Perfect location and beautiful old building!

Posted Nov 17, 2014
We stayed in two rooms for a family of 5. It was perfect! Always clean, the staff was always so nice and friendly.....they were very kind about the fact that I couldn't speak French! It was very close to the metro (which is a MUST in Paris) and within walking distance to Notre Dame/The Seine/The Louvre. I would stay here again and recommend it highly! The building was an old beautiful place that was kept very clean! It seemed that we were coming home every night we came back. Thankful for a great stay!

Web Site is deceiving

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Cons: The rooms wall paper, windows curtains, and elevator.
Location: Location was great.
This hotel was very disappointing. There is a one person elevator, the cook is the maintenance person a good way to save money. The rooms are very wore down, with wallpaper being held up with tacks and the curtains have stains that have been there for over ten years. The staff was nice. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms where clean.

Moderate rooms, could be n.oisey because of the students from the Sorbonne. Rooms small. Breakfast dissapointing

great location

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: does need some TLC decoration / furniture could be updated
Location: close to all the sites we wanted to see good access to the river taxi and metro, wonderful eating places
very good time staff attentive treated very well. We returned to Paris with old school friends to re visit all the sites that we saw some years ago. We stayed just up the road and wanted to be in the same area. The staff were very helpful with trips out and organising our return jouney to the airport. Anything we needed was given.

Great location

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Automatic lighting on stairs not quite fast enough. Make door less sticky to open and close.
Hotel Claude Berndard is in an excellent Latin Quarter location, very close to the Sorbonne, the Pantheon, the Cluny and lots of great walking areas, both in the 5th and 6th arrondissements. The Jardin des Plantes and Institute Arabe are also close by, and Notre Dame is just a few minutes away. My room was quite tiny, but I was alone in the room and only there for 2 nights, so it was fine. Tiny bathroom, but again adequate for just a night or two. The walls may be thin, or I had noisy neighbors, but not unbearably loud. The door stuck quite badly and I felt bad having to slam the door quite loudly just to get it closed. At about 218 Euros, it seemed expensive for the size of the room, but I don't know how similar rooms are priced.

I really don't want to say anything. Why doesn't this stupid feedback system realise this!

Pros: View out of window
Cons: Furniture old and mostly broken. Coffee machine very specialised and of no practical use no milk no tea making facilities. Beds very hard.
Location: Near metro and Seine, so was local
2 person lift too small for 2 ordinary people . Breakfast was very basic. Mattress we're thin and very hard making it very uncomfortable.

Good location but a hotel that needs renovation.

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Its location and the staff
Cons: Hotel needs renovating. Sound proofing the rooms would be top priority.
Location: Location good. Close to good food, shopping, The Pantheon. Boulevard San Michael. Notre Dame.
Room very small and it's location near the old lift well made it very noisy. Bathroom tiny and needing update.

Very nice hotel staff. Room was very clean and for a European hotel, it was very spacious and comfortable. Location is great, close to many restaurants, public transportation, sites. We would stay here again.

Nice hotel in the middle of Paris

Close to Subway, 150 mtr and close to lovely restaurants. Hotel was fine, love to stay here. Friendly staff. Only minus was lack of internet in our room despite wifi station at 10 mtrs.
