Overall charmingPosted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: The vintage Paris charm.
When we arrived at the hotel, the staff was incredibly friendly and willing to get us settled into our room. The traffic was a bit noisy on our side of the hotel but the other rooms are most likely quieter. The breakfast that we believed was included, was not, and quite expensive given what was offered. We came in for afternoon wine in the salon and that was very reasonably priced. Cafe Benoit was close by and quite good. The property was under renovation while we were there and we believe when it's complete the hotel will be a very nice place to be. The weekend staff was not nearly as friendly was the weekday staff.

Excellent location, reasonablePosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Location in the 6th arr.
The hotel was undergoing renovation while I was there, so there were disruptions to the wifi and plumbing, and some noise during the day. The staff were very accommodating in reporting or fixing the problems, though I did have to move to another room because the plumbing problem could not be fixed. All staff spoke excellent English as well as other languages.

Work in progressPosted Jan 30, 2014
I was disappointed to find out upon checking in that I was unable to spend my last night in the hotel due to hotel maintenance. This was a work trip and I was unable to schlep my 5 pieces of luggage I have for my tradeshow to another hotel in the 16th arrond. Impossible. The staff did not try hard to find a solution nor were very reassuring that there was going to be one. All I was told was "there was nothing that can be done" only the night before did I find out from the hotel manager that they were going to accommodate me and my colleagues by moving the renovation/ maintenance to another week. Wifi did not work as promised in the rooms. I called before booking the room to make sure I was not going to have an issue as this was my trip for work. Otherwise I found the hotel to be quaint and situated on my favorite street , next door to my favorite café de flore

Not a business hotelPosted Nov 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The front desk staff is very French. Customer service is not high on their list of priorities. The hotel also has no ramp--and a very, very tiny elevator (one bag and one person small). Be prepared to carry your own bags with no help from the front desk. There is no room service--and I had to suggest the front desk find a pizza delivery place for me (12 midnight arrival). The room is also super tiny, the shower pressure not great and the amenities sparse. However, it was literally down the street from my appointment. But next time I'l stay at one of the other five hotels in the area.

Central and FriendlyPosted Oct 30, 2013
Academie Hotel Saint Germain was in a terrific location. Within walking distance to many good things: the Seine, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay. The room and bathroom were both tiny, but the friendly, helpful staff (who spoke very good English) and the location more than made up for the tininess.

A great location - an ok hotelPosted Oct 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is very well located and the staff were very friendly and professional. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast, which is €14.90 is not at all worth it, unless, like me you just wanted something easy in the morning. Good wi-fi so ok for working.

Perfect location, big enough for a Paris stayPosted Sep 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed three nights in a deluxe room. I'm glad we did, because I don't think we would have made it in a smaller room. It was all we needed for two people and two big suitcases. But honestly we weren't there to hang out in the room. The location was perfect. Easy walking distance to the Louvre, Orsay and a short hike to Norre Dame. The metro is very close for a trip to Eiffel and the Arc. The staff was great and very kind. Didn't make us feel like dumb american tourists for a second. We would stay again.

Excellent location for sightseeingPosted Sep 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly helpful staff, amazing location, walk to the Lourvre and the right bank,, 2 blocks from the most famous cafes in Paris, great restaurants nearby the hotel, and easy access via elevator, to our room. Great to have the hotel arrange the ariport shuttle also. The rrom was quaint and tiny, with everything you would need for your stay. The bed was extremely comfortable. We did have a superior upgrade on our reservation but upon checking in at midnight I think we were given the smallest room available, other than that, everything was perfect.. The bathroom was fine but could use an update, but did have all necessasry items and a good shower. Would recommend htis hotel, especially for the location, next to a boulangerie too and a coffee shop and na few blocks from the Open Tour busline for easy sightseeing.

Charming hotelPosted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: The shower was small.
Location: I spent evenings in Les Jardins Du Luxembourg. It is my favourite place to sit, relax and watch the world go by. It is an easy walk from the hotel.
The location of the hotel was amazing. It was close to all tourist sights. The hotel staff was very nice and the rooms were charming. It was exactly what I was looking for in a Paris hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

Great HotelPosted Jul 30, 2013
Location: Cafe Flore and surrounding cafes/restaurants are ideal for people watching....
Perfect location - I'd highly recommend this hotel and definitely plan to stay here again. Rooms were very large for Paris, sizeable bathroom (shower & tub) and while having an old-world charm, was modern enough to include a large flat screen TV and minibar! Bravo.
