“spent some great nights here”

This hotel was great, just a short walk from the subway, very nice neighborhood during the day, a little less after dark. The place was very clean freshly renovated. Breakfast is not included but there are a lot of options nearby and a grocery store right next door. My room was facing the street and it was quiet at night. Some of the staff don't speak a lot of english but everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

“Clean and Respectable Hotel with Helpful Staff”

The Allegro Hotel was located in a quiet neighborhood serviced by the Picpus Metro stop and buses. There was a wonderful street market a block away and a supermarket across a narrow street. There was an ATM at the end of the block and one at the Metro stop. We arrived early around 10 AM and were immediately given a room with twin beds on the second floor. The room and bathroom were very clean - the maid came every day to straighten the beds, replenish the towels and do some general cleaning up. The beds were extremely comfortable. The map of Paris that we got from the desk was excellent. Even when we came in late at night, there was always a receptionist at the desk in the lobby, and all the receptionists could speak basic English. We had no problem with the hotel policy of handing in the room key when leaving the hotel. When we arrived and at our request, the hotel reserved a shuttle to the airport for us for when we were to leave. The shuttle service was reasonably priced, picked us up at the time arranged and got us to Charles De Gaulle in good time for our plane The hotel breakfast was expensive so we only ate there the last morning when we needed the convenience of an early breakfast with no clean-up. However, the street market and the supermarket provided great alternatives for other days. We stayed at the Allegro for a week, and I really liked it and its staff. I would heartily recommend the Allegro to anyone who wants good, basic accomodations.

“Find another hotel”

We discovered that a large area of the rug beside the bed was soaking wet. When we approached the manager about this she immediately started to argue and insinuated that it was our fault (it wasn't). When we asked her for a discount she decided to take the matter 'under consideration,' then gave us a pitiful 25%. She thought this was most generous. We didn't and we won't be going back. If you want a hotel that advocates for its guests, look elsewhere.
