“Castex Hotel”

This is a perfect getaway in the Bastille Section of Paris for the intrepid person. The site is perfect for wandering around Paris and is close to Metro stations on Rue St. Antoine and Boulevard Henry IV, and has ample services of a variety of restaurants, entertainment, world class and local shopping and abundant history within a short walk of the Hotel. The site is within a 15 minute walk of Gare du Lyon (train station) for sites and areas outside of Paris. While we were there, a Sunday rock concert was held in the Bastille area that was mobile and proceeded down Rue St. Antoine. There is a concierge on 24 hours. However, as we were leaving, we did have to go to the taxi stand located on the north side of the Bastille to get a taxi.

“Bastille area good choice”

We stayed 2 nights here and it was very pleasant, clean and a handy location nearby metro station. As you would expect, the room was small. The room overlooked a quiet courtyard. It was nice to have air conditioning in July. We enjoyed the complementary bottle of wine. We didn't eat here but found plenty of neighborhood spots for dining. We would stay here again!

“Excellent location, but needs soundproof doors”

Very convenient location, but this hotel needs soundproof doors, fresh paint, new bedspreads and cleaner-looking floors.
