Disappointing

Posted Mar 2, 2015
The hotel is family owned and the daughter, a sweet girl proved to be of fine assistance, as did the other family members. But overall the lodge was rather depressing, with a dark and windowless dining hall/room, a very uninviting and unkempt back yard, very limited hot water usage (about 1-2 minutes) and paper thin walls that made it seem like one was sharing a room. Perhaps even worse, the fact that one must acquire a key to the outdoor when one seeks/wants to exit the house or go outside, which in this case, means giving up your room key and having to wait sometimes just to get the outdoor key, is something I have never experienced before in all my years (35) of shoe-string and non shoe string travel. It all makes for a very confining and I would even say, debilitating experience, one that begs the question for any budget traveler: why stay here when there are muchos hotels at the same price that clearly exceed in worth the atmosphere of this hotel?

Familiäres Hotel in bester Lage

Posted Feb 18, 2015

not in a good area

I would not suggest you stay. There were no towels in our room. They served corn flakes and hot dogs for breakfast. Enough said.

Pros: Nice breakfast in the morning and great coffee.
Cons: The bed is OK. but desperately needed are new pillows.
The hotel is OK for the price. Good location, close to restaurants. Staff very nice and friendly. The room can use some up-dating. The bed is OK. but desperately needed new pillows.

We would like to remember that each room at the Autograph@ is a dedicated art piece by local iron sculpture Matildo Escudero, he hand crafted each piece it is at the room, those pieces are the bed, the bedhead, the lamp, the chair and the computer desk. Each room has a art movement as the key access label. Each room is custom made by the artist. The Autograph@ Lodge in Panama City is dedicated to the art movements of the XX siecle. Realism, In-formalism, and the remaining rooms are the artist expression on the Iron pieces. We thank you for bringing to our attention the status of the pillows, we will ensure that a new set of pillows will replace those available at the hotel, if you feel that you need additional pillows, towels, or else, please do not hesitate to lets us know, we are here to serve you and to make your stay at comfortable as possible.

Nice staff, but annoying procedures for the key

Posted Nov 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very helful staff, and the room was big and clean. Breakfast was very limited, but served for you. It was served from 7 am to 9 am, meaning that you had to get up for that. You had to hand in your key when leaving the hotel, and you would get a key for the front door, which you had to unlock and lock every time, very annoying. Only 2 parking spaces belongs to the hotel

Thank you for letting us know about the issue with the TV, we promptly reviewed it with the technician and we currently replaced the flat TV 32" set, so there is no problem. The Autograph@ is set on a classical Panamanian hill, and due to the position of the property there are several sets of 3 stairs spread across the property, not sufficient to have elevators, but they are easy to get around. The outside garden is growing, we already had collected oranges, coconuts, papayas, Chinese oranges, cacao, bananas, as well as some baby tomatoes, and some Panamanian chiles. all these surrounded by paradise flowers, and hummingbirds, squirrel , falcons, and red and blue chested birds, with the morning chores of the green parakeet,

Excellent basic hotel with everything you need

Posted Nov 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The exceptionally freindy staff who help you in any way they can makes ths basic but very comfortable hotel a must for the budget traveller. Near great restaurants but away from the noise of the main tourist areas, the area is very safe. A big breakfast that varies everyday is just the 'icing on the cake'.

As every day we try to improve our services, we found that most of our guests would like to taste the flavors of the south American cuisine, so we decide to honor those classical breakfast of the American Continent. Each day we serve a different country, and despite the challenges of sometimes we cannot find all the ingredients, we strive to please everyone of our guests likes. We thank you for the opportunity to be at your service.

And for those who like Sports we are at 100 meters away from Roberto Durans "hands of stone" restaurant, he usually comes around to meet their patrons on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, it is a great person to hang around with.
