“Nice, Modern Hotel”
If you consider yourself a hip person, stay here. But if you're a TGIF or Applebee kind of person, then don't stay here. The neighborhood is similar to New York where you walk out and see different eclectic restaurants, sidewalk crepes, farmers market. The hotel is very modern. Just be careful of the shower, since it's designed to be used to bathe in a tub so you may splash water everywhere because there is no shower curtain, just a small section of wall glass. The buffet breakfast is good, especially the croissants, espresso, cold cuts, cheese, eggs, etc. Very European. The staff is very nice and speak English.
“A Luxury Boutique”
Simple perfect, the location, the ambiance, the staff, everything was top quality. A very chic boutique hotel, I would definately stay again. the cherry on the cake for a fantastic holiday
“Good value”
Very small rooms but good value
“great location”
Great location, great room with great bathroom. Nice boutique hotel. Stairwell and common areas show some wear and tear. Overall good for singles and couples.
“Good Place Away from Downtown at a good price”
The Color Design is a remodel from an old building: totally modern in a old part of town. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean. Our window opened in a neighborhood where there was balconies, clothes drying outside, flower boxes, children playing. Kind of far from everything, but it was worth it. Free internet access, great "petit dejeuner". Funny layout of the bathroom, not good lighting for make up, but TV speakers in the bathroom!
“Nice hotel...BUT...”
Overall, I have to say I can't complain too much. The staff is really nice and try to be as helpful as possible. The hotel interior has a really intersting funky minamalist design and modern furniture. They also provided free wifi! Which is great considering a lot of Eu hotels I have stayed in have the audacity to charge up to 30Euro's a night!!! HOWEVER...the bedrooms are extremely tight, even for a European establishment. I am not a big person and honestly getting into an airplane bathroom and maneuvering was easier than this one! The shower has one of my favorite features(read with sarcasm), a half piece of glass to prevent water from going out. Which if you have ever encountered one of these you know that it prevents nothing from getting out, and your bathroom floor becomes this disgusting puddle every time you shower. Beyond that the location is only okay. Ther was a metro stop just down the street and an ATM. But the hotel was literally a flower in a pot of dirt. Essentially the only "nice" looking establishment on the street. It wasn't exactly a neighborhood I would travel back to on my own with the metro past a certain hour at night. But it isnt too far a walk from some nicer areas near the bastille filled with great restaurants and bars etc... For the deal it was a good value, if the surroundings were nicer I would probably care a bit less about the tight squeeze in the room, considering you hardly should spend time in your room when in Paris.
“too much noise”
Yes, this hotel is cute, and people are nice there. But if you want to sleep in the morning - FORGET ABOUT IT. Extremely noisy!!!! And you'll not find traditional "DO NOT DISTURB" plate in your room, of in the hotel. Also no minibar in the room. And no space there. At all.
“Good Place to stay”
Helpful staff, very nice breakfast, very clean room, recently updated baths, flat screen TV, close to the metro. My room was small by U.S. standards but if you can pack light there is no issue. While it's not situated in the heart of tourist activity I thought it was an excellent value. An interesting hotel and as I have cause to return to Paris soon, I'll go back.
