First, I booked a non-smoking room and they gave me a smoking one. Second, the hotel is very dirty. Hair on the bathtub and on the bed, stains on the sheets. Third, I could not even complain about the first two issues because the people working at the hotel do not seem to understand or make an effort for solving them. Do you want to sleep on dirty sheets? Go ahead..

I am a gold member. I had a problem at the checkout with my credit cards which did not work at the moment, so I could not pay with them and could not withdraw either. The staff talked to the Expedia customer representatives which guaranteed for me and asked them if I could pay by providing them the number of another card that I did not physically have at the moment but had already used on their web site (so it was something very secure). They refused. So, I offered to do a wire transfer in front of them (so they could see the money leaving my account and going to their account), calling my bank and make the Director of the Bank talk to them so they could feel safe. They refused again. Then, they called the police which took me to a police station, where I stayed for 5 hours. The policemen did not speak English and were treating me like the worst of the murderers (saying to shut up everything I was saying even if I was using in a very polite way and that I was going to spend the night there and maybe I could make it to the next day). I do not want to add anything more. The worst thing is that the manager of the hotel came to the station and was aware of everything was happening. Do not give your money to these bad and rude people. They do not deserve it.

Friendly staff, very convenient location, between Gare due Nord and Gare de l'Est. Breakfast was expensive.

The wrong side of Paris

Posted Jul 29, 2010 on Hotels.com
When I booked this hotel, I did so in order to be close to Gare du Nord, and in comfort for my sole night in Paris, without spending excessively for what was effectively a stop over. This hotel does not meet the standards of a 3 star hotel, to me. Drastically understaffed at all times, on the night of my arrival the receptionist was also the bartender and cook. Despite being apparently quite multitalented, the same gentlemen offered me no assistance with my bags or to my room, nor any considered decorum in manner. I had intended to wander in search of a bar to read in, but was so unnerved by the appearance of the area I did not leave the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel, especially to anyone staying with children.

Handy for the station...

A fine hotel for the price we paid, very convenient for Gare du Nord & Gare de l'Est. The area is pretty seedy though, decent restaurants are at least a metro or velib ride away. Other than that, a good budget choice.

Area around the hotel is not very agreeable, but the hotel is close enough to be safe. Perfect for taking an early train or arriving late at night.

I guess I shouldn't have expected much because of the price but I didn't expect it to be so dirty. The only hotel I stayed in in France and Italy where I actually didn't want to shower. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is right next to the train station and the front desk is really helpful.
