Great Location
Posted Jan 27, 2012
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: decoration, load of stairs to room -no lift, lack of choice for breakfast
Location: The Tuilleries Gardens just across the road, close to Rue de Tivoli & Louvre
Great Location Our room was on the 4th floor with no lift (the lift could only be used for luggage) approx 88 steps up & down!!. Room very disapointing, holes in each of the lamp shades, electric sockets look dodgy. Hairdryer useless. The wall paper & decor - all needs painting. The breakfast only croissants, roll ,juice & drink same every day. The only good point is the fabulous handy location for everything. So if you are fit & only need to sleep here - ok.

Needs urgent update!

The best thing about this hotel was it's location! We stayed on the fourth floor - no elevator! We had to climb 84 steps each time. The furniture were in bad condition and the mattress was horrible.

Do not come here

Pros: Location
Cons: Staff, dirty, bad breakfast
Location: Only good thing
Only good thing is location - close to metro stop and louvre. Room: very small, which is expected in Paris but bathroom was not clean. The sheets also seemed old and dirty. No in-room safe as advertised. No air conditioning in the room- the fan was a portable one and did not rotate so unless you are traveling alone you are going to be very hot. Our room was facing the street and was very noisy early in the morning. The staff: the french lady at the desk which seemed to be the manager was the worst. Not helpful at all. This is not a place for tourists. They did not provide any useful information. The breakfast: only 4 pieces of bread, a little bit of butter and jam. 1 glass of juice and cup of coffee. It was served to you and if you wanted more juice or coffee you would be charged.

Lovely boutique hotel. A little shabby but in a chic Parsian way! Very clean and comfortable. AMAZING location. Staff were friendly.

Basic but characterful.

Good location. Quiet room apart from the lift at times. Okay size for one. Clean. Simple but adequate breakfast. Reasonable service. Old 19th century feel, faded charm. I liked it.

Aging, but clean, friendly & convenient
Posted Jan 19, 2011
Tucked behind the Grand Westin and only metres from the Louvre etc, this is a good base for a stay in Paris. The hotel rooms and furnishings are showing the signs of age, but they are clean, comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The elevator ride itself is worth the stay but be warned don't bring large suitcases if you are on an upper floor. Excellent value for money for Paris.

Small can be beautiful

Charming small hotel in the first arondissement excellently located and very clean. Very good value charging a quarter of the local four/five star hotels and the price includes breakfast and internet. For those of you on a budget, this hotel is excellent value for money and English is spoken by most of the staff.

Nice Place in a Nice Spot
Posted Jan 2, 2010
Hotel de la Tamise is located right in the heart of Paris in the 1st District, literally around the Place de la Concorde and the Lourve. It is also right across the street from Jardin des Tuileries. This spot in the city was a perfect spot to start my adventures around the city. The hotel itself is nothing overwhelmingly spectacular, but has everything you could ask for during a stay in Paris. There is a nice charm to the place and everything is clean and comfortable. The staff is also really nice and is also around to help. I would definitely stay here again if I ever get the chance to visit Paris again
