Hotel in ParisPosted Jun 30, 2015
No a good experience with the rooms. The TV didn't work and the rooms were too small. Thr staff were very frendly but Paris is a myth, everyone seems rude.

Very Parisian SpotPosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The location was great, front desk staff was amazing and we were comfortable in our room.
Cons: Shower curtain for the bathroom could be added so water doesn't spill out.
Location: Rue Mouffetard market is ten minutes away; you can get all sorts of fresh cheese, bread, fruits, meats. Best mussels were at Cafe Canon de Gobelins
We had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel des Gobelins. As newlyweds, we wanted to have a private, clean and "Paris" space but didn't want to break the bank. Our room was bigger than expected for Paris and we appreciated that we had enough space for two suitcases and carry-ons and space to move around. We were on the 6th floor which had a great view but we took the stairs in the mornings since the elevators were heavily in use (we are from Toronto and are used to elevators going 48 floors in a minute!). The hotel's concierge staff was always accommodating and helped us with directions, calling taxis and generally discussing our daily plans. They were also so nice when I tried my rusty French with them. We were very pleased with the location as we felt like we were in residential Paris (no tourist traps nearby) and when we went for meals at close by cafes, we were around local Parisians. Breakfast was also included at the hotel which makes a huge difference when you want to splurge at dinner! We had a bit of trouble with the AC but this was also handled by my husband who doesn't speak French. We also noticed the shower isn't ideal for anyone over 6 feet/big in the shoulders.

Small hotel, accessible to city centrePosted Jun 29, 2015
Most Paris hotel rooms are small, and this one certainly fits the bill on that front. It is very accessible to the city centre, close to Les Gobelins and Campo Formio on lines 5 and 7 and a 30 minute walk from the Luxembourg Gardens. Given that we went for a city break, the vast majority of the time is spent away from the hotel. The size of the room doesn't matter too much therefore, but do be prepared for it. The breakfast is relatively small and basic as well, though in the summer heat you don't want to be overly full for walking around! I'd still recommend the hotel due to it's accessibility and that small rooms are fairly typical in Paris.

OK HOTELPosted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, good location.
Cons: Up grade the wireless
Location: This hotel was in walking distance of the RER, the Metro, outdoor markets, Notre Dame, the Batabus, and restuarants
Friendly staff, clean room, close to public transportation. Breakfast was included in our stay . Hotel had skaffling around the front when we stayed there. Wi-Fi did not work during our visit.

A great stay in ParisPosted Jun 13, 2015
Pros: It was a small, cozy, friendly hotel in a nice historic building, on the Boulevard St Marcel, close to the metro and local shops
Cons: Some of the fixtures and fittings in the room were showing their age a little and could be spruced up with a touch of paint.
Location: The Canon des Gobelins cafe at the end of the street was great for meals and people watching. Local Bakeries are worth a look for the fabulous cakes!
Stayed here for 4 nights, on a B&B basis in June 2015. Our room was on floor 6 with a city view across to Montparnasse and the Eiffel Tower. The front of the hotel is currently being renovated so scaffolding slightly blocked the view. However, we were out of the hotel all day, so never saw or heard any of the renovating works anyway. Although our room was small, it contained everything we needed, including a small safe. The bathroom was a good size with a shower cubicle and the usual amenities. The breakfast buffet was continental style, and the newly added coffee machine (installed during our stay!) offered a choice of hot beverages. The staff were welcoming and friendly and spoke excellent English (and so kindly acknowledged my attempt at speaking what little French I know). There is a left luggage facility, and the staff will assist with any tours, questions etc. The neighbourhood was really nice, with a mix of local shops, a Carrefour supermarket, bakeries, cafes and restaurants all within a couple of minutes walk. The nearest metro is Les Gobelins on line 7.

Sauberes Hotel - gut erreichbares HotelPosted Jun 10, 2015

Helpful multilingual staff.Posted Jun 2, 2015
The staff was very helpful. The hotel is being renovated, but we didn't notice any extra noise because of it. It's just a few blocks from the metro in a relatively quiet area. Small room, but nice sized bathroom for Paris.
