light weekend for tourists, which made the quiet and cozy feeling of the Viceroy ideal. Just enough people at the pool to make a few new friends or conversations, yet enough space to feel like you're on your own as much as you want to be. While this is an older facility that's been updated and heavily redecorated, and thus has a few shortcomings (older showers, for one), it also has character in both its Old Palm Springs feel (especially the lovely grounds, fun architecture and layout) and ambiance. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout our stay, and you can actually walk to a number of dining options (especially Melvyn's next door, always worth a visit). With three pools and numerous walkways around its well-groomed grounds, the Viceroy provides that total getaway feel once you're inside the gates. And despite all the attention paid to its Hollywood Regency decor, it's remarkably low-key and therefore ranks very high in that all-important quality of a getaway hotel: Our stay was, above all, relaxing.
“Not a 4 star”
We were very excited when we arrived for a girls trip, the valet and concierge was extremely nice and welcoming. We had a room right outside the adult pool which was even more of a plus. But the it we saw the tub, it was cracked and was so bad we all knew none of us would be "tubbing" in, showers only. We were too tired to as to switch rooms, so just went along.... Then I opened the fridge to find two cups with white gooey stuff in them...called immediately and I guy came to clean out the fridge, explaining it was old milked. Disgusting...they didnt even clean the room! Then we found a hair clip, a ring and open starburst in the room...apparently house-keeping just made the beds and left everything else! Hotel is old but they tried to cover it up with renovations which were sub-par. Walls are extremely thin so if you have loud neighbors, be prepared to lose sleep. I forgot my contact lens case so I put them with solution in a cup at the BACK of a shelf, surrounded with all of my bathroom stuff. House-keeping still managed to throw them out...very surprising since they didnt bother to clean the room before we arrived! Very disappointing. But thats not all...the same day my friend was blowing drying her hair and the electricity went out...3 times. Every time she called the front desk and they said they would send an engineer but he never came. We went out, enjoyed some great food outside the hotel and just decided to let it go and never come back.
“Posh but Relaxing”
It's a very nice boutique hotel with big comfy beds. The internet wifi was a little spotty but otherwise the hotel was wonderful. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to Palm Springs if you're looking for a nice relaxing hotel close to all the wonderful things Palm Springs has to offer this is your place!
“Great Relaxing Stay”
I wanted a few days away by myself without any worries or bothersome interruptions. And the Viceroy was the perfect place. With 3 pools & lovely grounds I could relax in the great heat quietly. Or if I wanted to go into town It was just a short walk away. The service was attentive and not disruptive. I really enjoyed my stay.
“Palm Springs getaway”
Truly charming and small(I personally enjoy the smaller hotel feel) with all the poshness and comfort a girl could possibly want. The hotel is walking distance from downtown and all the town's restaurants, bars, and shops.
“Highly recomment this Hotel”
clean, quaint, quiet, a bit secluded (but if you want total relaxation, then this is the place for you), homey. - with a big glass door, we could appreciate the montains from our room. It is very close to all restaurants, we walked, we don't have tobe concern about finding a parking or pay a Valet parking. There's night life here but it was very quiet, the view at night (with a full moon and stars) is fantastic. You can stay at the pool while sipping your cocktail or just stargaze and be in awe of this place. The rooms are clean and big. The king bed feel like you are sleeping on clouds. My partner and me love it. We are planning to come back and stay longer.
“If I'm coming to Palm Springs I'm coming back here”
If I would have never knew a place like the Viceroy existed maybe I wouldn't care. This place with it bungalow style rooms was one of the most memorable vacations I have ever been on. You don't have to leave just lock your self away and they will cater to your every need. The Viceroy staff is the best! Their food is awesome, drinks are even better. With three pools there is plenty of room to chill by the water with a server at the ready. Choose the bungalow rooms if you can it's like walking into an apt you wish you had, such a personal touch that when it time to leave you'll want to stay more. I recommend the Viceroy Palm Springs you won't regret the experience.
“Viceroy of Sunny Palm Springs : )”
Loved this place!! Came here on a last-minute and quick trip last week to get away from the orange county and los angeles gloom! Service was great, room was impeccable, the feel of the hotel was comfortable and warm. Sitting out by the pool and swimming in the pool was relaxing and I soaked in as much sun as I could before going back to the OC and LA. I would definitely come back for a stay again, it was a beautiful and memorable property. : )
“Great Location”
We had a great time at the Viceroy, loved being able to easily walk downtown, enjoyed the room and the pools. Maybe not the best place for kids, but our 7 year old camped out in the family pool and we met some nice folks. We had mixed luck with the restaurant, but their are lots of options nearby. The spa is extemely well run.
