The hotel was very central and close to the riverPosted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: Our hotel was very central and it was clean but the most impressive thing about our hotel was our receptionist he was very helpful very friendly
Cons: I would like to see a fridge and facilities to make tea or coffee, maybe slippers to wear and curtains in the bathroom
Location: The location was very central the river was close and impressive antiques market not too far away

Really good locationPosted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: The location.
Location: Close to the metro and Rue de Mouffetard with street market and budget eating
This hotel was in a really good location close to the metro and the Latin quarter with plenty of affordable eating for anyone on a budget. The room was a little small but very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone hoping to visit 'real' Paris on a budget with its cobbled streets, bustling food stalls and corner cafe's.

good locationPosted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: Clean with polite staff
Cons: Air conditioning In the bedrooms? Fan in the bathroom to remove the steam and a better system to prevent water spraying over the floor on showering
Location: Near to metro Good restaurants within.walking distance
Ideally based for our stay as our daughter lives near by. Close to the metro and a good choice of restaurants within walking distance. The room was spotless as was the bathroom. Didn't have air conditioning and was on a busy road so it was I possible to leave the window open at night due to noise. However, the area was safe and I wo recommend it to friends.

Perfect romantic getaway.Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: The location. The staff. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a dual aspect.
Cons: Couldn't say. We didn't find fault with anything and definitely plan to return.
Location: At the junction of Avenue de Gobelins and Rue Saint Marcel. We found 2 excellent restaurants close by and a fantastic Artisan bakery across the road.
Took my wife to Paris last weekend for her birthday. The Grand Hotel des Gobelins was perfect for our needs. Ideally situated for exploring the city, yet quieter than being in the centre of Paris. Staff were incredibly welcoming, room was of a high standard for a 3 star with a substantial continental breakfast included.

An experience...Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Location was quiet but easy to find.
Cons: Staff, the day time guy was very helpful and polite.
Location: Could have windows open it was not too noisy
We travelled to Paris for just one night, to take my father for dinner at the Moulin Rouge, and a brief tour of Paris for his 70th Birthday. We arrived very late to the hotel, but i had called and said we were delayed, we stayed one night, 5 people over 2 rooms. We were given 2 keys for 2 rooms next to each other. My elderly parents in one room, and 3 adults (the daughters) in the room next door. My father opened the door to find 2 people fast asleep in the bed. They of course were shocked, but thankfully the couple in bed took it well and went straight back to sleep. We went back to reception and received no apology, just a 'oh well' shrug. The next room was empty but we all felt very insecure after that. Breakfast was 7.30 to 10.30 on a sunday morning, we arrived to the extremely small room at 9.25 and were told to go and wait in reception for 10 minutes. We were called through by the waitress to a table shortly. The coffee urn was empty so we pointed this out to the waitress who told us it was finished. Then she turned her back. One of our group went to reception and the manager came and argued with her and then put on some coffee himself. The room was full of uncleared tables and after we arrived at least 10 other people came for breakfast, only to be told (despite the fact that there was still another half and hour to go until breakfast was officially over) that there was no more. An elderly french couple sat at a dirty table, had to scavenge from abandoned bread baskets

Nice hotel in excellent location- rooms a little cramped and bed a little hard but lovely staff and overall would recommend it. Good breakfast and within walking distance to Notre Dame etc.

Lovely Stay at Hotel des GobelinsPosted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: The breakfasts are delicious and the staff goes above and beyond the call to duty!!
Cons: Being on a main boulevard, it can be noisy especially with a large hospital just behind the hotel.
Location: Wonderful shopping is nearby, an excellent grocery store and lots of places to eat or grab a bite. There are also several pharmacies near.
This is my second stay at this remarkable , little gem of a hotel. it is about an easy 12-15 minute walk to the Batobus, 3 minute walk to a lovely bistro down the street, close to a supermarket and wonderful shopping. The breakfast there are filling and delicious and the staff is marvelous. When I return to Paris (and I will again) I will be sure to book a room there again.

Good safe option for value in Paris.Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Clean and good location serviced by metro, market and restaurants.
Cons: Shower curtains on the bath, and perhaps a little more generosity at breakfast.
A comfortable, no nonsense experience which was good value for money. Rooms were clean and quite spacious for Paris. Bathrooms were very clean (although I'm still baffled as to why there were no shower curtains!) Breakfast, whilst serviceable, was a little limited but OK. If you are a family of four (like us) be aware that you will get two rooms which some may prefer, others may not. Location was close to a metro and some decent restaurants and a useful supermarket a few shops away.

Grand Hotel des Gobelins - Lovely HotelPosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Lovely generous continental breakfast.
Location: Hotel situated near the Latin quarter. Lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby. Rue Mouffetard area is nearby.
Stayed in hotel for 3 nights, on the 1st floor. It was perfect. Room was nice and clean, staff were very friendly, great location, a few minutes from des Gobelins underground station. Nice large double windows that both opened, and I couldn't hear any traffic outside when the windows were closed. Bathroom was really nice. Bed was perfect. I'd love to go back to Paris and would definitely stay here again!!
