Good Hostal near of Casco Panama

Posted Sep 18, 2014
Pros: Enviroment , the staff , the service , everything
Cons: Decoration , floor
Location: Shop . Eat , walk around
The environment of the hotel is great. There is a bar and restaurant in the lobby that are good. The only downside is the comfort of the beds and the shower but no big deal. The rooms are a nice size, just a little outdated. The location of the hotel is great. The Manager or the boss ¨i do not know ¨ was exceptional!!!! Only Cons : The floor is the ugliest thing i ve ever seen.

Great Hotel

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Everything, staff , management , rooms
Cons: Painting
Location: supermarkets , chinos
We stayed at this hotel in April 2013 and found it very pleasant and had to return this year on our visit to Panama. The hotel is located in a bad location , however you can walk to many locations, using Balboa Avenue, and casco antiguo which is very safe, there are supermarket close by and their free shuttle buses to the mall and from the airport. It is not the most beautiful hotel in Panama that I ve stayed but Its the best about workers... Great Management and Great Staff... It´s very clean

Cons: Better, warmer lighting at night!
Very centrally located in the old city. Do arrive during day time to get comfortable with the neighborhood and the hotel, because both can look pretty scary at night. White neons, bare walls, scarce decoration. This is a YMCA type accommodation, not more. But the staff is very friendly and I had no problem during my one night stay in the hotel and walked around and enjoyed the old city during the day. Note I was a women by myself.

Pros: Comfortable, clean, cheap, qualified staff, family and really nice treatment, very good environment.
Really I don't have any negative comment about hostal Goce, really my experience was great, clean and big rooms, comfortable, close from restautants, shopping, even behind of it we could find a big supermarket. Everyone is nice and the Boss of hotel really make a big effort for everyone has the best stance in the place.

GREAT place to be stuck for Holy Week!

Posted Apr 20, 2014
I could not have asked for a better hotel. This is my favorite hotel ever so far. Fabulous, kind, helpful staff. Clean rooms with a fridge, an A/C, great water pressure, and the most comfy bed I've ever slept on in Central America. Or Mexico, for that matter. Internet was awesome. Area is a poor neighborhood, but doesn't matter because you walk 3 blocks and you're in beautiful classic downtown Casco Viejo. We are NOT city people, we are country mice ;), and to get stuck here for Easter weekend was the best place in Panama City that we could have been stuck.

The hotel is more like a hostel.

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Staff was courteous and trying to help, but couldn't speak English. Common area was bright and spacious.
Cons: hot water. wifi. elevator. a little English.
Location: People told us not to go down the street even tho we were just going back to the hotel. It's just 200' down from a square but is considered dangerous.
We booked a room for 3 (myself, husband and son) with Expedia. When we got there, after waiting for them to clean the room, they showed us a room with a double bed only. We told them we need 3 beds, so they said wait, and we waited again. Then they showed us to a room that's bare bone with nothing but 2 single beds put together to make a big bed, and a bunk bed. There were pillows and sheets on the beds, and 3 towels and 3 bars of soap. Then nothing else. No table, chairs, TV, lamps, aircon (room was hot), window. oh, there's a light in the ceiling. So we went back to tell them the room was no good. They said wait again, and used phone translation to show 'solution'. The receptionist English was not good. Then a lady came by (dressed very well, don't know if she's owner or friend or customer) and translated that they will put a bed in the first room for us, and it was fine even though the room was small, but it has aircon, and TV (even tho not working due to "rain"), tables and nite tables/lamps. It was more bearable. no hot water though. Wifi signal was weak. No elevator in hotel. so have to take luggage up by yourself. It sounded like a 400 lb person was walking around in the room above us and also dragging furnitures around. it was incredibly noisy. The hotel is closed to the old quarter and the busy street market. However the street the hotel is on, both the taxi driver and passerbys tells us that it's dangerous to go down
