You get what you pay for...
the room was adequate, however the early wake up noise and late night arrivals would echo throughout the hallway making almost a nightmare to get any quality sleep. The airco was leaking and not working properly, the water was turned off due to plumbing work being done at 10 pm, no shower to be had the following day and toilet unflushable...front desk was very polite but we would not stay there again...

Not even closer to the hotel description
First when we got to the hotel they told us that we got a double room which meant we were going to share a bathroom. I told the person in the front desk that we needed a private room as in the description it never said that it was a shared bathroom, he told me that i needed to pay 10 dollars extra to get a private room. We paid the $10 dollars. At first the air conditioner was cooling but after an hour it was licking alot of water and not cooling. I went to the front desk and the person came to the room and told me to turn to heat for a couple of hours so the ice could defrost. It was extremely hot. I turned it on again and the same thing happened. Horrible experience.. breakfast is served at 8am which means most guest are gone by that time. Totally will NEVER recommend this place.

Good budget stay in a good location
I spent 4 nights here and enjoyed my stay. I stayed in the maracuya room, a single room located in the front of the building, with a big window. There are actually 2 rooms in the front, both with big windows, and these 2 rooms share the bathroom. My room was clean, the bed was comfy, and it had a good A/C. The shared bathroom was big and clean. Breakfast each morning varied between eggs, bread or arepas, jam & butter, cheese, ham, and fruit. Coffee and juice are always included. The staff here was also very nice & friendly. The B&B is in a good neighborhood in San Francisco & it's easy to catch a taxi from here, though I used Uber quite a bit instead. It is also right next to a really good restaurant/bar, Montaditos 507, where they serve delicious little appetizer-size baguettes/sandwiches & arepas. It is open late so it's very convenient when you want to grab a bite or grab a few drinks and not have to go far. Sometimes though, especially when a game is on TV, it can get a bit loud, so you can hear the noise in the front rooms, but it really wasn't too bad, esp. since they're only open until 11pm. And right next to the restaurant is a great dessert place, PalettAmerica, for some gourmet type popsicles/palettas! Having a comfy place to stay for a good price in a good location, next to good food & dessert was perfect.

Never could find the place
After searching for over an hour, we gave up and stayed at the Marriott. The gps couldn't find it, we stopped 6 times and asked 8 different local people, and even though we were on the correct streets, no one had heard of it. Several people offered to call the place, but there was no phone number. EVERY Expedia listing needs to have gps coordinates because many cities have poor signage. Expedia owes us for 2 nights. AND on this survey, there's no way to change the star rating, so I had to agree that it deserves 3 stars. We will never use Expedia again. They have not responded to my complaint.

We did get to stay at this hotel. The hotel cancelled us as they were overbooked, they did offer another one of their hotels but it was not in a location we wanted to stay.

While the breakfast was good and staff helpful, nothing else measured up. No electric outlets or lighting by the bathroom mirror, a toe stubbing tile uplift to get to the bathroom, a plastic toilet lid, and small rooms left much to be desired.

Under renovations, but quiet at night. Close to gorgeous mall with chain stores. Everyone was pleasant. Felt safe.

The room was clean and ok for overnight there. We had a privat Bathroom, aircondition und and a TV in the room, but no window or any place to put our clothes and stuff.

Simple. Modern. Recommended.
Mediterranean Dreams was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful (and bilingual) and there was a nice breakfast each morning. I would definitely recommend it if you're headed to Panama City.

very basic there are better options around

The hotel is very small but has everything that a big hotel can assist you with. My room was good and the washroom was okay. Everything worked. Location was good for my dealings in the city. Has a restaurant and a breakfast bar in house. There are several cafes and a big mall within walking distance. Also lots of restaurants close by and in the mall.

Simple place at a very reasonable price. If you get what you pay for, this is a very good deal. Location was surprisingly convenient with easy walk to major shopping center and doable walk to city center. Breakfast was fine.

The hotel was great! Raquel and the staff made us feel at home from the very first moment.Great location..just 10 minutes walking to the Multiplaza mall. Very recomended!

Great value
This was more like a hostel than a hotel, but it's a cute little place and the price was excellent. The room was clean and the staff were absolutely lovely. It's not particularly close to any of Panama city's main attractions, but the neighbourhood was safe and there was a mall and eating establishments nearby. My only criticism is that the room I stayed in was literally 6 feet from the reception desk and lounge area, which meant that it was a bit noisy at times. Great value overall.

