An economical, decent & safe hotel, near Airport

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, feeling of safety & security, economical & reasonable. The facility of Airport Shuttle van is really very useful. Free WiFi is bonus.
Cons: English communications, less noise from common TV area, a couple of global English news channels on TV. The TV size is really small & fixed high.
Location: The location is in Industrial estate & hardly any fast food restaurants nearby. Most entertainment & food locations are on the other side of Airport.
This hotel is owned & managed by a gentleman & his two young sons, with help from a couple of staff members. The owner himself also does pick-up & drop-off from his Airport Shuttle Van. The hotel is clean, decent and most of all, quite safe for single travellers, including single females. The windows on ground floor rooms all have iron grills for safety, so nobody can do any forceful entry from windows by breaking glass windows. Hence your belongings in room, when you are away from the room, are safe. There is also a 'Safe' box in the room for keeping valuables inside, each opening operation of which needs a coin of 1 Euro, however. The room when locked from inside, is securely locked, and nobody can enter the room with a duplicate key from outside. Thus single persons feel quite secure during nights. The best thing is there is a staff at the reception available 24 x 7. The breakfast is modest & limited for Euro 5, but very convenient & good value for money - you get orange juice, a toast made up of one slice of bread, coffee, and 6 pastries of three types (croissants, sweet cakes, etc). Three staff members (two sons of the owner & one lady staff) can speak very limited English, but the owner does not understand any English at all. Hence communication is the biggest problem. Any queries by email are normally replied with their standard replies using copy & paste, irrespective of the nature of queries. The replies are normally limited to how to book & use Airport shuttle van.

Cons: English was not perfect
Location: Close proximity to Madrid airport
While located in an industrial area, we were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel !! Airport shuttle service was perfect . Nice new van. Even took us to local restaurant as we were tired from travel. beautiful bath and very comfortable beds ! Should be a 5 star, NOT a two star.

Our overall stay was very pleasant especially for the price. We experienced some frustration as there was not phone to call for the courtesy shuttle and had to get a taxi take us to the hotel.
