Don’t do it
If the price was more reasonable, this would be a good deal. But with the prices it’s ridiculous how disgusting this place is. Very dirty, very loud, and the room smelled like sewage.

Two night transit stop
Two night stay, arrived very late(12:15am) due to issues with trains but really helpful at check in. Location great for metro (outside), plenty of bars/restaurants close by. Room ok, but light inside the door wasn't working. One of the bedside reading lights not working. Shaving mirror in bathroom broken on one side and large pieces missing. Bathroom could do with steam cleaning in corners. Have to comment on the lift - never seen a lift so small before 😁😁

A good price/quality/location choice
We are regular clients of the Hipotel Voltaire. The price/quality/location ratio works great for us. It is a no frills hotel, the rooms are very clean, spacious for Paris, and when possible you get an upgraded room. The staff is always nice, helpful and professional. Bathrooms are on the smaller side, but with good hot shower/pressure. Unlike most hotels of that category in Paris they provide an electric kettle with tea bags and instant coffee.

Convenient Location, but don't expect any service!
Location is convenient, and the room a good size, although very tired and very basic. It did the job, but it was expensive for what it is. The people in housekeeping and reception clearly don't do their job however. had to remind them daily for tea, towells, shampoo. ... and when approached, the guy on the desk at night was just plain rude and confrontational.

We needed a bed and a shower. It was clean and quiet, the fan was broken which we needed because it was very hot. The staff were great and very helpful.

We were in Paris for 6 days. The hotel is right by the Voltaire metro stop so very convenient for getting around and seeing the sights. The room was small but clean and worked well for us. Several cafes and bakeries near by for food as well as a “Fran Prix” for small grocery items.

The staff was very nice. The room was small but adequate. The bathroom had a very small shower and no place to put toiletries and was moldy. A few shelves in bathroom and shower would have made a big difference- please give this info to whoever is in charge. Thanks .

OMG....horrible place to stay. The worst bed you will ever sleep in. Bathroom stinks. Size so small that you need forward gear and reverse gear to get in and out. Elevator same way. Bed base still in cardboard and plastic. We stayed

Very noisy and bed wasn't made properly. Wifi was slow. The next morning when housekeeping was done for other rooms, doors were banging every 1 second with no consideration for other guests.

Who rates these hotels it was rated at 3 stars I wouldn't give it any stars dirty floor in my room in front of bathroom felt like it would collapse if I stood on it too long. Advertised with view of the city my view was of a commercial air conditioning unit in a back alley. Asked for ice cubes had no ice maker front desk had a mini fridge that had I ice cube tray but nothing to put the ice in. Would never recommend this place

Okay for a short stay
The staff were great and the cleaners did a great job inside the room. They even went as far as to hang our coats up inside the cupboard and clear the floor of bits and pieces into the various cubbyholes. Unfortunately, even though the rooms looked clean, the bathroom had no ventilation (a hole where the window used to exist had been boarded up). This meant the room smelled strongly of damp, even though it looked spotless. Acoustics were also terrible, the occupants next door almost sounded like they were in the room. Although our room was facing away from the main road and noise from the streets was non-existent. The hotel itself is very close to the Voltaire metro station (30 second walk from the door). This station is one of the more equipped stations and includes a ticket booth and machine.

Bedbugs seen on last morning of trip!
Overall as expected... until I found a bedbug, in the bathroom of all places. Bathroom also smelled like an overflowing sewer.

The worst place we have ever stayed in, in our lives. Do not book this 'hotel' - no matter what the website says. Let's start with the least important: there were no tea-making facilities in the room. The bed was not like the photographs - it was low, small, the mattress was hard and very few pillows were provided. The one blanket provided was cheap and nasty. The walls were the thinnest I have ever seen - everything our neighbours did (and said) could be heard perfectly loudly. They frequently came in at three in the morning. This room (like all the rest in the 'hotel') was worse than any we have ever stayed in - even the hostels we stayed in during our back-packing days. This was the most depressing place we have ever stayed in. No matter how cheap it is, for your own sake, do NOT book this 'hotel' ever!

A decent and nice located hotel
We were in Paris for a couple of nights and the hotel was suitable for our needs. Even if our room was above the boulevard Voltaire, there was no noise coming to the room. The staff was nice and professional. It should be noted that the correct metro station for the hotel is Voltaire.

Small, Misleading, No Fan/ Air Conditioner....
The photos on the site does not match what the hotel rooms really look like to me. I got a 2 bedroom. When I got there, the employee told me that I had to pay extra because the room is only for one person. I was travelling with a co worker. I said but its a 2 bedroom and showed him my confirmation. He said that is a preference. I said well I paid the amount of a two bedroom so that's what i want or give me back my money. After going back and forth he waived the extra cost and I went on my way. I was on the 3rd or 4th I believe. the elevator is smaller then my closet. Its the size of a pantry. I got to the room and it was small. Prepare to walk in sideways. The type of room that if there are 2 people in it then you have to walk one at a time. sure enough the room had 2 twin sized beds and they were maybe 3 inches apart from each other. I was traveling with another guy. Its uncomfortable, and I like to be the big spoon. The bathroom was small. I mean if you sit on the toilet your knees will touch the sink or walls. The shower was so small that you are wedged in between the shower curtains and the walls. No Iron. No Air conditioner. No fan. The location is great though. Close to transportation.
