“Nice location”
This hotel was in a good location, near the Pantheon and Notre Dame, as well as good restaurants and the Latin Quarter. The room was clean, the bathroom was roomy and had a nice tub and shower. There was even a towel warmer in the bathroom, which was nice. The only down side was that the while in the room you could hear the people in the rooms nextdoor. Unfortunately, one of my neighbors came in at 3:30 a.m. and was talking and laughing and I couldn't sleep through the noise. The walls are thin. But other than that, I enjoyed the stay and the hotel staff were accommodating and pleasant.
“Latin Quarter is the place to be”
Hotel California is located in the best part of Paris. The Latin Quarter area is where it is happening. Best part of the hotel is open air farmers market just around the corner from the hotel. Don't eat the over priced breakfast in the hotel; just walk down to the market.
“Hotel California - Don't go here”
Dirty, disgusting, cramped room. Moldy bathroom. Small is an understatement. Postage stamp is a better description. Our room was so disgusting that we asked for another. After being shown another room, we found it to be even more filthy with mold EVERY where, not just the bathroom. The front desk was no help as he would not provide new, clean sheets or pillowcases because "the cleaning staff is only here from 9-3pm and I don't do any of their work." Note that we only asked for the sheets and covers, not that he put them on. He would not leave the desk to get new sheets. This IS NOT a 3 star hotel. A Motel 6 would be better and cleaner. Do not waste your money at the Hotel California.
“Friendly, honest, helpful staff”
This hotel is simple and weathered. While it would seem overpriced for what you get, it is, after all, Paris. The room was spare but clean, the air conditioning and tiny lift were in working order. The staff were patient, kind and knowledgeable. The location is amazing: right in the Latin Quarter next to the Sorbonne, just a couple of blocks off the main thoroughfare. Easy walking distance to Notre Dame and the Hop On/Hop Off Bus, plenty of shopping and restaurants. Check out the Shakespeare Bookstore.
“Excellent Place to Stay in St. Germain”
This hotel is small but very close to everything. Our room was clean and we had a balcony that opened to the street. The staff was very helpful arranging for local trips and a shuttle bus to the airport. A great location!
“In the heart of it all”
Hotel California Saint Germain was in a fantastic location with a number of Metro stations available. The rooms were clean and the service we received from the front counter staff was brillant.
“Sheila M. from Portland, Oregon”
This place was fabulously located for getting around Paris. Room and bathroom were small (but does one really go to Paris to sit in a hotel room!) but very clean. I had a small balcony which was perfect for sitting in the evenings. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful from borrowing their wine opener to getting me set up with a shuttle to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are OK with basics and planning to spend most of your time seeing Paris! Very affordable as well.
“Excellent location!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Our family of 4: 2 adults and two teens stayed here for a week. Location was excellent! Would definitely stay here again. No frills. Great price. Great location. Short walk to metro, crepes, Sorbonne, Pantheon and tons more.
“A Good Place to Stay if OK with Riding Metro to City”
Clean hotel with friendly staff. It's real close to a metro station too.
“Writer finds Hotel to provide Perfect Office Situation”
Because of noise and construction going on in the building next door to where I live in Paris, I decided to find a hotel room in the local vicinity in which to set up a daytime writer's office at a reasonable price. That is how and why I discovered this particular hotel. The hotel satisfied all of my needs, including a comfortable desk and chair. My only suggestion is that the hotel offer coffee throughout the day. Only breakfast was served in this particular hotel. I carried in additional cups of coffee and munchies, and I brought in an additional desk light.
