Great hotel for the pricePosted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Most of them spoke English, and were willing to help with directions, the subway system, and taxis.
Cons: The wifi. They charged 5 euro for the week, but often I could only access my e-mail and sometimes the internet would cut out.
Location: Grocery stores (Dia and Carrefour), pharmacy, Mcdonald's, lots of cafés and restaurants, major Métro stops (Parmentier and République)
I had a really nice time at Hotel de Nemours. It was in an okay area of Paris...very close to a major Métro stop, but I wouldn't have wandered around there at night. Nice little cafés nearby, a grocery store right across the street, and a Mcdonald's by the Métro stop (for the people who aren't looking for a French culinary extravaganza). The Métro stop (Parmentier) was less than a 5 minute walk away and made it very easy to get to the center of Paris. The wifi was a little spotty, but it worked. I'm still glad I paid for it. The price was what drew me to this hotel, and I was definitely not disappointed. It exceeded my expectations.

small elevatorPosted May 5, 2014
It is a budget hotel like many in other European cities like London or Rome. What makes this hotel special is the size of the elevator. If you arge bigger I would not recomend the hotel. I have a 36 waist size and me and a suitcase with a bag pack just fit in. So if you are budget minded and think you fit in the elevator it is an OK hotel. The location really does not mater because you always will be on the metro.

Clean hotel but too smallPosted May 31, 2013
Rooms are way to small even for Europe standards. Elevator is way too small and fits one person at a time with hardly any room for even one bag of luggage

Stairs againPosted Dec 10, 2012
Pros: Location, but unfortunately none of the locals knew where it was, even the bakery on the corner!
Cons: Stairs with lots of luggage
Location: Close to metro
Pity the lift could only fit one person, very difficult for people with poor mobility, eg the elderly or small children. Would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in rooms. Our bathroom had been renovated but the hall way wall backing onto it was still very damp and smelly, inside the room was not damp or smelly.

Good position, mediocre hotel.Posted Jul 17, 2012
Pros: Position and local amenities
Cons: Tiny, noisy and barely clean.
Tiny room, with an exceptionally narrow bed for my 6' 2" frame. The nearby lift and banging of room doors kept me awake both late at night and in the early morning. The room was barely clean; the carpet was not cleaned at all during my 5 night stay, and the bed was not made properly, only the cover was tidied . On the positive side this hotel is very near to several different metro lines and has good local shops, cafes and market. This was my third stay at Nemous but possibly my last. Not an improving hotel.

You get what you pay for (and what you ask for)Posted Jul 9, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel was the cheapest that met our needs of being near three major train stations in Paris. The lack of maintenance and number of broken fixtures, and less than fastidious cleaning were therefore no surprise. But our beds were scrupulously clean, and the room met our needs, so all this was fine. We stayed twice in two weeks, and on the second week were unable to use the shower in our first room - partly down to a confusing switch between the labelling on the hot and cold taps, and also down to a shower head that did not stay in place. This was not fine, and we were frustrated when the reception was unable to do anything about it on the evening of our check-in. But when the owner was in the next morning he quickly gave us a new room and the rest of our stay was smooth. So, while physically the hotel is definitely what you'd expect from its price, the service is at least capable of making up for the shortfalls we saw in that regard.

Hotel de NemoursPosted Dec 15, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel was small but very clean. The bathroom was great there was hot water. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There was no free wifi. The lift was very small which causes a problem if your on the fifth floor, like i was. It isn't very close to any of the main attractions but the train is very close which makes traveling the city very easy. Staff was very helpful in giving directions and the easiest way to get to attractions. Over all a great experience.

A decent price for ParisPosted Nov 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel is a little out of the way, but it is walking distance from basically any point in the city (Paris is so spread out that everything is a long walk). The staff was always available and spoke English. The room only had one chair, but you really just need a place to sleep.
