Nice hotel in the center of town

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Good value
Cons: Welcome drinks were unexpected and then they were not that good.
Location: Nice central location, lovely to walk around and get a feel of the town. Traffic is bad.
We were upgraded because we were Expedia VIP members. The room was great and very comfortable. We only stayed one night as it was a stop-over on our travels, but we would stay here again if need be.

Excellent location at an excellent price

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Price, nice staff, and location
Cons: See above
Location: Casinos, restaurants, Presidential Palace (Metro and a 15-minutes walk), Pacific beaches (Metro and 10-minute walk), canal, and more.
Staff were wonderful and pleasant, speaking both Spanish and English. Within a two- or three-block walk you can dine in Colombia, Switzerland, Japan, China, Panama, Italy, and more. I have two areas of improvement regarding the staff, however. First, more attention should be paid to the pool and gym area regarding guest towels. One or two towels a day do not last very long. Two, staff is too quick to suggest a taxi. Located two blocks from the brand new Metro (Estacion Iglesia de la Carmen), staff seemed unfamiliar with its stations and how to use it effectively. For example, rather than a $20 (one way) cab ride to Miraflores to see the canal dock, take the fast and air conditioned $.35 Metro to Albrook station (last stop) and use the crossover to the main bus station and catch the $.35 air conditioned modern coach directly to Miraflores lock. Like most Metro lines in the world you buy a card from a machine and use it to pass through the gates at the Metro and use the same card to ride on the bus. Total cost: $1.40 round trip vs. $40.

Pros: Nice big rooms--we needed to add a roll away and they brought it right away. Nice rooftop view of the city!
Location: Easy walk to lots of restaurants and the metro.
Breakfast was excellent! Rooms were clean and huge. We enjoyed being on the roof sitting at the tables there and playing cards.

Good, hotel, excellent staff, English speaking.

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: The staff
Cons: washcloths
Location: a lot to do and see. Close to Hop-on, Hop-off bus pick up. Canal route was fun. Bus is at Hotel Panama, 1.5 blocks away.
Close to metro station and shops, restaurants and casinos. The room was comfortable...good beds and pillows. Staff was very attentive, English-speaking, and helpful. This location is safe for walking, even at night. The complimentary breakfast was prodigious, meat, eggs, oatmeal, fruit, waffles, excellent coffee and juices, cereal, yogurt, potatoes, etc.

Bolivia hostel like hotel in santa cruz

Posted Nov 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
To be fair, I lost my reservation information and didn't have immediate access to email when I arrived. They tried to be helpful (spanish only as far as I could tell) but their handwritten notebook of reservations didn't have my name so I pay for the night's stay out of pocket. It's more of an overpriced hostel with separate rooms. Internet didn't really work from my room (screens on doors and extra thick walls. I arrived around midnight and left at 9am the next morning. I don't have another hotel experience in Bolivia to compare it too, so maybe this is normal (I think it was around fourtee american dolars a night). Neighborhood was a little sketchy, especially at night, but actually normal for the area (about 2 blocks from the very central part of town) and wo

Biggest Criticism? . . .The elevators are too slow

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Pros: I liked that the floors are uncarpeted. Much cleaner. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed with all the amenities.
Cons: Only the elevator, as they're slower than most.
Location: Trt the Pomodoro Cafe, about two blocks away. Great Italian food for reasonable cost. Artisan tables, some Kuna, are nearby across from the Veneto.
Absolutely great value. For $63/nt.(plus taxes), the hotel and rooms are clean, staff pleasant and helpful, comfortable beds, and the rooms are huge with a suite, allowing for a partner to to sleep undisturbed. Large showers, coffee maker, complimentary breakfasts (with lots of variety, even fresh waffles). Well located in safe downtown with great restaurants around. Be sure to use fluent cab-driver Alexandro, who usually parks across the street.

Bom hotel

Posted Oct 29, 2014
