very nice hotel at a reasonable price

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Everything. Location, staff, service, atmosfere.
Cons: It is just right, hope they will keep the way it is.
Location: Close to departure of water taxi and tours to nerby islands. Nice restaurants around. It is al about marine activities and food.
How fortunate to pick this hotel. It has great location on the main street of the island, close to everything you need but not too busy or noisy. The rooms are beatiful decorated and clean, nice beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We sat every day at the bar-restaurant area. Good breakfast and at the end of the day very relaxing place for a couple of drinks. This hotel was one the highlights of our trip to Bocas del Toro. Great for couples and familes.

Not as good as it looks in pics

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Location is central, but in the case of Bocas del Toros, the main drag is not necessarily desirable.
Cons: Better communication at the front desk.
Location: There is just one main road and this hotel is on it, albeit at one end of the road.
Stayed for a day; went elsewhere due to disappointing accommodations and location. Front desk not very helpful. You can do better, trust me.

Great hotel

It does not matter that the hotel is in the southern part of town, there is still plenty to do. The center of town is 5 blocks away. Good breakfast, and quiet to sleep.

Good choice in Bocas.

Location: One small drawback was that on Friday morning, the ferry across the street unloaded many large diesel trucks who were making supply deliveries.
This is a nice place if you're staying in Bocas. We had a double suite for 2 guys and it was pretty spacious but not as large as the pictures portrayed. We enjoyed lounging in their restaurant and people watching as the street was right in front of the hotel with more foot traffic than cars. The ocean is across the street. The outdoor restaurant is covered which is nice since it rained half the time we were there. The free wireless internet worked well. The free breakfast was decent.

Warm and welcoming staff

Stayed at Palma royals for 4 nights while visiting bocas. Staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for restaurants, tour operators, etc.. Room was spacious, but mattresses could use an upgrade. Air conditioner was noisy. These were both minor criticisms and I would definitely recommend the hotel to a friend. One general piece of advice when traveling to bocas: be careful with your personal belongings. I had my cell phone stolen from my table at a restaurant while my attention was briefly diverted.

Nice Hotel

This was a very nice hotel. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: 1) Rooms are very large. 2) Nice spot, close to the action but at the end of a street so it was quiet. We did not hear any loud music at night. There is partial views of the water (2nd floor and higher). 3) Room was clean. 4) Staff was very friendly and helpful. 5) Very nice grocery store next door (I wouldn’t use any other store in town other than this one). Cons: 1) Pricey - although this is a nice hotel, it isn’t very good value as the room is pretty expensive for what you get. 2) Didn’t like the 'cool white' florescent lighting in the rooms (I felt like I was at the office). 3) Wifi has very poor reception. We had internet in the room but it was a very weak signal (drops out very frequently). 4) Room could use a few general repairs. The soap dish was broken, the toilet was constantly running etc. 5) The hot water comes from an in-room electric water heater attached to the main water line. After about 10 minutes in the shower the fuse trips out and needs to be re-set - so you only have hot water for about 10 minutes then it runs cold.

Great place!

In a small town with a lot of competition, this place stands out from the croud. With contemporary luxuries in a town that hasn't quite caught on yet, this place sets the bar. My only suggestion for improvement is to have a stronger WiFi signal, so I can have internet in my hotel room, but that may be an issue with the internet company, not the hotel. Keep up by the good work guys!

Gorgeous finishes, amazing view, excellent staff!

Pros: Everything!
Location: It is central to everything you need.
The hotel room was impeccable! The touches of the 2 bedroom were just lovely from the bathroom tiles to the amazing wrap around balcony that had an awesome hammock (that my hubs fell asleep in). The breakfast and real homemade orange juice made every morning extra sweet to wake up to. Mr. Bob the owner is such a delight. We really love this hotel and if we ever come back we will definitely stay again! Thank you for an unforgettable trip!
