“loved it”

I found this hotel to be very charming. I chose it after reading about other people's ratings on Expedia.com and have been very satisfied both times I used this method. I also chose it after seeing the pics of it on the Expedia site as decor with style and colors I can live with is important to me. This small hotel was right up my alley. Nothing ostentatious, yet so sweet. The breakfast room was so cute with the French Country flair and the buffet breakfast every morning was wonderful. The best part was that we had a decent size bathroom and a tub. The hotel is kept up nicely and the street it was located on was nice too with convenience stores, supermarket and cafes.

“Good value and friendly service.”

In the past, I've stayed various small hotels in Paris. This time, I find this hotel with discount price for consective nights stay on Expedia. For Paris, it was great value for the room, the location and the friendly staff.

“Great little hotel in Paris - would definitely stay here”

Overall, excellent hotel! Rooms a bit small (my first room was tiny, but they changed me with no hassels at all), but very very clean. The manager is excellent, and is at the desk on days - very friendly and helpful. Had one issue with the man on duty Sat night - he was very rude, but that was not normal from what I experienced the week I stayed here. The rest of the desk staff were also very helpful and seemed to truly enjoy talking to us. Hotel is located 1.5 blocks from the Metro, and about 5 blocks from another station with 2 lines. There are a number of good restaurants in the area (Pizza Cesar is wonderful!), and also a grocery store, bakeries and a Starbucks if you really need your fix! The breakfast is basic - bread, croissant, cereal, coffee/tea and juice. Rooms are truly non-smoking, but the walls are a bit thin (I would recommmend ear plugs for light sleepers), and also there is no alarm clock in the room (they do provide wake up calls). Also, just a note you have to go up about 10 steps to get to the elevator so pack accordingly! Overall, I was really happy with this hotel, and would definitely stay here again, and highly recommmend it!

“We intend to stay at Le Grand Hotel des Gobelins again!”

Very good location, and very friendly service. The included breakfast was great. Reasonably quiet rooms with sound proofed windows.

“A Great Choice”

Great location, good service and very charming and quaint rooms. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our first trip to Paris.

“Perfect for someone traveling alone or first time to Paris”

I felt this was a very safe area for my first time to Paris and being a woman alone. I do not speak French, and couldn't have found a nicer staff to accomodate me. My room was very clean and comfortable. When you walk out the door it's a very residential tree lined street with grocery stores right next door. Bed was comfortable and water pressure in shower was amazing. Only thing was there was no other channels but CNN and BBC to watch, although they had many international channels. I found myself watching French movies and understanding the whole theme without knowing what they were saying. I highly recommend this place!

“Comfortable, convenient, great value!”

We stayed at the hotel during our one week trip to Paris. The hotel was very comfortable. The rooms are clean, the bed was a good size, and though the shower was small, this is normal for Paris hotels. The breakfast served every morning was a very nice touch. Very nice assortment, including baguettes, croissants, cereal, yogurt, tea, coffee, cheese, ham, and cooked fruit. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Les Gobelins metro stop, which was very convenient. The surrounding area is cute and safe. We would definitely stay here again.

“Would stay at this hotel again.”

We had an early flight arrival and our room was not ready. The hotel staff expedited having our room prepared for us for early check-in. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was helpful and very courteous. It was close to the a Metro stop. We were on a noisy street but was able to block the street noises by keeping the window closed and curtains drawn at night. We would stay at this hotel again.

“A real home away from home!”

Cannot express adequately my experience at this hotel. As a woman travelling on my own, I would recommend this to anyone old, young, children. The service was exceptional, the "continental" breakfast was above and beyond and the anchor of my day. The room was clean, clean, clean and the bathroom ooh la la. You are close to everything. A total French experience. To the staff, thank you!
