Right next to St Lazarre Train Station

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
Location: In Opera Area which is nice next to Metro Station
Don t be fooled by pictures on the internet. We were. It is old and quite run down except if you are lucky enough to get the 1st Floor which has been totally done up, but the rest is old old old and not a pleasant experience. We asked to be moved from our top floor room after finding on arrival the TV wasn t working and when we opened the mini bar a smell of something dead came out and stunk the room out. We asked if we could be moved, which we did but had to pay and extra 100Euros for 2 nights which equates to approx $200 New Zealand dollars more. It is now a Hilton Hotel and they should have pulled the whole thing down and started again. Given, they are in process of doing it up but why not drop your prices as it is expensive.

Good location for getting about on foot or metro

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Entrance Lobby and Foyer where very impressive but the rooms were typical of a Parisian 4* hotel, smallish and lacking in room facilities-tea/coffee.
Cons: Presently going thro an upgrade which is well overdue on the rooms as they look tired. Improve room facilities.
Location: Transport, shops and restaurants all handy.
Only used for room only basis but plenty of places nearby for breakfast or evening meals. Do not recommend the Marco Polo restaurant across the street as the service was poor and food pricey.

Wife's 30th Birthday

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Excellent rooms. Very close to main metro/train stops.
Cons: Reception staff could make more of an effort to engage with visitors.
Location: Good location. Main attractions are within a walk-able distance and several metro, train and bus stops are very near. Hotel is very easy to find.
Spent 2 nights here for my wife's 30th birthday. Great rooms and a good location. Staff were nice but not very personable. Food at hotel was expensive. Would stay here again.

Weekend away

Great hotel in a lovely location. The room was small and only had a double bed. The bathroom was light and spacious. Maid service was daily, we stayed for 3 nights. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel as we like to go out. For the money this hotel was very good.

Very central

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Staff were lovely and helpful. Hotel is very central and is great for getting around. Food and drinks are quite expensive, but then so is Paris. Unfortunately due to renovations the room was very noisy with a view of a crane. If windows were closed it was fine but the air conditioning wasn't working and it was very hot. This was sorted though. Despite the restrictions we had we still had a lovely stay and I'm sure once they have finished it will be worth it.

Hotel close to opera house

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The decor, apart from all the steps.
Cons: Staff could be friendlier and not take an hour and three phone calls and a visit to the concierge for something as necessary as ice for an accident.
Location: Great shops Opera house
Hotel looked attractive but room was very small. The air conditioning was on as high as possible for hours but the room never cooled down. I had an accident and asked the concierge for some ice for my ankle. One hour and 3 phone calls later I received some. I asked details about a taxi to the airport. I asked the hotel to hold my case on the day of checkout and was asked what time I needed it. They put it into the taxi and I found there was €19.50 on the meter. I had never been told about this when I asked for the details. This was unprofessional and unfair to a 70 year old lady travelling on her own. I was unimpressed.

Wait until the remodel is finished.

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed with great sheets. Nice bath for Europe.
Cons: Service. A finished remodel. Expedia could stop showing pictures that don't match it's current condition.
Location: The location is perfect, right next to a metro stop. The Opera Garnier is a short walk or 1stop on the metro.
This hotel was a beautiful almost glamorous place 18 years ago when my interior designer sister stayed there. I looked it up and was impressed with the pictures so I booked it. Nowhere did it or Expedia tell me it was going through a remodel. All those georgous rooms in the photos were blocked off, out of view. I was happy to find out Concord Opera was now a part of Hilton ( we're Hilton Honors members) only to be upset when I found out they couldn't add my stay to the account because it was booked through Expedia! ( they do it for me in Baltimore EVERY TIME) I had an opportunity to have a friend stay with my son and I, the Supiror room booked wasn't large enough to add a roll away, they couldn't sell me an upgrade or come up with any solution. The staff were friendly, but never helpful.
