New Years in Paris in St. Germain de PresPosted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: The bed. Though I received a queen sized, it was two twins pushed together. So in the middle of the night I wound up sinking in a widening crack.
Location: Dining, shopping and people watching. Near the Louvre, Notre Dam and the Latin Quarter - Paris!
The Artus Hotel deserves it's online reviews as an excellent boutique hotel. First is the location - St Germain Blvd and Rue de Buci, the heart of St. Germain de Pres! I have been to Paris at least 10 times since 1985, having spent more than 100 days in Paris. Though I have walked past Rue de Buci many times, I wish I would have journeyed down it years earlier! The array of shops, cafes, bistros is very concentrated. Everything seems to be within a 10 minute walk. The rooms are well appointed, and typically sized for older European buildings. I had a view of Rue de Buci from my room, which was a nice bonus. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, with recommendations and printed directions. But, the service star was Sanjay, the concierge. This trip for me was to enjoy the new fine dining of Paris. Sanjay was superb. We began communicating by e-mail in early December, and he gave me several recommendations and their web links. This allowed me to do Yelp and Google reviews to help with my choices. When I arrived in December 27th, Sanjay welcomed me by name, never having met me before. During my stay we finalized my dining choices and Sanjay had reservations for me at all of my choices. What a difference that made! While I got seated immediately, people off the street had to wait to get seated, often waiting out in the cold for an hour or more. Stay at the Artus!

Great location and wonderful front desk staff.Posted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Location, staff
Location: Great restaurants, shops, Notre Dame and the Louvre are within walking distance.
Clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of the Left Bank. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. They all spoke English and provided us with great restaurant recommendations. The staff was very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Rooms are on the small side, but bathrooms are updated. Ask for a room on the courtyard side as the street side can be a little noisy depending on time of day/evening. We all decided to stay at this hotel on our next visit.

great locationPosted Nov 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Wonderful location & very helpful staff. We found the housekeeping a little lacking in terms of not vacuuming or cleaning bathroom floor. Also the advertised fitness center is a joke with only one piece of equipment. I would still recommend this hotel as it was overall a wonderful experience.

Pros: Nice and very clean.Friendly staff and very quiet ,we got a room at the rear, no view, but don't hear any street noise
Cons: bigger sign, can't see the name well, maybe it's not allowed to have neon sign in Paris
nice small place in the heart of St Germain ,walking distance to the Louvre,Notre Dame,Museo de Orsay ,and the most beautiful garden i've ever seen the Luxembourg

All you need for a short trip to ParisPosted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location is prime, really can't get any better. You are a short walk or metro ride from some of the largest attractions in Paris while being in the center of St. Germain. Our room was clean, up to date and very very small. The bathroom is half open, meaning there is only a door separating the toilet from the room. The bed was a slight annoyance as two twin beds were merely pushed together leaving a small gap that widens if you roll into it. Overall the hotel has good value. On a short trip the focus should always be location, location and a clean updated room.

Noisy but good locationPosted Oct 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel needs to pay attention to the condition of the rooms. Curtains we're off the rods and the walls were chipped and scuffed. Breakfast room was nice and the staff very helpful. Location is great but when the bars close at night the it's tough to sleep from all the singing and carrying on outside the window.
