Bad backpacker accomodation at best

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Cons: Make sure what you advertise on Expedia is actually what this hotel provides.
Although this hotel is within walking distance to Notre dame, it is a horrible, dirty part of Paris. This was not my first time to Paris and unfortunately this hotel and area took away my great impressions of first visit. Superior room was unbelievably small, couldn't close door while on toilet or open window doors as not enough space. Towels smelt revolting, like wet dog. Room decor was nice but weathered, rotten holes in floor. Was like backpacker style, no hand towels etc, very basic. I would avoid staying here and I have backpacked around the world. Also no wifi in rooms as advertised.

Alright hotel w/metro access no in room wifi

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Easy metro access and lots of restaurants nearby.
Cons: Wifi in the rooms, but barring that making sure it's actually functunal in public areas. Do something about hte smell in the bathrooms.
Location: The Gare du Nord is within walking distance as are a few other attractions if you don't mind stretching your legs. There are a ton of places to eat!
It was okay, the bathroom smelled pretty awful and was tiny as was the room. There is no in room wifi and the hotel lobby wifi stopped working shortly after I arrived which they said was a "common problem" and it wasn't fixed during my two night stay. The breakfast is wildly overpriced, avoid it. The lift is also miniscule, so I would definitely not recommend for more than 1 or 2 nights if you have any luggage to speak of it will not fit. I just had a backpack so it wasn't an issue but keep it in mind. That being said, I wasn't miserable with my stay and there is public wifi in the Place de Republique nearby from 7 am to 8 pm. Check in at the Hotel Taylor next door isn't much of a hassel and they'll let you stash your luggage. If you are just doing a quick weekend trip this isn't a bad bet although a little hard to spot Rue Taylor of the Rue Rene Boulanger (?). Keep an eye out for a white archway on the right if you're coming from Republique.

Nice staff, ok conditions

The hotel is worth the money you get. It's cheap and clean feeling. However, it's in need of remodeling. It's big for Paris standards.

One night stopover

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Quite close to Gare du Nord which is why I used it. No air con, quiet street. Would use again for stopover not sure about a longer stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Tiniest room i've ever stayed in!!! Had to jump over beds as couldnt walk round outside of bed, too close to the wall. Couldnt bend down in the shower it was so small! No air-con. No wifi (free or othetwise), as was advertised as a feature of hotel.

Great location and nice furnishings

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Location and furnishings.
Cons: Room size was disappointing - we could barely move around in the room. Also there was no wifi in the rooms
Great location and nice furnishings, shame about the tiny room size and no wifi in rooms

The smell of mold

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: The staff members where really nice and helpful.
Cons: The mold !!!! must be cleaned out, and the smell in the room !!
Location: located near the Republic plaza, lots of restaurant and shopping.
The hotel is located 6 minutes walk from the reppublic plaza, as you exit the hotel to the left there are 2 homeless that sleeps there, one of each side of the road. The room is tiny, and as you open the door the smell of mold hit you, the bath is miniature, and the ceiling is full of mold. if you open the window there is a school just next to the hotel, and a renovation of the next building, so you can hear the construction during the day. As for the staff members, they where really nice and helpful.
