Nice & Fancy Hotel in the CityPosted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: City View at nights from ocean view room.
Cons: Overall Concierge services.
Location: Accessible location within walking distance of MultiCentro Mall which is a stop for hop-on & hop-off tours. Taxis to within city is $5.00 or less.
Le Meridien Panama is a great hotel but the staff service is less than expected: front desk staff did not always return calls with information as promised; Concierge didn't know time of train to Colon when there is only one train departure Mondays through Fridays at 7:15am and returns same at 5:15pm; but overall the hotel overlooking the ocean is in a safe and accessible area for catching taxis or walking to MultiCentro Mall from which you can ride the tour bus to Albrook and MultiPlaza malls.

my only choicePosted Jul 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
great hotel, great location. my only choice when staying in Panama city. walking distance to several upscale restaurants. Friendly bi-lingual staff. opt for the upgrade and pay the little extra for the premium suite, its worth it..

Nice hotel in the centre of PanamaPosted Jun 3, 2013
When we checked in they put us in the wrong class of room (standard rather than executive). We called and they not only remedied it but upgraded us. The only problem was that the next day we had similar problems - we couldn't get information on the executive services as they thought we were not supposed to receive them. Fixed in the end but my girlfriend was a bit upset after talking with them. We have stayed here every weekend for 3 months and out of the 6 hotels we tried in Panama this was the only one we continued to stay at. Overall great staff and I'd recommend to everyone! Especially Sandra at the bar and Reynaldo at the door.

A GREAT LOCATIONPosted Apr 1, 2013
Pros: The Location and the staff
Cons: International calls too expensive .
The location is excellent. The hotel is close to nice restaurants. The staff is very nice and the rooms are very clean. Our stay at the Meridien was great. If we ever come back to Panama, we will certainly go the Meridien again.

excellent business hotelPosted Mar 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is excellent. Good food, great service, wonderful views, fine business location. The neighborhood is a bit dull, but so is most of downtown Panama City. The access to the former Canal Zone (which I needed for my business) is excellent. The food, both in-room and at the restaurant, is wonderful. The safe in my room did not work, but management rapidly replaced it. The waterfront park is great for strolling and taking a run. My only advice to travellers is (1) the hotel only occupies the first five floors of the building, so don't expect rooftop views, and (2) you have to walk a few blocks in order to safely cross Avenida Balboa to get to the waterfront park.
