Confusing reviews all make sense now!Posted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: It is located right on the beach, and I appreciated the amenities that the property offered (pools, restaurants, golf cart service to get around).
Cons: Offer pictures of the actual unit you want to rent (give me a choice) and clarify that this is not a hotel, but condos. Older units MUST be spotless.
Location: The location of this facility is fairly desirable. A short drive to the pier, restaurants, and shopping. Loved finding sand dollars on the beaches.
When I knew we would be attending an event at this facility, I went out to read the reviews left by past guest, but was somewhat confused, and frankly nervous. Some said it was fantastic and some said it was absolutely TERRIBLE. After our visit, I now understand. This is an enormous complex of condos (high rise and villa style accommodations). These condos are owned and, in some cases, occupied by individuals and, in other cases, rented out on a short and/or long term basis. So, the unit you get could be 30 years old and may never have had any updates done to it; or you may get a rental where the owners have completely renovated their unit. In our case we got an very old unit that had not been updated in a very long time; having said that, it was pretty clean considering it's age. Another couple we knew stayed in one that was actually renovated and newly furnished: It was beautiful! The unit we had (a villa on the golf course side) provided a fully stocked kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, washer/dryer, etc., but just felt very dated. Because we were there for a specific function, we only stayed three days, but I can see where a condo like this during a longer vacation would be ideal (cooking, laundry, separate bedrooms). I would consider returning to the property IF I could be assured of an updated unit.

Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
Cons: EVERYTHING. CUSTOMER COURTESY AND CLEANLINESS OF ROOM.
First thing when we checked in we got hit with an additional $145 "cleaning and damage" fee which was not disclosed to us in the beginning. AND it was non-refundable. When we got to the room the fee we paid had definitely not gone to the cleaning. There was dust and filth everywhere. It was disgusting. One of the dirtiest rooms I have EVER stayed in. The furniture was old and outdated and was filthy looking. None of the remote controls to the TV's worked and we could not wait to get out of there. We complained to the staff and they had an "I don't care" attitude and when we told us about how dirty and damaged it already was when we got there they told my husband "sorry but you've already paid for it". Which did not set to well with him. We will NEVER stay at the Edgewater again. Needless to say we went down the street to another establishment which was fabulous. The rooms were clean and neat and hotel staff was exceptional. Edgewater could learn some valuable lessons from the other establishment such as cleanliness and customer courtesy. My husband and I take pride in where we stay with our family and expect for the amount of money we pay to be completely satisfied and not feel worried about dirt and grime. We couldn't leave the Edgewater fast enough. Bottom line: RUDE EMPLOYEES and a DISGUSTINGLY FILTHY ROOM. Two thumbs way down!!!!!

Unwanted quest...Posted Nov 11, 2013
Room was very nice except for the dead lizard in the living room. Called front desk upon on arrival to advised of the unwanted quest, she stated that housekeeping would be over, 3 days and 3 phone calls later, lizard was still there. I also felt for the cost of cleaning, housekeeping can take the trash out.

Not bad but hidden fees.Posted Nov 10, 2013
I enjoyed the property, the landscaping was nice and the villa was comfortable and well appointed. Really enjoyed having the washer and dryer in the villa. I was surprised by additional fees that were not listed in the fine print but this seems to be expected with this type of rental.
