Ideal for tourist city break

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The staff and the location
Cons: No
Location: Close to Sacre coerce and the Moulin Rouge. Not far from the metro stations
This small but typical partisan hotel is set in a wonderful location between sacre course and the moulin rouge. The staff were really friendly, the hotel was very clean and it was really lovely. The area is fab with bars and cafés along the main road. Tried many and the food was fab. The hotel has a small lift up to rooms and a breakfast area if you prefer to eat in although we ate in cafés or at the local bakery. Couldn't fault it was really lovely and in a gret location.

friendly hotel at a great location

Pros: location, room, hotel staff
Cons: wifi
Location: one of the nicest streets, great bars around the hotel
the first room we got was quite dark, but then we asked for another one, the hotel staff was absolutely helpful and friendly, and we could move to another room on the next day, which was perfect. the location is great, but quite busy at night too, so might need earplugs for sleeping. rooms are nice and cleaned every day, you will need some patience for the wifi...

Most enjoyable experience

Pros: Having a lift that worked as we were on the 4th floor was a definite plus. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very helpful. Nice clean room.
Location: Situated in a little side street off the main thoroughfare where it all happens at night. Lovely interesting area, loads of eateries!
Stayed here for a week. No complaints at all, very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was clean and tidy and early breakfast was adequate to start the day off. The staff spoke enough English and we spoke enough French to get by very well. Perfectly located for the local nightlife and a miriad of small eating places literally within minutes. Any questions we had were dealt with in a very helpful and often humorous way and the staff were most helpful when ordering a taxi for us on a Sunday to get us to the train station on time. We would stay here again.

OK for 1 night, but avoid if possible

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: The room safe was big enough to easily get my laptop in it. The bathroom looked like it had recently been renovated it was very bright and clean.
Cons: The should change the bed linens between customers. I informed them of the issues with the shower and window so hopefully they have taken care of it.
Location: Moulin Rouge is only a couple of blocks away and it is maybe a 15 min walk, uphill, to Sacre Coeur. Many small restaurants in the vicinity
The room I was put into was big enough for 1 person, but 2 would have been crowded. The room was warm when I got there so I opened the window for a lovely view of a open air maintenance area. There was a room window on the other side of the area as well so if the window was left open unattended during the day or at night then it is possible someone could come across the area easily and enter the room. The shower fixture in the bathroom was loose on the wall and I had to put most of my weight against the window to lock it closed. A small person would have a lot of trouble getting the window closed. The walls are thin and I could hear much of went on in nearby rooms. The bed cover had a lot of hair on it, but other than that the room looked clean. Very narrow hallways force you to turn sideways when passing others. The entry to the 3 rooms on my end of the hotel was very small. If someone was locking or unlocking their room then you had to wait until they were done and moved out of the entryway to get out of or enter your room

Pros: VERY clean! Close to 3 metro stations which made getting around Paris a breeze. Right in the heart of Montmartre so it's close to sights like the Moulin Rouge, Sacré Couer, and tonnes of other little interesting things. Con: VERY small hotel room, the bed took up 80% of the space and the washroom was more like a closet, but honestly for the price I paid I can't complain about it, and the cleanliness and amazing location of the hotel MORE than made up for the tiny space. Plus, if you're in Paris you're not going to be spending much time in your hotel anyways because there is so much to see and do! Also, the front desk staff were very kind and helpful! One of them helped me figure out how to take the train to Versailles for a day trip! They don't speak very good English though, just enough to get by.

great location and great hotel

We have been to Paris to short gateway from London. Hotel is in super lively neighborhood with lot of bars and eateries very nice to have late night walk and pop in for a drink. Location of hotel is great for transport either by metro or buses to explore Paris. Room is big enough as you not going to spend too much time there anyway. Bathroom for Paris standard is huge and looks much better than on photos.

Nice spot with good rooms for a decent price

This hotel is very nice, although I believe that I was fortunate to land one of the nicest rooms in the hotel, in the corner on the fourth floor. The place looks like a dump when one enters the lobby, and the unusable stairs and small elevator, as well as dark hallways, do not help one's perception of the hotel. However, upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised, and I ultimately stayed there one night longer than I initially planned to stay. The hardwood floors in the rooms are newly redone, there was a large desk in my room that was comfortable for working and was accompanied outlets on either side of it (European hotels can lack in this department). Additionally, the bathroom appeared to be newly retiled, and the shower, though small, was very nice and clean (full showers are rare in Europe, especially at non-luxury hotels). Beware, though, not all rooms are the same, despite the owner's assurances to the contrary. I was initially told that I needed to switch rooms upon booking an additional night, but the two rooms that I inspected were not as nice as my original rooms. The floors were worn and the desks were half of the size. However, the owner eventually relented and allowed me to keep my original room for the second night. Plus, the location near Moulin Rouge and that side of town was neat. Overall, it is a nice hotel for the cost, in my opinion.
