Thank you for staying with us. I am guessing this review is relative to a note I found in our communication log about you being "lied to about breakfast". We publicize a complimentary continental breakfast (that exceeds Red Roof standards) from 6am-9am daily. Im not sure what your travel agency rep told you when you made your reservation with them. Thanks for the opportunity to clarify things. If there is something else I need to know, feel free to pass that along. Safe travels.

Good Stay
This was a nice stop as a midway stopover for a road trip from Dallas to Fort Lauderdale. The room was comfortable and staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional. The location of the motel was not too far from the highway and had gas stations nearby. I'm not sure I saw too many restaurants in short proximity.

I pay little attention to poor reviews from guests who have been evicted from my property and are on our Do Not Rent List for (1) having unregistered people on property, (2) doing damage (we did not charge for the broken toilet, you are welcome), (3) smoking in a nonsmoking hotel, and (4) having to chase them for hours to pay a bill because they left all their belongings in their room and left the property. I'll take the "1", Zero.

Dirty. Overall unclean room. Blood spots on bed sheet and upper part of shower. Small roaches crawling on floor near kitchenette, bathroom, and even on the ceiling. We have pictures of everything. People drinking beer and smoking right outside of office but office encourages it by putting "smokers outposts" right by front entrance. Grungy place overall.

The housekeepers are so noisy in the mornings and ignore DND signs. Towels are old and do not dry you off. The lack of ventilation in the rooms leaves everything wet and sticky. Overall the service was okay. No one went out their way to greet you but were not rude. Shady people unpacked their RV in the parking lot and I tripped over the extension cord running from the building to the RV. Pretty sure this was parked illegally and made me feel very unsafe. I do recommend changing the mop head when washing the floors in the lobby. The mop head all week was sour and left a death smell in the lobby after breakfast.

Thank you for staying with us and taking time to comment. Our bath linens are purchased monthly and we go through a surprising amount of them due to damages inflicted by guests. The PTACs in rooms are rated for the square footage of the rooms. Only if a PTAC setting is changed will a room seem musty or damp. We find often guest have them on fan, but not the air conditioning function which cools and dehumidifies rooms. Generally a call to the desk and we send someone to the room to check and it is taken care of. Just because a guest has a "third wheel" trailer in a parking lot with an extension cord, it doesn't make them shady. We also have people here whose homes are being worked on post hurricane Michael and their lives travel with them. Also, please consider in this heat guests come to us because it is too hot to camp. The mop heads are washed daily in the commercial wash machines. Also we have a stone floor so any odor had to be coming from elsewhere. As for our staff, they should be welcoming and friendly at all times. That of all things I find disappointing. I will chat with them and remind them. Housekeeping staff should work quietly and should always honor DND signs. If you have any other questions by all means let me know.

We checked in late at night, and we had the most pleasant and helpful hotel staff! I unfortunately didnt catch her name but Red Roof has a real gem!! Hotel was well maintained and so was the breakfast. Would absolutely stay again.

Red Roof PC FL
I travel around the United States a lot. All for business and a few for pleasure. This trip was for pleasure for my family. After finding a Hotel with a pool and booking it, Red Roof Inn Panama City, FL, I reached out through email to the Red Roof Inn asking if I could check in early. Well I never got a response. Two days prior to showing up that is. Disappointing but not a game changer. Problem: When checking in I was told just a minute so HE could answer a phone call. The phone call was about a customer trying to cancel his reservation! Hmmm.. I’m a customer that was trying to sign into your establishment, not trying to get out of paying for establishment. Hmmm.. 5 min later! We started the process. He tells me he needs my ID and I give him my VA ID on which I use a lot at Red Roof Inns, and he tells me he can’t use that! I tells me that it’s a Red Roof Inn policy! I tell him that it was not a problem at the other 13 times I used it across the United States! I do not think it’s a Red Roof Inn policy. He then told me that it was a on site policy and I gave him my DL. Shame on him for saying that. Bullying is not well like across America. Zero tolerance. The room itself was not the one shown on its advertisement that I prepaid for. The room was dirty. Dirty in the way of food on the walls, floor not cleaned and the bed comforter had stains on it. As far as the other service members, maintenance, morning desk, morning cafe were great people.

As for early check-in, no hotel can promise, that, but if asked via email, you should get that in a response. As for ID, yes we do request and prefer a drivers license, with an address on it. It is important in many instances our guests may not understand. I, like all of our desk clerks often have to answer the phone while checking people in. It isn't mean to be a slight and permission should be asked. There is no excuse for a dirty room. Can you help me and provide the name your reservation was held under so I can see if a room was changed in our computer (staff cannot hide things in a computer) and who cleaned your room. I have no issue addressing shortcomings but I need info. Anything you have would be helpful. Safe travels.

The room had an extremely musty smell. The window didnt open so I couldn’t get any fresh air. The property was a little run down. Breakfast very limited. Would not recommend this hotel.

As for the property it was renovated floor to ceiling after Hurricane Michael 5 years ago. May I ask what was run down? As for breakfast Red Roof standard is a continental and we offer more than the standard. We do not advertise a full hot cooked breakfast anywhere. Sorry for that confusion. Do not get put in room 100!!
The hotel itself seemed ok along with the employees however the room we were put in was not. It was dirty and had bugs crawling around on the floor and walls. The sitting chair was covered with some sort of debris like rolling tobacco or someone had set their bag on the ground and then the chair. The bath towels had long hair stuck in the fibers and the provided bath soap was mushy. The room had a horrible fragrance smell as in trying to cover up something else (smoking). Some of the walls had prior water damage and you can tell it was not professionally fixed. The furniture, floor and headboards appeared to be newer though. We stayed in room 100 so I am not sure if the floors up above were in better condition. I am highly disappointed because this hotel was rated 8.2 on your website and our room was far from that. Definitely would not stay there again.

Not bad for the money
They set up the smoking station right next to the pool. Not real smart when there are mainly kids in the pool. The key entries need updating. Had a hard time getting the door to open and it wasn’t just my family. Mislead about our room after we thought we booked a room with a kitchenette in it only to open the door and see a dorm sized refrigerator, or stove. Asked the manager he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about and lied to me saying all the rooms have that size refrigerator in them. We passed a couple of rooms and noticed they very much did exist. The maids were very sweet and were always working hard to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast wasn’t that bad. Need other options for fruit besides bananas.

My room was infested with roaches. I got in late Friday night and there were roaches all over the bathroom. They were up the walls by the sink and around the door. Then when I threw the covers back they were in the bed and on the pillows. I was so disgusted. I had to go get spray and remove all the bedding. It was to late to find a new hotel, and they were supposed to refund me some of my money back but it still hasn’t come. I will never stay there again, and would not under any circumstances refer anyone else. I slept with the lights on the entire night because I was so uncomfortable and my three-year-old was scared to sleep in the bed.

There are no excuses for what you experienced. I apologize again for it all. You deserved better and we failed you. As you paid an online travel agency (expedia), they refund your money. We refunded the card they paid us with already. If they have any questions, they usually call the hotel for confirmation.

When that fails we hope other guests contact the front desk so we can reach out to the owners (we can't always know). If they cannot get the situation under control we may ask them to leave. This hotel should not be rated an 8 overall. The furniture needs a big update and the hotel and area in general is just okay. If you are using the rating system it is 6 at best.
