Hidden hotel

The roads to the hotel are terrible. The beach is a mile or so away done the road, not the best beach. No way to cook your own food, it's expensive for hotel to cook for you, their food is very good though! Town is a 15 minutes drive or so, a very remote location. Great tours as well that are available through hotel.

Wonder All Around

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: It is hard to improve in anything so well done.
Location: Close to Isla Tortugas, Coru park and many other nature tours
Wonder views, wonderful staff, wonderful room, wonderful food, wonderful stay all around. We would never forget the great staff. This why I love boutique hotels. We made new friends. Great conversations with the staff. They really do care about you. 22 rooms is perfect size.

Hidden Gem

Pleasantly surprised! Much nicer than we expected. The views were superb! Rooms were larger than they looked online. Bedding was excellent. Very clean and well kept grounds. Appreciated a quiet reserve set apart on the top of a hill. Great place to relax. Recommend renting a car, there are several sites close by to explore. Take the boat trip to the Islands... pristine white beaches and great snorkeling. Staff is very helpful and dedicated. Breakfasts come with the booking include fresh fruit, eggs, homemade bread, fresh squeezed juices, cheese and ham and great coffee. Every room has a spectacular view of the ocean.

Beautiful views, modern hotel

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Views and decor are great
Cons: Improve cell phone and internet reception. You can add wifi to rooms at not too much cost and a booster antennae for cell phone reception is doable.
Location: Take a trip to Montezuma (50 minutes)
Loved this place and the staff was fantastic. The only negative would be the room size being extremely small and the need for the owners to update their internet system (it is not that expensive to make this size resort all wifi accessible) and they should invest a little money in a cell phone signal booster. Had to go to lobby for reception.

The most amazing view. All the rooms have a breathtaking ocean view, Room was clean and staff very helpful. The road to the hotel is bumpy and unpaved (like many other roads in Costa Rica),

Beautiful Site in Remote Area

Posted Jan 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
It is a beautiful little resort, relaxing, with nice personnel. Other than the pool, there is nothing to do on your own, & it is not within walking distance of anything ~ except, a pretty beach a mile down the rough road, not for the feint of heart. We are hearty, but It was still a trudge back up the hill in 94 degree heat/humidity. We did not have a car, but another couple drove us about 5 miles to a local restaurant one evening for a change from the resort dining room. We thought there would be lots of activities, by the list on the web-site, but they are not related to the hotel & are not offered every day….a bit misleading. They also advertised a "free shuttle," & confirmed it by e-mail, but we were charged 10,000 colones by the driver when we were taken to the ferry. The hotel has since taken the false offering off their site. Their website also said "free WiFi," but that only happens when you are in the dining area, when it is turned on, when the connection is working, & when there aren't many others trying to use it. Don't count on it. Our experience was mixed.

Beautiful Views, but.....

Posted Jan 17, 2014
Pros: Views were amazing!
Cons: Better beds, hotel manager with a little more customer service politeness.
Location: The beach is a 20 min walk or 5 min car drive, there is paddleboarding, surfing, snorkeling, and there is a national park for those animal lovers!
The views are absolutely amazing. The rooms are new, no bugs, but the beds are very hard....for those of you who have bad backs, beware. The first night we were there, we lost power in just our cabin....there is no one at the front desk overnight so we had to just deal with it (no A/C in 110 degree weather!) until the morning when the hotel manager was back at the front desk....she was very unapologetic. Continued to say that "power outage can happen anywhere" and that she was shocked we were complaining. Because she was so unapologetic about it, it made me even more unsatisfied so I asked for a discount off our hotel for that night, she granted me $50 off which made me happy, but after that, she treated us very badly. My husband and I went down to the beach and I ended up getting bit by something that caused horrible pain; we went back to the resort to ask her if she might know what it was and what I should do, she said "no I don't know what you should do" and walked away. I ended up asking our room maid (who is Costa Rican; the hotel manager is from Switzerland) and she told me to go to the local pharmacy and they would be able to give me something to treat it - which they did :) To sum it up - if all you want is a place to sleep with an amazing view of the ocean, this is your place. But beds are uncomfortable, food is not traditional Costa Rican food (most of it is made out of a box), and the hotel manager wasn't the nicest.
