“don't stay here!”
Although this hotel is close to the metro & it's located in a good area, it is old, has no a/c & our room had a couple of cockroaches which made our stay even less pleasant.
“Nice and modest hotel”
The hotel is very modest. But everything you need is there. The room was clean. The bathroom is good but small. The location is very good. Very close to the metro station also not really noisy and nice neighbourhood.
“Okay for the Price”
This hotel was okay, but not great. It was pretty typical for a budget hotel in Europe. My biggest problem was we were told the breakfast was free and were then charged 7 euros for a few pieces of bread.
“Great hotel for the price!”
THe staff was absolutely great! When we got there our room wasn't ready but we were too tired to wander around so we just waited in the lobby and they clearly made sure our room was cleaned first because we got in within 30 minutes, so nice! They were also very friendly and easy to communicate with. Our room was also amazing. We had probably one of the best views of the Sacre Couer in the city. We had a lovely balcony and wonderful view. Really enjoyed this hotel! Room was a little small but not an issue since that's pretty typical in Paris. Very nice of them to provide Internet but wifi would have been nice. Also, TONS of boulangeries, patisseries, cafes and restaurants nearby and VERY close to moulin rouge. It's not far from Sacre Couer either. Overall excellent value!
“Not very good”
Walking into the hotel, it immediately looked like a small family operated hotel that feels like an apartment. The spiral staircases were small and there was minimal lighting on each level. The room is small and looking old (expected), and the door needs to be opened with a metal key that's heavy because of the metal plate attached to the key ring. There is free internet only at the lobby (not WIFI, and sometimes breaks down). Breakfast is OK, not much more to expect. We chose it mainly because it is close to the Gare Du Nore train station.
“Nothing fancy, but a great neighborhood”
This hotel was on super sale when I booked it, and some of the reviews made me a bit nervous, but all I really needed was a place to sleep so I wasn't too concerned and decided to book anyway. The hotel is in Montmarte, a really cool neighborhood near the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, etc. The staff was friendly and spoke English to us when we were polite enough to attempt French. The continental breakfast was nothing special, but the bakery across the street had the BEST BREAD EVER...it was goat cheese (chevre) and raison...one euro a loaf and one of the best things i ate there. All in all, the hotel was fine and served our purpose. They were doing some renovations on the floor we were staying on which kind of made everything smell like paint, but we were never there during the day long enough to be bothered by it. It wouldn't stop me from staying there again.
“Comfortable, Pleasant and Good Service”
The staff were very helpful, friendly and were accomodating with the language barrier. Hotel was clean & tidy, free internet service was great. Buffet breakfast was nice. Rooms and corridors are small in line with European Hotels. The hotel is not centrally located however it is close to the Metro (train service) and Hassman Bld is about 15 mins walk which is a major street.
“Great Location! St. Georges Metro right around the corner.”
How to begin? It is all about location, location, location! The hotel room was small but, I saw, smelled and heard a lovely dinner party right across the side street. Yes, there is lots of traffic noise but, it's not only cars, it's friends out walking and laughing and parents taking there children to school and kissing them goodbye for the day and an older French women on a bicycle with baggettes in her basket.Fresh crisp clean sheets every day.The breakfast was rolls, cereal, yogurt, toast, orange juice and the nice gentlemen who brought me tea and my husband coffee as soon as we came in.The elevator was just enough for my 6'4" husband and one large piece of luggage. It's the real deal, they plopped it in the central space of the spiral staircase.Eat dinner in the neighborhood, buy fruit at an open market. Walk up to Sacre Coeur at night for an unbelievable city view.We loved our Paris neighborhood for a week.
“If you are a night owl this is the place.”
The cars, trucks and motor cycles kept us up all night. Wonderful view though, small room for 4 people. Our luck, it was a heat wave, we could not sleep, we had the windows open because of the heat, and the street noise kept us up. But there was a flat screen tv, if you speak french thats great. The bathroom was small but thank goodness there was shower, that was nice. The breakfast was the same everyday, cereal, bread, yogurt and juice. The coffee was instant (no way) but it saved me a couple of Euros. The staff, I think family run, was nice. Unfortunately, no fridge in the rooms, they do have a computer, that was good. Some days the hallway smelled of sewer... and cigarette smoke. All in all the location was ok, close to Metro stations, but I guess I need a little bit more confort in my room.
“Neat Neighborhood”
Hotel is located in a very cool, classic "parisian" neighborhood. The street the hotel is located on is lined with unique cafes, markets, and some of the best little pastry shops. While the hotel is not right in the heart of all of the sights, there are 4 metro stops within a 5 minute walk which make everything easily accesible. The rooms are small and hot with no A/C-but which rooms aren't in Europe. The front desk staff was pleasant, however not very helpful as they didnt speak English, but with maps in the front lobby and the metro near by our group got by just fine without their help. We stayed 4 days and were there to see Paris, not hang out in the hotel, so this worked out just fine.
