Cute and pleasant hotel in the heart of ParisPosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: old hotel with elegant characters. with elevator. free and speedy wi-fi in quite dining room. kettle to make coffee/tea. passcode for entry. safe.
Cons: it will be nice if AC is available, then i can close the window and get rid of the cigarette smoke from next door. mold in the bathroom can be fixed.
Location: walking distance to Gare du Nord stations and the Lafayette district - many stores and good bargain. can walk to Rue de Rivoli and walk around river
nice location - not expensive to travel to and from airport. can walk to Sacre-Coeur Basilica, Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and the legendary Galeries Lafayette. i only needed 3 metro tickets for the 3-day stay - to return to the hotel after many hours of walking. The staff I met is very friendly. free city map and helpful directions. near 3 metro stations.

Renovation happeningPosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: It's location
Cons: The rooms, they have no tea or coffee making facilities. Sound proof doors as well.
Location: Loads of cafés, some good some not, the metro is close by as is La Poste.
While the location of this hotel is great, the actual room was not. It had silver fish in the bath room, smelt damp, and the smell permeated the whole room, and bedding. There is Jo air conditioning and I suspect the damp smell is due to there being a water leak in the bathroom. The room was very small, we could just get our three bags in and no more. The first disappointment I have had in Paris.

Pleasant stayPosted Jul 22, 2014
I stayed in hotel annexe for five nights this July. We were pleased with its location, verrrry close to the metro station, republique. The room we were first assigned was extremely small, barely any room to move; however it was very clean. During our stay, it was in the 30 degree Celsius range every day. We soon realised that the radiator in our room was on, hence why we could not sleep. So on the second day we alerted the staff, who swiftly moved us to another room without question. This new room was much nicer, more spacious and it had a fan as well. We were slightly disappointed that the wifi did not reach up to the rooms but the lobby area was nice to sit in for half an hour in the evening to use the internet. Overall, I was pleased with the hotel, the staff were friendly and did what they could to help. For the price that was paid, I couldn't have asked for much more!

convenient location but very snugPosted Jul 11, 2014
bathroom is very small and the bed mattress isn't very supportive, nor were the pillows. very thin walls. other rooms' door slams a lot.

Bad backpacker accomodation at bestPosted Jul 8, 2014
Cons: Make sure what you advertise on Expedia is actually what this hotel provides.
Although this hotel is within walking distance to Notre dame, it is a horrible, dirty part of Paris. This was not my first time to Paris and unfortunately this hotel and area took away my great impressions of first visit. Superior room was unbelievably small, couldn't close door while on toilet or open window doors as not enough space. Towels smelt revolting, like wet dog. Room decor was nice but weathered, rotten holes in floor. Was like backpacker style, no hand towels etc, very basic. I would avoid staying here and I have backpacked around the world. Also no wifi in rooms as advertised.

Alright hotel w/metro access no in room wifiPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Easy metro access and lots of restaurants nearby.
Cons: Wifi in the rooms, but barring that making sure it's actually functunal in public areas. Do something about hte smell in the bathrooms.
Location: The Gare du Nord is within walking distance as are a few other attractions if you don't mind stretching your legs. There are a ton of places to eat!
It was okay, the bathroom smelled pretty awful and was tiny as was the room. There is no in room wifi and the hotel lobby wifi stopped working shortly after I arrived which they said was a "common problem" and it wasn't fixed during my two night stay. The breakfast is wildly overpriced, avoid it. The lift is also miniscule, so I would definitely not recommend for more than 1 or 2 nights if you have any luggage to speak of it will not fit. I just had a backpack so it wasn't an issue but keep it in mind. That being said, I wasn't miserable with my stay and there is public wifi in the Place de Republique nearby from 7 am to 8 pm. Check in at the Hotel Taylor next door isn't much of a hassel and they'll let you stash your luggage. If you are just doing a quick weekend trip this isn't a bad bet although a little hard to spot Rue Taylor of the Rue Rene Boulanger (?). Keep an eye out for a white archway on the right if you're coming from Republique.

Nice staff, ok conditionsPosted Jun 22, 2014
The hotel is worth the money you get. It's cheap and clean feeling. However, it's in need of remodeling. It's big for Paris standards.

One night stopoverPosted Jun 16, 2014
Quite close to Gare du Nord which is why I used it. No air con, quiet street. Would use again for stopover not sure about a longer stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
