Perfect Location

Could not have picked a better location for a visit to Paris. The hotel was ideally located on rue Saint-Louis with a bakery, cheese shop, small grocery, chocolate shop and wonderful restaurants all along the street. The hotel staff was always pleasant and accommodating. They helped with dinner reservations, holding bags and airport transport. Rooms were snug but more than enough for sleeping and always very clean. The bathroom was quite generous and shower was fabulous. We could walk to just about anything from the hotel, particularly Notre Dame which we could see every morning from the corner cafe. Would highly recommend a stay at Hotel de Lutece.

Pleasant boutique Paris hotel perfect location

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Excellent location, very helpful staff.
Cons: The hotel is in a narrow, 7 floor, ancient building, and most rooms are quite small, but this could not be improved practically.
Location: Perfect location in the most scenic old part of Paris for simply walking about and soaking up the romance of the city of lights.
Our 3 night stay at Hotel de Lutece was very comfortable and pleasant. The hotel is splendidly located on Ile St Louis in the very center of the most scenic part of Paris, where we have always chosen to stay during our several visits to Paris over the years. Our room on the 6th floor (requiring a one flight walk up) was very well appointed but quite small. However, this was not a major concern for us since we were out and about in the city most of the time during our visit. There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance, including several of our favorites (Le Restaurant Paul on the Ile de la Cite, Place Dauphine, and L'Ilot Vache, a few blocks away). Ile St Louis seemed a bit more crowded and touristy than we remember it, but how can we complain if others like this spot in Paris as we do.

Oops... Room not available! They moved us, but....

Posted Oct 3, 2014
Pros: We remember that the rooms were small, but charming, but alas we never saw them this time! Great location, nice lobby, and accommodating staff.
Cons: We would have liked to have stayed in the hotel we booked! Had we known we would not be able to stay here, we may have made very different plans.
Location: Ile St. Louis is a charming island in the Seine, next to Notre Dame, near the metro, Left Bank, many museums, Luxembourg gardens, etc.
We booked the Hotel Lutece for our one night in Paris since we stayed here 26 years ago on our honeymoon. So, we were very excited about returning for a romantic evening. When we arrived (early at noon) to drop off our luggage and go out for lunch, the hotel staff explained to us that there was a "problem" with our room. They had our reservation that we had booked two months prior through Expedia, and we were logged into their "book." They would not tell us what sort of problem it was, but said that they were very sorry that it was not available, and that they had no other rooms to offer us, so we could not stay there that night. We explained that it was very special for us to stay that night, as we had stopped in Paris specifically to stay in their hotel; they were cordial and apologetic, but still had no other room for us. (BTW, we did stop by a few hours later and noticed two other couples checking in.). BUT they booked us a room in a 4* hotel a block away and covered all additional fees. They helped us move our luggage down to that hotel, were very friendly and helpful, and even offered us a coffee. We were of course disappointed, but the other hotel was nice and the room they gave us was fine, and we were trying to be reasonable about it. BUT, it was not exactly what we had in mind.

Fantastic location!

Pros: location, staff, cleanliness
Location: Notre Dame, walking along the Seine, restaurants, shopping
This hotel is located in a great location. The staff were very helpful and were keen to provide assistance. The 24 hour Reception is a real bonus for such a small hotel.

The worst room I have ever stayed in

Posted Jul 31, 2014
The hotel is in a great location but the room was truly grim. I had booked a room for 2 adults and a child The child's bed and the miniscule shower room and loo were down a flight of stairs and the child was petrified to go there The space next to the loo was so small that I cannot see how anyone over 5ft 10 could use it. .The double bed (the smallest I have seen) was against a wall because the room was so narrow that was the only way the bed would fit in. I think the bedroom must have been corverted from a corridor because although it was tiny it had stairs everywhere There was no furniture to speak of - a total rip off although I wonder if that room would have been even offered on a direct booking all this and it wasn't even very (cheap 255 euros) I have photos
