“"Can't wait to go back."”

The hotel is in the first arrondisemont which puts you right around the corner from the Louvre, one block from the Rue de Rivoli. You are situated in the Place Vendome and all the beautiful shops are there. Definately the high rent district. It was wonderful just to stroll around. The hotel itself was very nice. A few tourist kinds of mistakes were made by us and the front desk people were very helpful sorting things out for us. The breakfast we ordered arrived promptly and was fresh and tasty. The room was thoroughly cleaned each day. The quality of the room itself was above average. I doubt very much that I would be able to afford this hotel if I did not stay there in the off-season.

“Great Find”

This hotel was in a terrific location for sight seeing, but certainly nothing fancy! The rooms were small but comfortable. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. It was more than acceptable given the price was 1/2 of what it would have cost to stay in a fancier room on the same block.

“Paris' best value hotel”

This hotel was on a quiet street a block from Rue de Rivoli. It was very close to our tour bus station. The hotel was four blocks from the Louvre. The size of the hotel room was bigger than the normal Paris hotel room. The bathroom was better than we expected.

Overall, I agree with most of the reviews of the hotel. It's a cozy place, could use a little updating (especially our bathroom), and the service was generally friendly (although they forgot to give us our wake-up call on the day we were leaving -- caused us some hassle and they didn't seem to care). The staff is English speaking and will call restaurants, etc. if you need someone who speaks fluent French. Location is perfect for the first-time traveler to Paris. It's central to all the major sites, which is probably what you'll need for your first trip here. Metro is only a couple of blocks away, too. Ask for a room that doesn't face the street. Walls and windows are very thin and the noise on the street late at night (even though it's on a quiet side street) can be annoying if you're a light sleeper. The room is typical -- simple but attractive. High ceilings, clean, but generally small. Not a big deal if you're only planning to sleep and shower here. We were very comfortable.

“Mixed Experience”

This hotel is very well located. The public areas are very nice. The room we had was large, but needed refurbishment--the wallpaper was peeling and some of the tiles in the bathroom were loose. Also, sometimes the room was not cleaned properly. Breakfast is not included in the price. I was surprised at check-out to learn of its high price--about $US18.75 per person. Some of the reception staff were welcoming, but others were cool.

“Great location - very small rooms”

This hotel is in a great location -- directly behind the Gardens, with the Louvre and Seine River only a short 5 minute walk, and the Champs Elysees within 10-15 minute walk. The staff was friendly and accomodating. As with most European hotels, I expected the room to be small. However, this standard room was even smaller than usual for France/Europe. With a twin size bed and my suitcase lying on the floor, I literally could not step around my baggage to get into my bed without stepping on top of it. I was alone and there for only one night so I could bear it, but for 2 people staying for a few nights, be aware that room size is apx 8x8.

This hotel is showing a bit of wear and tear(literally wallpaper falling off the walls) but can be excellent if properly maintained.

“Phenomenal Location, Average Accommodations”

In general, I would recommend this hotel. It is located across the street from the Tuileries Gardens--absolutely beautiful, great to read and people watch. Moments from the Louvre, which was the major draw for me. The Tuileries Metro stop is close and this line connects easily with the majority of other Metro lines. The hotel staff were young, but very pleasant and very helpful. One young guy especially. . .always smiled, gave great inside information, even gave me his e-mail address if I had questions on my next trip (scheduled for February). The maids were friendly and thorough. The hotel is in good condition, but a little rough around the edges. For example, the bedspread had a couple of small stains and was pilled. Bathroom could use a bit of an update. Overall, it was clean. Walls were thin, but it's Europe. I never heard the water sounds reported by others. Let me emphasize the pros of this location, though. Angelina is on this same block (best hot chocolate ever). High end shopping in Place Vendome and west on Rue St. Honore, etc. Great restaurants and cafes are abundant. Moments from Place de la Concorde, Madeleine, Opera areas. I would stay here again if I needed to be in this location, but I think I'll explore other options for my next trip.
