Nice hotel but terrible parking

Posted Aug 5, 2014
The hotel overall was really nice. But, the parking deck is a nightmare!!!!! We came in a truck and trying to get in and out of the parking spaces was horrifying!!!! I would recommend the hotel to a friend but suggest they drive a small car!!!!!!

Great Location - Poor extra cost

Posted May 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The stay was great except since we did not book throught the hotel itself we had to pay $25 a day to use the pool and have access to the beach. We had to use Pineapple Willy's access because I was not paying the extra $25 a day.

Good location

The resort was in a great location with beach access and priced accordingly. The overall cleanliness of the resort and room was lacking. I would stay there again if the price is cheaper but for the money I would stay at on of the hotel chains located close by and utilize the public beaches

Great location, nice place, a little hassle

Posted May 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
My husband participates in the Gulf Coast Half Iron Triathlon, and this is the 2nd year we've stayed at Shores. The location is very close to transition and the finish line. I believe the Florida Ironman takes place at the same location. We had 2 inconveniences during our stay. First, they hold a driver's license in order to use a luggage cart and do not allow you to park in front of the lobby. Because it wasn't peak time, security allowed us to use a spot off to the side on the first floor of the deck. Otherwise, you'd have to park in the deck, hopefully near the elevator. The other item that really frustrated us was the amenity wristbands. These have to be purchased directly from Shores on site. Because we booked online, effectively through a different agency, our wristbands were not included. No access is permitted to the pool, the beach, the gym or any other amenity unless you have these wristbands. We found out the hard way when we tried to re-enter the resort off of the beach. The rates are based off of the unit size, and it's a per day charge. So, you pay the same per day rate if you need two or ten wristbands. If you rent directly through Shores, the wristbands are included. Regardless, not a huge deal but a hassle, nonetheless. The 10 a.m. check out time was a bit of a pain but understandable. Expect housekeeping to start knocking on your door around 9:45, maybe earlier. Happened both years we've stayed there.

Didn't like the initial condo given, but after returning to check-in was given a great location. Clean and didn't encounter any issues.

Nice Condo w/additional fees

Nice place but there is $140 cleaning few in addition to the hotels.com price. Additional charge for use of amenities (i.e. pool) as well. Nice view of the ocean and a good location.

Spring break nightmare

Posted Apr 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Nice resort but we are in our sixties and should never have gone in April. Lots of shlinanagins and screaming by the spring breakers. We will never go back.
