“Will return”

The staff was supper friendly and helpful. This hotel had great reviews, so that's why we tried it and wasn't sorry. It's close to food and shopping. Hoping to go back next year.

“Great value”

Beachcomber is a great value for those of us who can't afford the high-end high-rises. Just understand this is a 30-40 year old property and it show its age in areas. Our sleeper-sofa desperately needed replacing. Other than that the suite was clean, the staff extremely nice, and the views were awesome. I def recommend this hotel as we will more than likely be staying there again.

“no free wifi”

We were disappointed that you had to pay for wifi. The hotel description says it is available in the lobby. It was available if you used their computers in the business room. We did not want to pay $10 a day so we lugged our laptop all the way there on the airlines and never used it. There are a lot of hotels in the area and most offer it free in your room. The continental breakfast consisted of a muffin or bagel so we opted to eat breakfast out everyday. Other than that the room was adequate and had a small kitchen so we were able to fix meals there and saved money from not having to eat out every meal. The staff was friendly and the maid service was excellent.

Outdoors or beach

Don't be fooled by the nice wooden lounges on the beach. They do not belong to the hotel. If you sit down on one there will be a little fellow walking up and wanting $15-20 a day.

“Will go back”

This hotel was in a great location. Walking distance to food and shopping and is right on the beach. The price was great and the rooms were clean and had a balcony overlooking the beach. The mattresses were hard and the continental breakfast is not much at all. Other than that this is a great hotel for the price and I will definitely return.

“Spring Break Nightmare”

Well, we arrived at about 2pm and were surprised to find a lobby full of people. After waiting about 20 minutes to talk to the front desk employee, we were told our room was not guaranteed until 4pm. When we came back at about 330, the line was out the door. We waiting in line for almost and hour and after realizing it hadn't moved an inch, we left to get dinner and hoped it would be shorter upon returning. When we came back, it was actually longer. There were only two people working the front desk checking in huge parties of 10+ people extremely slowly. We waited for three and a half hours in line. After driving 13 hours the night before and staying up all day, we were all extremely tired and just wanted to take a nap before enjoying our visit. Well, when we finally get to check in, the lady informs us that our room is STILL not available. But she goes ahead and checks us in, a process that (for 4 people) took about 45 minutes for whatever God given reason. But anyways, we finally check in and don't get to our room until almost 9pm. It was a nightmare. We were all too tired to do anything, our beach plans for the day were ruined, and it was a horrific experience.

“February, 2012 can't come soon enough!”

Excellent place to stay. Beautiful pool and views. Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. They even helped us find a car to rent when none were available in the city!! Ocean is just a few feet away. Excellent area restaurants. Would definitely recommend, Can't wait to go back next year.

When to go

The month of February is the best. It is not crowded or busy. The weather is iffy this time of the year in the pan handle, but we encountered 75-80 degree days. Must go restaurants are Pasta Grill and the Breakers. If he is there in February, do not miss the Elvis show at the Breakers on Friday or Saturday night.
