Weird hotel where they confiscate your room swipe card EVERY day. You are not allowed to take the swipe card of your own room with you! The main aim of the front-desk staff appears to be to police such swipe keys and not really to provide any service

It’s absolutely incredible how a place like this can exist! Complete rip off for the quality of service! Dirty from top to bottom! Booked 3 nights, had leave after 1! STAY AWAY!!

Meh.
Woman at the front desk was rude. She unlocked and came into my room unannounced with her key without even knocking to ask towels got used. Sheets also were not changed in 4 night stay. There was a fan in the shower that squeaked all night till I put a pencil in it. Said it was smoke free but stunk of cigarettes (especially the towels). Wifi was good and maids were kind, friendly man at the desk was very helpful and got me a cab but I would not stay here again.

Nice place, connections is good but the cleanings services is poor.... Very poor.... Staff is is lovle and nice. Just i don't understand way have to come back to. The room till 1am night :/// and left the key in reception.... :((

Good location, acceptable facility
Location is excellent, lots of places to eat and within walking distance of Montparnasse station. Hotel is modest but well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would go back to this location.

Tiny rooms but the beds were comfy
Our kids got to experience a “classic” Paris hotel experience. Small rooms with creaky follows and no AC. Was not hot so we were fine, but this place is very dated.

Great location budget hotel.
Very good location, certainly a budget hotel, but you get what you pay for. Most staff quite helpful, but its an older building so has some flaws.

Great location, a few minutes from Montparnase
A cosy little room but it was single. I asked for a quiet room and had one at the back, a perfect sleep. Friendly staff.

Could use improvement
We had a lot of luggage and were pretty disappointed to find the elevator not working upon leaving. The room was fine. Small, but we knew that coming in. Also, when we came in after dinner, rather than greeting us, the man at the desk looked at us like, who are you and why are you here? I pressed the button to go up and he said, "Wait, are you staying here?" And I was taken aback and said yes. Turns out, you are supposed to leave the key at the desk when you leave and pick it back up when you return. Would have been helpful for me to know that information, and would have avoided an uncomfortable and irritating situation upon returning home. If the desk staff had been friendly, it would have made a world of difference.

Handy Location
We were very happy with our recent stay at the Hotel Celtic. It was in a very handy position and close to a Metro, the rooms we had were comfortable and a good size by Paris standards, the bed was also very comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good value but the service was rather slow on the morning that we had it and we had to ask for our coffee - it seemed to have been forgotten. We would stay at the Hotel Celtic again.

The welcome - There was none. After a 25 hour flight, we arrived at the hotel at 10am and were told to return at 2pm. No offer of early check in (I would have paid extra, we were exhausted). But hey, perhaps the place was full? Let's give them the benefit of the doubt. We walked around Paris for 4 hours and returned at 2pm for a shower and a much needed nap. At 230pm, the hammering started in an adjacent room. It was accompanied by an electric drill... We told reception we were trying to sleep and the response? "Don't worry about it". It continued for 2 hours...  The room - could possibly be the worst room I have ever stayed in, ever. This place is truly, truly rubbish and in desperate need of refurbishment. Noise - The walls are paper thin so you hear every movement. We were woken at 1am to the sound of our (very excited, possibly related to a rabbit) neighbour's carnal relations. The good - the bed was pretty comfy (or we were just exhausted).

Best budget hotel in Paris!
Small, simple, family-run hotel in Montparnasse close to Metro, grocery, restaurants and anything else you need. Nothing fancy, but for the price, you shouldn't expect luxury. Seasoned travelers will relish the charm and proximity to everything. My room had a balcony, fireplace, and great view. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Amenities were few, but, again, the price reflects that. My only complaint would be other guests who were loud in halls and stairwell, but that isn't the fault of Hotel Celtic. This was probably my 10th trip to Paris, and I've stayed in cheap hotels that were awful. This was NOT one of those times. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

One nighter at Hotel Celtic
We were only there one night, wanted a hotel close to Gare Montparnasse. The hotel is in an older building which could use a little refreshing but manages to keep it's old world appeal. We don't like too modern,efficient buildings so this was perfect for us. It had two little window balconies, lots of night life and life in general, Montparnasse is extremely busy,lots to see and do, perfect for just walking around and taking it all in.

I came back to hotel at 1am and hotel outdoor was locked. I couldn't get in for 15 minutes until someone came. It was very scary as I was solo female. Bedding was dirty.

Very nice with good location.
This were a great European style hotel for on overnight stay. It was inexpensive and located right in Montparnasse, close to the Montparnasse train station and the Tour Montparnasse. We could even see the Tour Eiffel peaking out from our balcony. The hotelier spoke English and there were plenty of tasty cafes, patisseries, and brasseries nearby. It's close to several metro stops. There is also an open air market on Edgar Quinet. The only down point is if you happen to stay on a Friday evening, the Paris trash collectors start their rounds at 6:30am Saturday and it's quite loud. All in all, a nice place to stay for an overnight.

Hotel Celtic Patris
We were informed prior to booking that the hotel rooms included a fridge, mini-bar, safe, TV and WIFI. There was no fridge, there was no mini-bar. there was a safe but it could not be used. The WIFI was on when we arrived but was then off for a day and a half, only coming back on the morning that we left. The night porter was quite helpful but the daytime staff were not very accommodating. We would definitely NOT stop there again.

I had a four-night stay at Celtic. The hotel is conveniently located. It is close to two metro stations. There are a lot of eateries offering different types of cuisine in the neighbourhood. Despite being a small hotel, Celtic is equipped with a lift, which is useful to travellers with heavy luggage.

OK for one night. Very lively neighborhood at night. We used this hotel as a convenient location to Gare Montparnasse station and then taking the Air France Bus to the airport the next morning. A little to cramped for a long stay at this hotel.

Cheap and cheerful in the heart of Montparnasse
This is a small, side street old style hotel, that for years only had one star becaue it didn't have a lift. It now has a new tiny lift. My wife's family, fluent French speakers, have stayed there many times on short visits and it's a good place for short visits from experienced Parisian travellers looking for something cheap and cheerful to save their money for sightseeing, shopping etc. The rooms are small and basic but if you're there to see the city, that's not an issue.

Unbelieveable staff assistance and warmth
Hotel personnel were so friendly! One ride with us to return our rental car so we would not get lost! Another young man made sure our breakfast ( and it was the best coffee I had in two weeks in France- and 2 LARGE cups) was ready early so we could meet our plane! Location AWESOME- loved this place in such a grea city! VIVE la France et les Francais!!

The Hotel Celtic is OK for an inexpensive room in the center of Paris-- clean, safe, good location, comfortable bed. The big problem was the incredibly poor internet service: though I got a nominal connection in my room, I could not even read my email, let alone handle any voice or websites with photos. Even in the lobby, the connection was not good enough to make a voice call by Skype. In the room, the main inconvenience was a half-size sink.
