Great Hotel

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Location. Service. Staff
Cons: Facility upkeep
Location: Tuileries Gardens directly across the street. Louvre about 10 minute stroll away. L'opera about 15 minutes.
I chose the hotel primarily for the location, which cannot be beat. The center of everything. The immediate neighborhood has many high-end fashion shops and restaurants. But a short walk in almost any direction gets you to less expensive dining options. The hotel staff was very good and accommodating to our needs, traveling with a one and six year old. We had a crib and the couch in our room open and ready for us. They we also very helpful with general questions about the city and where to go for necessities, etc. Breakfast was good. An nice assortment of based pastries, cereal, bacon and eggs, cheeses and breads. My only critique would be on the upkeep of some items. The drains at our bathroom sinks were very slow and for worse as we stayed. The remote battery died. The toilet room also had a faint 'smell' despite being very clean. None of these issues would prevent me from coming back.

Excellent French boutique hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: Everything! The staff is friendly and attentive. Excellent location. Easy walk to most everything. Very clean, nice rooms.
Cons: I can't think of anything.
Location: Hotel is on Rue Rivoli, a street that is easily recognizable on the map. Right across from The Louvre, The Tulleries Garden, great cafes and shops.
My granddaughter and I stayed at the Brighton Hotel in Paris. I researched hotels for a very long time before choosing this one, and I feel I made the very best choice! I wanted a French boutique hotel, not an American chain, for my granddaughter's first trip to Paris. The Brighton is in a prime location: across from the Louvre, near the Concord (a great landmark), close to everything, including great cafes, and the metro. The staff is friendly, and really watched out for us. I would highly recommend the Brighton, and would love to come back!

Good value, and a pleasant place to stay.

Pros: All of above.
Cons: Scrambled eggs at breakfast going grey on the platter.
Location: Louvre, Tuileries, D'Orsay, Pompidou, Rodin museum, Arc triumph, Eiffel, Ronald McDonald's restaurant.
We didn't have a Tuileries room with a view, but it simply didn't matter, the rooms are clean, functional, a good size, tasteful and the hotel is perfectly positioned - close to everything you could want on a short trip to Paris. The staff are friendly and helpful - particularly the Brazillian porter, please remember though when tipping him that 2 euros in today's exchange is £2.40, but in Paris it's really only worth about £1.50......