Mediterranean hotel
The hotel is centrally located. It is very close to the metro plaza mall, this mall is huge! The restaurant next to the hotel had wonderful seafood dishes at a reasonable price. The hotel Mediterranean is a very basic hotel. You have a bed TV towels provided daily, breakfast, shampoo and soap. The rooms are fairly clean, and they do makeup service daily. There is no storage available, (dresser, closet). We usually stay in higher end hotels, but we don't spend much time in them anyway, so this was good for us. As for the staff, they spoke perfect English, were very friendly, and accommodating, always willing to go the extra mile. I left my camera in a cab and the girl at the hotel called the cab company and the cab returned with the camera! I cannot say enough about the staff, we became friends, and I will miss them. They are the ones who made our stay truly perfect. Thank you Daniel, Raquel and Lade. Francisco, the owner even drove us to the airport!

Great Stay
I had an extended stay at this hotel as I explored Panama City and looked at rental properties in the city. For the price, the hotel was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. Many times, the staff called for a taxi and negotiated a reasonable price. Francisco the owner was available many times during my stay, and he took me to the airport when I departed for a fair price. The neighborhood was safe and offered a lot of nice restaurants and cafes. I would stay at this hotel again.

I did my reservation, looking something properly in base of the details of my reservation, where offer parking for car, private room, but I don't found where to park the car from the rent a car, I request to them and they make me wait long time until move one motorcycle and one car, when I came inside for make my check in, they try to give me a sharing bathroom where I suppose to pass through the front desk... I told to them, in my reservation don't mention sharing bathroom, and they try to charge to me around US $30 additional per night if I want private bathroom, I cancel at this moment my itinerary and called to Expedia for support. After I call to a pretty good hotel, was a real hotel, building in very good area, near of everything, and they charge to me cheape,r but level is much better. Mediterranean dreams guest house use an incorrect trick, for charge to the customer extra monies, in final is too expensive, is not hotel is a guest house, you can take better options, Panamá is full of hotels options.

Hello Omar!! Its a shame to know that even we try to help you, your were not satisfied. Yes, when you arrive to our hotel the parking lot was full (7 parking spaces) we move the bike and the car for you to be more confortable but it was not enough for you. Yes, your reservation was made for a share bathroom, i dont know the reason why it didnt said so in your printed reservation, you even call to expedia and they confirm that your reservation was made for shared bathroom, we charge NOT 30 $ we charge 10$ extra for private bathroom but that night we were sold out, so we couldnt give you an upgrade (not even free). We are a bed and breakfast chain and you can see in our pictures that we are not a big hotel. Sorry for all the inconvinience

The staff arranged for a taxi from the airport to Mediterrainian Dreams, after 48 hrs of travelling. Already we were pleased. The location was close to everything that we wanted to see. The staff was helpful and our Spanish improved with their help. The rooms were spacious, clean and air conditioned! Very good value. We booked with Mediterrainian Dreams because of the positive reviews about Fransisco. Unfortunately he was very busy and we were unable to use his talents. Maybe he could continue the succession planning.

Nice, basic hotel in a good neighbourhood. The staff were very helpful. Only hiccup was that the prearranged pickup from the airport didn't work out. The driver said he was there, but we didn't see him. Not a big deal as we were able to find a cab fairly easily.

Efficient, friendly, clean and quiet.
Stayed over night between planes. Pick up at airport was very efficient and friendly. Only about $5 more than taxi and so much easier. Room was clean, hot water and shower worked very well. Staff very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning worked well and was so quiet, had a great night's sleep.

Quiet neighbourhood but too out of the way for us
Nice staff though sometimes chaotic with breakfast taking a long time or when knocking on your door at quarter to midnight to ask to remove one of the beds in your room(?!!) The neighbourhood was very residential, quiet and felt safe but was too out of the way with nothing around it like bars or restaurants. Felt like an American small town suburb. It's a usd$4-5 taxi ride one way to the old town where we spent most of our time so I would stay there next time. Shower was hot but room in need of a spruce up & quite dark feeling. Air con worked well. Hot breakfast each morning included too.

Uh...a little security issue.
We went to check-in to the hotel on a brief stay before flying out the following morning. Well, we thought we paid for a private bath, which it wasn't. That is probably my fault, but the key for the room itself did not work and the front desk guy used a card to open the door and said it'll be safe to stay. Of course, my wife and I were not okay with that and decided to go to another location. Probably best to stay here as younger backpackers. If you do stay here, just watchout for the security issues that could be an issue down the road. In their defense, the place did not look too bad other than the fact that they wanted us to stay in a room that wasn't properly secured and thought it was okay.

