“Overall okay”

I stayed at Armstrong for two nights in December, 2009. I was traveling alone for business meetings in Paris. All the hotels were extremely expensive and I found the hotel reasonably priced compared to other hotels and amenities basic and adequate. There are some pros and cons: Pros: Reasonable price. Good location: very close to metro and neighborhood looked safe. There was a grocery in the same building on the next side. So, it was convenient to buy some food. Flat TV on the wall. Free wireless internet was very helpful. The staff was kind. Cons: Walls were thin and corridors narrow, so when next door guests were in and out, the noise was loud, but it was in general bearable. During my stay, TV remote was not working. I thought it was battery: however, when I requested new ones and replaced, it did not work. I did not see the TV, so it should be okay. The problem was that I was not able to turn off the TV, which means I had the TV on while I was sleeping. I have no big complaints overall, considering the price.

“Far exceeds its modest price tag!”

What a lovely surprise this hotel was! I wasn't expecting much for the price and was very pleasantly surprised! While the location is not ideal for those wishing to visit the major tourist sites in Paris, it's perfect for young, adventurous types who love walking and catching glimpses of real-life Paris. Room was quiet, clean, small of course (it's Paris!) but very comfortable and updated. I witnessed staff spending 15-20 minutes explaining routes, sites and restaurants to newcomers, and they were helpful and polite to me as well. Breakfast buffet was delicious, plentiful, with great healthy choices like boiled eggs, cheese, yogurt and juice. The 20th is home to some immigrants, which meant fun street markets and good ethnic food. Overall great stay.

“Good for the Price”

This was the cheapest hotel in Paris I could find and I was a little worried, but it was OK. Not luxury accomodations, but clean and secure. It was in a fairly nice little neighborhood and the Metro was very close with most tourist destinations a short ride away. My only complaint was that it was a little noisy.

“Good location”

The hotel is in a privileged location, it is close to the downtown (walking) The room is clean but the beds were not very comfortable.

“Good times”

Hotel was hidden behind a hospital but very nice. The staff were very helpful, the bar open late and the room was clean. When we travel all we look for in a room is a place to sleep and shower and this fit the bill. The bed was a bit lumpy and the room tiny, but it is Europe so you have to expect that unless you wish to shell out some serious cash. But who goes to Paris to hang out in their hotel room?

“Can't wait to go back”

The hotel was just right for the price. The staff was friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The room was on the smaller side, but the only time spent in the room was to sleep. The metro was a minute walk and we used it to get everywhere. There was a supermarket right around the corner which was perfect to pick up snacks and drinks for the room. I will definately stay here next time I go to Paris.

“Great Hotel if you prefer to walk a lot.”

We could have used more towels, more cups, and a more friendlier day time receptionist. Other than that, it was perfect! I would say it was like a *** star hospital. I was impressed. The breakfast buffet is def. worth the 8 euros, because you can stuff the croissants in your bag for later! Bring an excellent pair of walking shoes.

“far from center of Paris, but close to Metro”

Nice hotel for what we needed; we only needed a 1 night stay, so bed and shower were good. We also needed to be close to Gare de Lyon for our train ride south of France, so conveniently located for this station. I really appreciated the free WIFI access.

“Matchbox -sized rooms”

Let's start by saying that this hotel either doesn't have any normal sized rooms or they just didn't want to give me one. We had a double bed that took up 95% of the room with 18 inches wide walking space around the bed. Plus, we had so much trouble getting ice, which is only available at the bar downstairs. After the second night, we couldn't get any more ice because they didn't make it.
