Viceroy

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Hotel is small but perfect for quite relaxing trip...there is 3 pools all together....fyi ground gets really hot so make sure to your sandals in hand...massage services offered but make sure to book in advance. Good restaurants near by within walking distance but who wants to walk that heat. Overall had a good time, definitely recommend to my friends.

Perfect stay

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: This is a hotel for adults, not families, which totally suited my needs.
I can't think of a time recently that I was so perfectly satisfied by my hotel. The Viceroy was modern yet tasteful. The staff were hospitable and welcoming. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. And after having a few not so great experiences dining in Palm Springs- we discovered the best restaurant was right here in the Viceory! The food was a level above anything else we found. I highly recommend the watermelon gazpacho! Bliss.

Nice Boutique Hotel

Overall the staff was very nice, grounds were clean and maintained, pool areas are small but nice. Regular room is small would recommend an upgrade to a pool side room or villa if you can. Otherwise we had a very nice time.

Cons: Improve the check in time policy. Allow guests to check in at a more reasonable time, like every other hotel on the planet.
Beautiful hotel and grounds. But check in/check out policies are terrible. Check in isn't until 4:00pm. And check out is 11:00am the next day. We had to wait around for our room to be ready for two hours. And then they make us check out by 11:00am the next morning? We didn't even get 24 hours stay. At these prices its totally not worth it.

The Viceroy Very Much Needs an Update

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: The updated drink menu is fantastic. Most of the staff is really great and helpful. MOST, not all by any means.
Cons: Update Update Update. The food menu, the rooms, the pool area.
Location: Everything is nearby, you can walk downtown to eat, shop, people watch. All within walking distance.
I love staying here. The pool is the main attraction. There are a few, and designated areas for families lets the adults have a cocktail or two without having to worry about misbehaving in front of children. However, the floaters and pool chairs need a major update. They are beaten up, chewed up, and just old. The rooms need a little pick me up too. The one thing that really did bother me was that I had to send out a piece of mail and they charged me for the stamp. After all the money we spent there, you would think they would comp the client a measly $.49.

Staff makes the place

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Overall had a nice stay here but what particularly stands out for me was the staff. Everyone was friendly and attentive and made you feel comfortable. I like the neo-Baroque stylings of the hotel but there are some improvements to be made. For starters a lot of the furniture is starting to show its age. Not a big deal for me but worth mentioning. The upholstered bed frame in my room was gross. There's no luggage stand. The full length mirror is in the bathroom which is useless because after a shower it steams up. Speaking of the shower, the smoke detector is right outside the bathroom so if you try to air out the bathroom after a hot shower the steam sets off the smoke detector. I found the pool areas too small. There's not enough seating or shade for all the guests. This is simply poor treatment. This place seems to attract a party crowd which is fine depending on what you want.

Close to Downtown

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Small bathroom in our room. Not sure if you could expand the washroom but maybe add a vanity with counter space instead of the current pedestal sink??
Location: Great location for nearby restaurants and walking on the main street. Also a short drive to Outlet Shopping and a few Casinos!
Beautiful Hotel and within walking distance to downtown. My wife and I stayed at this hotel before about eight years ago,and other hotels in Palm Springs, and we choose to return to The Viceroy! Nice decor in room and bedding was great. Staff is great and service at poolside was great. Good food at the restuarant and prices are reasonable for Palm Springs. Also has a nice Spa so hey, if you don't feel like leaving the hotel grounds you have everything at your fingertips! Next trip to Palm Springs we'll be staying at the Viceroy! One downside was we did have a small bathroom in our room.

Reminds me of old Santa Barbara.

Hotel is clean and comfortable, but a little tired. Hated the wall air conditioner. The bed and pillows were the best. Very gracious staff and lovely grounds. Nice to be close to downtown.

Such a wonderful atmosphere. The landscape and pools are beautiful and it's so enjoyable to walk around the property.
