“Great value for simple Paris hotel!”
This hotel is perfect for the person who cares about location, safety, cleanliness, helpful staff and cost. The rooms were spotless including the bathroom. The bathrooms were small, as to be expected but the shower (hand held with hanging option) has awesome water pressure. The sheets and duvet were pure white and crisp. There was a flat screen T, mini bar and wardrobe. The room did not have a safe, and you had to leave the key at the desk when you left. This was not a problem as the desk is staffed 24/7 with friendly people. All desk staff spoke English very well. WIFI was 2.50€ for 24 hours of service. The front dest offers a laptop with free access and printing for .50€ per page. The area has a nice neighborhood feel with cafes,Patessaries, specialty shops, small convenience shops and a pharmacy. It is very close to Cardinal Limoine Metro. We walked to Marais, Notre Dame and Louvre. Really close to the river. The location is in the Latin Quarter,(4th Arr) but was not a tourist trap. The people in the nearby shops and cafes were wonderful to us. We loved the Le Petite Cardinal cafe. The hotel is a bit noisy in a creaky way as old buildings can be ie footsteps, water pipes, older lift, but don't let it deter you, this hotel is a great value.
“Good option”
This hotel is a good option of staying in Paris especially if you don’t want to spend much. The location is very good you can visit many touristic places by walking and you will find many facilities like subway and restaurants nearby. I shall advise that the room is not big and the shower box is very small.
“Recommended”
Small but good room where everything worked. Comfortable. Reasonably priced for central Paris. My wife and I stayed twice for extended time period (two weeks). Room has a small frig, which means you can store food and eat your own breakfast rather than pay for the pricey hotel continental breakfast.
“Not brilliant”
Hotel is clean but basic. 2 rooms were booked thru Expedia and we ended up with an inner fire escape room on lower floors - noisy with windows open because of staff chattering and a/c compressors but closing the window helped. Friends who booked later and not thru Expedia but at the same rate got a high floor sunny street view. Breakfast is not included (12 EU and much better options outside) and wifi was 2.60 EU for 24 hours - not expensive but they may as well give it to you at that price. All rooms seemed to have a bath but no shower - not a surprise in Paris but worth allowing for.
“Would be happy to stay again”
Stayed for five nights. The rooms are small as in just about any older Paris hotels on the left bank, but the service and staff were wonderful, everything clean and maintained, and the location was very good and easy to access by foot or metro.
“Reasonable price, great location!”
10 minute walk to Notre Dame in the Latin quarter, which is pretty central to a lot of the sights in central Paris. There was a little balcony which overlooked the road in our room, from which we could see the cathedral itself. Overall, very nice place for the location. Bit small on size, but then again so are a lot of the hotel rooms in Paris. Bathroom was new and remodeled.
“Good Hotel - Great Location”
The hotel is a basic 3 star hotel that meets all the criteria a 3 star hotel should have. I'd say the best part about this hotel is that it's clean, reasonably inexpensive by Paris standards and in a great location on the left bank. It's not right in the heart of everything but close enough, that also makes the location itself a bit quieter. Sound insulation in the room was great. The staff were friendly, the room was clean. The room is small by USA standards but fine by Paris standards. I'd stay there again.
“Great hotel”
This is a great hotel in the Latin Quarter. Notre Dame is a 10 minute walk and there are many excellent stores and shops within walking distance (Eric Kayser - boulanger, is a few blocks away). The metro is also quite close (either Monge or Lemione) to the hotel so getting around Paris is very easy. The staff was quite helpful and spoke English well. The rooms are small but very nice. The only concern that I had was that the bed was a bit small ( a double for both myself and my wife) other than that the hotel was excellent and in a great location. We will definitely stay there again.
“Central location, easy access”
I have stayed at the Hotel Acte V twice. While the rooms (and bathrooms) are small, they are clean and pleasant - well maintained and have nice white cotton bed linen. Managment are pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is located within walking distance of Notre Dame and the tourist area. Plenty of nearby patisseries for delicious quiches and bagettes for breakfast, as well as pavement cafes for sit-down meals. Two nearby metro stations (use Place Monge when you have luggage as it has escalators!) put the hotel in easy reach of CDG and pretty much the whole of Paris.
“A decent room on Rue Monge”
Decent room, plain but clean. Everything worked. Comfortable bed. One flight up facing street. A little loud at night, but didn't prevent me from sleeping. Pleasant people at the desk. I paid a lot for a plain room. However, considering it is in central Paris and I booked only a week in advance, maybe the price was reasonable. I liked having a 'natural' food and a general store just down the block. I walked comfortably to Notre Dame, and, in the other direction, Gare Austerlitz for my train. Maybe 20 minutes.
