“Decent hotel, but nothing special, far from hip and cool”

Decent hotel in great location, but i was expecting something better for the rate paid. I was also expecting it to be an 'hip" hotel, but it lacks the right vibe. More like a tourist hotel with some pretence.

“Would recommend anytime.”

Wonderful Hotel. Excellent Service. Front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. All things considered, it was a great place to stay. The metro is a minute's walk. Beautiful view of the Opera Garnier. There's tons of shopping and restaurant around. It's a must stay if you can get a good deal on the price. I stayed in a better hotel next to this one with even better rooms but less price on the same time of teh year.

Area recommendations
The Opera District is teh best place to stay. This is the heart of the... shopping food, theatre, tranportation and entertainment. Stayed in this area twice and loved it. If you keep looking a little ahead, you will find good deals on Good hotels in this area.
Getting there
Public transportation is great to get around, but I suggest the shuttle from and to Airport, if you are not on a tight budget. Depending on where your hotel is located, a busride, or metro may require you to walk a bit with your luggage. The metro system is easy to follow with frequest intervals. There are maps all around the station and the information desk will help you get where ever you want to go. I have been to Paris twice and found it helpful to note down the metro stations at the points I will be visiting. That way, it saves a little time from figuring it out while you are at the stations or standing in the information line.

“Excellent service, very firendly staff!”

We have stayed in many hotels in Paris and Edouard VII stands out as the best ever. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. This is crucial if you travel as a family with kids, like us. We loved the suite we were given, excellent design and exceptional view. Location of the hotel is the best, right in the heart of the city. The only tiny little issue for us was the room service which was was available because apparently the kitchen was going through a renovation. We strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Paris.

Area recommendations
Practically everywhere around this area is worth visiting, one thing I have to point out here, if you are new to Paris, watch out for the restaurants and cafes that are geared towards tourist, there is very high chance that you will be dealing with grumpy waiter. They take visitors as granted and treat then terribly. Look for smaller but more genuine places to eat or drink.

“Modern, Clean, and Comfortable”

We enjoyed our stay at the Edouard 7 hotel, on our recent weeklong trip to Paris. The Hotel was very conveniently situated to both Metro and bus lines that ran along the Avenue de l'Opéra. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful - especially going out of their way to find an available room for us at our early arrival (before the room we had reserved was to be ready). Probably most impressive was how clean, modern, and comfortable our room was. We stayed in room #407. It was just a pleasure to return to our room every day. The bathroom was very clean and relatively (by Paris hotel standards) spacious bathroom, including plenty of counter space. The same for the wardrobe/closet - we had plenty of space for our clothing and shoes. Towels were of a good quality and size. Air Conditioning worked very well. We do not watch TV much during our travels - but in case it interests you - the quality was fair, both in terms of image quality and selection of channels. Probably below the level you'd expect in such a hotel.

Getting around
We recommend the Paris Visite for the days you'll be getting around Paris. It's so convenient to be able to hop on/off buses and the metro to get places without having to deal with buying individual tickets. Also, don't shy away from buses in favor of Metro. We found that the electronic signs at each bus stop were very helpful in knowing when the next bus was due, and maps clearly showed individual stops -- it's a terrific way to get around without having to spend time getting down into the metro and back up. Of course of longer journeys, the Metro is probably still a good choice since Paris traffic can make a bus trip longer in comparison.

“Friendly service”

When the 3 of us checked in we were told we were being upgraded to a junior suite which was ready for us in a very short time given that we were checking in early. The entire staff were extremely friendly and accommodating especially given we couldn't figure out how to turn the electricity on in the room (the key card had to go in a slot by the door). Our room had a balcony right on the Avenue de L'Opera which had an amazing view, but wasn't at all noisy. It was a great place to watch the thunder storms from. The Starbucks across the street was fantastic for a quick breakfast before getting out to wander Paris.

“Heart of Paris”

Edouard VII Opera Hotel is an old world hotel freshly renovated to modern standards. One of the few hotels in the heart of Paris with queen and king beds and the old world charm. Location is great -- half way between the Louvre and the Opera House, both must see. Easy walking distance to so much. In the heart of the financial district -- so many shopping locations. The hotel was renovating when we visited -- they upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost because of the noise on the lower levels due to renovation. A luxurious room. Everything was brand new and quite luxurious. The staff was very friendly and helpful -- treated us like special family guests. They help us with so many tours, dining, and personal services -- all with helpful smiles. They made us feel very welcome! Great place.
