“Can't beat the location”
The location in the Latin Quarter is perfect. Close to everything: Latin Quarter restaurants & shops, Notre Dame, the Parthenon, Luxembourg Gardens, Metro stops, etc. But situated on a quiet side street that gets you away from the business of Parisien streets and allows you a quiet night's rest. The rooms are very small (as are most hotel rooms in Paris). But they are clean, comfortable, and recently redone (i.e. modern). The staff is very friendly and helpful with all things hotel related. But don't expect great advice on things to see and do. This is a small hotel without an experienced concierge. Stay here if you want to experience Paris the way a local would. If you need lots of help with choosing restaurants, tours, etc., stay at a larger hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a genuine, Parisien experience.
“Great place to stay!”
This Hotel is really close to the Notre Dame Cathedral... a good base camp to explore Paris major attractions. Is near a metro (Maubert - mutualite). Good restaurants/bars in the area. Hotel staff is really helpful. The latin quarter is one of the best places to stay. The room was very modern and comfy. The only downsize of the room is that there is only a frosted glass that separates the toilet from the rest of the bathroom/ bedroom area. Also you can see the tub from the bed so there is no privacy, but I was traveling alone so that was no problem for me. I dont know if all rooms are like that so call the hotel in advance of purchasing your stay. One of the highlights of the room is that they provide bath salts... taking a long bath after a long day walking is priceless.
“Great boutique hotel in the Latin Quarter”
small room, but then again, this is Paris. Hotel had recently been redone, everyting was new and cozy. Loved it for the atmosphere. Room was super clean, had all the ammenities and charm we were looking for.
“Wonderful oasis in an often hectic city”
Paris is a big city and with it comes dirt, lots of commotion, dense crowds and noise. This hotel, tucked away on a 1 way street is perfectly located just one block from the Seine river and within easy walking distance to the Notre Dame and Latin Quarter. Great location! And it's quiet, which is so rare. Our room opened out to a back coutryard where you could see green foliage and blue skies! It was so quiet we never heard cars honking or loud sounds, it was really a dream. The room is large for Paris standards and I was impressed that they had Ipod technology as well as a flat screen. French TV is generally bad, but no fear, the beds were super nice, another rarity in Paris hotels. I slept like a baby. The room was appointed in dark purple carpet and light green walls, kind of odd. I imagine the dark carpets hide some dirt and I noticed that our room wasn't really vacuumed during our five day stay. That's why I rated cleanliness a 4. Also, there were hairs on the celing, 18 of them but who's counting and I imagine the cleaning people never looked up and if they did, could not reach them to clean. At one point, the shower pressure sucked but the main attendant took care of it right away. The only real draback is the toilet. Be prepared to show some serious intimacy as you overhear every drop and plop. There is no real door... anyway, great stay despite the strange bathroom set up.
“Excellent experience”
Not expensive and with the exact things you need to enjoy Paris
“Newly Remodeled”
The Hotel De Notre Dame has been recently remodeled leaving some of the beautiful old character (wooden beams and exposed stone) and adding new, modern furniture/fixtures. The rooms and the staff were great and the hotel was very clean. The beds and bedding were comfortable. There were two nice large windows. There was free wi-fi in the room (SO convenient if you want to do any last minute research or call home over the internet). Some people may be bothered by the lack of privacy between the bathroom and the room (only frosted glass door separates the toilet from the rest of the room/bathroom) or the lack of a stand-up shower, but the bathtub more than made up for it for me. The tub lit up (think chromotherapy) and effervesced. It was very relaxing and there was a hand sprayer if you wanted to rinse off. They even provided bath salts. The neighborhood was very good. The hotel is close to a couple of metro stations, the Seine, Notre-Dame, Saint Chapelle, restaurants, etc. There are many restaurants on Bd. Saint Germain and if you go far enough to the west (~half-mile to Rue de Seine), chocolate shops. All and all, I'd recommend this hotel highly.
“Great Location”
The location of the hotel is its biggest selling point. It's a nicely renovated hotel, very charming lobby. The bathroom door doesnt fully shut and opens into the room, it's too small for any average size person so the door cant be shut. Privacy is therefore an issue. otherwise, all good.
“Excellent location and newly remodeled”
Hotel De Notre Dame is an excellent value in the Latin quarter on the Left Bank. There are plenty of restaurants, pastry shops, cheese shops and a metro stop very nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The entire hotel has been remodeled within the past year so everything is new and fresh. You can see Notre Dame from the hotel and theSeine River is just a block away. It is, in my opinion, the best moderately priced hotel in the Latin quarter.
“Fabulous Stay!”
We love this hotel and now that it has been renovated, it is even better. The rooms are small, but the bathtubs are huge and the modern ambience suits the hotel. Walking distance to multiple metro stops and Notre Dame. Really couldnt be more perfect!
“Reasonably-priced 3*** Left Bank hotel”
The rooms have been recently redecorated, and the lobby is now underway. The staff is extremely cordial. The location is excellent; It is a block from the Seine and a block from St. Germaine Blvd. The rooms are tiny, as expected in Paris, but decorated with flair. There is an elevator, but no parking. The beds are doubles, as kings would not fit into the rooms. Some rooms have a view of Notre Dame, but they face the street. Quieter courtyard rooms are available. Inconsiderately loud neighbors (fellow American women) could be heard through the walls and door.