This property is NOT a Hotel
The Mediterranean is a Hostel; it should not be advertised as a Hotel. Management is doing a fantastic job though. The rooms are very clean and so are the washrooms. It is pretty hard to find in the City. Taxi drivers in Panama City are not familiar with Street names. The staff are amazing and very helpful. There are towels and amenities available. The AC works and pop and water can be purchased at the Front Desk. You can also arrange for transportation to the Airport.

We were there for some nights, staff, they so nice and helpful for know the city and locate different parts as we wanted. Really was a very good experience we decided stay in this place surely if we come back panama we wont hesitate is chose this hotel again.

Just the things I needed when I needed them. There was a television set, air conditioner, and comfortable bed with pillows. I requested a wake up call at 4 am and the hotel management came through like champs! Making reservations was easy. A late check-in no problems. I would definitely choose this hotel again. A warm and friendly place to stay
I had a 22hr layover before my flight to the US. The service provided by the Mediterranean was absolutely wonderful from airport pickup through to the time of my departure. I would definitely stay again.

Great place, in a nice area!
We arranged with the hotel for a pick up at the airport. The price was $30 which was the same as if we had grabbed a taxi, but this way at least the driver knew where to take us. Hector was fantastic, we had some issues with lost luggage and he helped us by calling the airline. The room (we stayed in Banana) was small but adequate for two nights. The bed was comfortable and there was an armoire to hang a few clothes. Amenities were provided shampoo, conditioner and soap. There was A/C but we mostly only used the fan. There was a TV, but we didn't use it. Breakfast was served starting at 8am. Both mornings we were served eggs (once they were scrambled and once an omelet) with toast and fruit. Coffee and juice was also provided. The hotel was a five minute walk to Multi Plaza Mall. We got a great deal on Expedia and were able to prepay in our home currency which was nice. Will stay here again when we are back in the city.

The proprietor was so nice and he even got up early in the morning to make coffee just for us. Unfortunately, our taxi was waiting for us and we had to leave before having coffee. We were greeted with a smile and given the information we needed to make our stay stress-free. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the shower nice and hot! And last but not least-it was QUIET. That was very important to us, as we are light sleepers.

great hostel in a nice quiet area
Loved this hostel the owner Francisco is such a great guy so friendly, made us all feel very welcome and showed us around the city of Panama which was great as we only had one night he had lots of interesting information about the city and about the Panama Canal , I would recommend this hostel to all my friends, thankyou Francisco and all the lovely staff we enjoyed our stay :)

Great service!
We had an issue originally where our room's A/C wet out so we had to be moved to a sister hotel. Obviously this was frustrating at first, but their service MORE than made up for it. They took us to the other hotel no charge, upgraded our room, and when our taxi did not show up to the new hotel to take us to the airport, they took us to the airport no charge. They took good care of us.

Small quiet hotel close to the mall.
I would call this a "Boutique" hotel in a nice neighborhood. Close proximity to the mall is convenient for easy shopping and dining, but you still need a taxi or car to get anywhere. This hotel is brand new and taxis don't know it, so print and bring a map of the hotel location so you can find your way back!!

My first BB experience
I was a bit aprehensive, but now am glad I chose a BB instead of a hotel. Clean bed, basic breakfast (2 eggs, toast, shredded cheese) but OK, nice staff. I asked for airport pickup and the manager came to get me. I recommend it and would stay there again.

Very nice staff. Large free breakfasts. Bathrooms seperate from rooms and is not advertised. That was a little disapointing. Overall, I strongly recommend it. For a female travelling alone I felt quite safe.

Very clean little modern place to stay w/ breakfas
Nice little modern place. Everything brand new. Staff was great always willing to help and provide information about what we needed. They serve full breakfast in the morning with coffee and juice. Our bathroom was large. They have cable t.v on a flat screen in the room. I really like the fruit themed rooms. Great stay for the price can't beat it. A little hard to find but they do have parking there yeah!!

El hotel está cerrado, reservé y pague con tarjeta de crédito, y al llegar al sitio estaba cerrado, ya no está allí el hotel

Simplemente NO FUNCIONA, está cerrado y un candado en la puerta. Espere varias horas y cuando anochecía paso por allí una Sra y muy rápido dijo no funciona! A esa hora todos los hospedajes y hoteles repletos por tantos médicos que asistíamos al congreso Latinoamericano de Tórax, esa noche dormí en la alfombra del hospedaje de un hotel, luego encontré un Hotel, no un hospedaje a un mejor precio. Recomiendo a Expedia actualizar su base de datos para no maltratar a sus clientes como yo!
