“Cozy in the heart of the 7th arr.”
A cozy little place about 2 blocks from the Invalides. Walking distance to the Eiffel tower, Champs Elysee and Place de la Concord. Neighborhood is safe, but a bit noisier than expected. Rooms are small, but the beds are reasonably comfortable and the space sufficient for two. The best part of the place is the front desk staff, all whom go out of their way to make sure your stay in Paris is comfortable. Pros: Location, Desk staff Cons: Wifi only works in lobby. This is a two star hotel, but I would definitely stay again.
“Walking distance to Eiffel Tower”
The location of this place is awesome, walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and a short walk from the Metro station. The staff was very nice and helpful but the place did not have an elevator because it is so tiny which will require you to lift your luggage upstairs. The hotel makes you leave your room key every time you go out, which is kind of weird but I experience a similar policy in Venice. The bathroom is really nice but the room is quite plain. The floor of our room was kind of slanted which was kind of weird as well but did not affect our stay.
“Excellent low-cost option in wonderful area”
I was thrilled to find this hotel in the 7th arrondissement in Paris. This hotel is in a wonderul area close to the Eiffel Tower and Rue Cler. The neighborhood is quiet,, has many shops and restaurants, and is not overridden with tourists. The hotel itself is definitely a no-frills experience, but for the reasonable price and location it is worth it. The room is quite small, but it was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable. The room we were in had new wood laminate flooring, which is much nicer than many hotel rooms with dirty stained carpet. The bathroom was small, although I believe that is to be expected in Paris. The staff was friendly and spoke English very well. If you aren't looking to spend a lot of time in your hotel room while in Paris, this is an excellent option.
“Could do better”
Tiny bathroom where the shower leaked all over the floor. Also no elevator, making carrying luggage difficult up 3 stories. Receptionist was not very helpful with tourist questions and location could have been better. Would recommend others to look for something better for the same price.
“Hotel Amelie Paris, June 2010”
I found out on very short notice that I would have a week in Paris, so I looked for a place that would be convienent, good location and inexpensive. Hotel Amelie reviews were good so I booked for 7 nights. The people who worked at the front desk were great, in particular, Anita and Ibrahim. My room was very small, but very clean and the bathroom was recently updated with all new fixtures, although small. No elevator so be prepared to drag you bag up the stairs, also no A/C or fam. A few nights were very warm which made for difficult sleeping especially the night there was a loud party in the neighborhood. Breakfast was simple but good and as I was traveling by myself, I met some great people while eating. Overall , I really enjoyed my stay and at a very reasonable rate, in the 7th, right around the corner from Rue Cler, a great place.to know about. I will definitely think about staying there again and I would also recommend to folks who are on a budget.
“Paris March, 2010”
Hotel was as described in other reviews - small, no elevator. However, I knew that before I checked in, so no complaints. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the street but the noise from traffic was minimal. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent-priced hotel in a good location. However, if the staff recommends booking a taxi for you to take to the airport, allow an extra hour. The one they called for us was 45 minutes late.
“Friendly Hotel in Nice Location”
Would certainly recommend this hotel. It has a nice central location - close to everything you need (including public transportation access). Small rooms, but clean and comfortable. Friendly multi-lingual management - very helpful.
“BEST Price-Perforamce!!!”
Best price-performance hotel. Great price, excellent location. Rooms are very small, very basic, clean, with no elevator. Carrying your luggage through the narrow stairs can be hard, especially if you suck at packing like me. Located 5 min walk of Eiffel Tower, which can be seen one block away. 3 min walk Metro station. Few blocks from the river (great walk!). Walking distance Champs Elysse. Reception people are great. Made every effort to speak English or Spanish (depending on who was at the desk). Went the extra mile when I asked about museum passes, trains, buses, etc. Took care of our bags the day we left after chek out.
“Quaint hotel was perfect.”
The hotel was perfect for my son and I to lay our heads after a busy sightseeing day. Staff very friendly and the room though small was comfortable with our own bathroom and shower.. Several minutes from the Metro which was wonderfully convenient. And five minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. Bakery just around the corner for breakfast. Would definately recommend to fellow travelers on a budget.
“The smallest room in the best location”
Staying at the Amelie was like staying in a shoebox but in the best location in Paris... literally 5 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, and you can see it from the street (but not the room). The room is tiny. The bed takes up most of the space. The good news is the rooms are newly renovated so everything is new and clean with an excellent bathroom/shower (though small it is rather spacious compared to the bedroom). I'd avoid the breakfast. Basically a cup of tea and croissants but they charge you 9 Euro (that's almost $12US). Better to go 2 minutes to Rue Cler, which is one of the most famous streets for markets, food and restaurants. This area is terrific. You have Rue Cler, the Eiffel Tower, and the Metro is also 2 mins away. So it's centrally located. There is wifi in the lobby (but not in the rooms if you are staying on the 3rd floor). No elevator and a tiny spiral staircase so note that for disabled or elderly.
