Handy location

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Room cleanliness and comfort
Cons: Lift and door maintenance
Location: Next to Gare De Lyon station, bus stops, and Hop on/off bus, good restaurants nearby. Bastille within 5 minutes, 45 min walk along sienne to Notre Dam
Could not get into the room till after 17.00 - lift to 7th floor didn't work for 3 days out of 5 that we were there - There was an alternative lift that took you to the 6th floor and then we had to use the fire escape. Front autodoor kept on sticking Right next door to a sex shop

Holiday Inn Bastille- Great location

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast, though quite comprehensive as far as buffets go, sucked.
Location: Paris is a very walkable city. You are only a couple of blocks away from the Seine, which has beautiful walkways;Bastille, transportation.
The staff is very accomodating, bilingual (ie. English and French), and the hotel is in a great location. The metro is less than a block away and the bus lines in front of the hotel and around the corner for all areas of interest. The entire trip was a dream--the only "down" side, and it wasn't that bad was the Paris Marathon. Forget about trying to get into anything over that weekend (first Sunday in April)--way too many people. But that was the only time there was a crowd. Perfect time to go! Everything was in bloom and the weather was light jacket.

A nice hotel close to the supermarket!

Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: I liked the cleanliness and the quick response to the queries on the phone from the hotel room which is a plus point.
Cons: Definitely the breakfast needs to be improved. There was not much choice for those who keep halal or vegetarian. There were limited items to choose.
Location: There is a beautiful garden and zoo inside which your kids would love to go and play around.
A nice and clean hotel. However the sex shop near the hotel is not a pleasant sight. This hotel is close to the station but some taxi drivers take you from a longer route to make more money. The breakfast experience was good but people having breakfast gave us dirty looks since I had two little boys aged 3 months and 2.5 year. As my son wasn't quite ready to stay in the dinning hall and was throwing tantrums making it really difficult for us to have our breakfast. But what i didnt like was the attitude of people towards a little child .I really got upset and decided not to go for breakfast at all on the third and last day of our stay. Although the check in was quite smooth but they expected us to carry our own luggage which i would mind but they could see we were two ladies with a suitcase and two little children with their prams. Therfeore I had to request for assistance which they happily provided. The staff was quite helpful and spoke English . The breakfast table needs to have labels that should clearly state whether it is vegetarian or not. They need to improve the bread options as it was so limited .

Stylish hotel

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Very french in style and very comfortable.
Cons: See above
Location: Very busy area with lots of good reasonably priced restaurants nearby.Well placed for connections within Paris and beyond
This is our third visit to this hotel. We love the art deco rooms. Very French in style! the public rooms are very well decorated but the bedrooms are now showing signs of age and could do with a face lift.

If you are a IHG platinum member they don't upgrade in anyway. Attitude of staff is terrible. Won't stay here again.

Nice hotel and great location

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: WiFi, not every room has strong signal. Room size, it's a bit small, but it seems very common for many city hotels.
Location: Easily walk to Notre Dame.
It's a really nice hotel and very close to the Gare de Lyon. Easily walks to many attractions in the central Paris.
