Such a quiet night's sleep - in a lively city areaPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Quiet night's sleep but very close to walk or Metro to all the sights of Paris. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely decoration and stairs.
Cons: Provision of tea and coffee-making facilities - if not in the rooms, then in the pleasant little lounge, where there are free newspapers.
Location: In the heart of Montmatre - lots of nice restaurants, bars and cafes; short walk to Montmatre museum, Place du Tertre, close to Metro for all Paris.
Great location within easy walk of Metro stations (Blanche on line 2, Abbesses on line 12 and Pigalle on lines 2 and 12). Very pleasant hotel with friendly, helpful staff (who speak a range of languages). Amazingly quiet rooms - hard to believe you're in the heart of Montmatre, just a stone's throw from the Moulin de la Galette (which you can see at the end of the street). Hotel layout is a bonus as there are only four rooms each side of the stairwell/lift - which means you don't get lots of noisy people walking past your room late at night (or early in the morning). Also very short walk to Sacre Coeur and Moulin Rouge. Good breakfast for Paris (where normal breakfast is just coffee and maybe a croissant!) - cereals, toast, baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolat, jams, hard-boiled egg, teas and coffee. Would have given 5 stars for everything if there were provision for hot drinks in the lounge or in the rooms (I know this is unusual in Paris but it would be nice to be able to have a late night hot drink - especially when the standard price for tea and coffee at one of the many local bars is around 4 euros) Highly recommend - in fact, have already booked again for a week in January!

The staff really are brilliant!Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was great, the kitchen staff make sure everything is alright
Cons: TV channels - I would rather see TF1 etc than BBC World!
Location: Good location. Be sure to ask on how to get from Gare du Nord station to the local Blanche metro station. Thanks for the advice Juliette!
I wasn't expecting too much from this hotel - in my experience hotels in art districts have a rather pretentious air about them, but this hotel is one of the best I have stayed at. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Whatever question I asked about places to see and visit was answered in a detailed manner. The hotel itself is fine. Not the most luxurious hotel I have stayed at but certainly comfortable (the first night I slept 10hours solid and nearly missed breakfast!)

Comfortable hotel in good locationPosted Nov 8, 2013
Pros: Clean, comfortable, good location, friendly staff
Cons: Tea making facilities in room
Location: This was Paris! Everything was within a Metro ride.
We had three nights in Les Arts which was clean and comfortable. Although tea and coffee was available downstairs in the breakfast room, it would have been nice to have tea making equipment in the room. The breakfast was more than ample and the tables cleared immediately. All the staff were very friendly.

Excellent hotel...and excellent locationPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Location and price
Cons: For me, as a solo traveller, it was excellent..... a little more option for breakfast would be nice.
Location: Centre of Montmartre.....metro station is Abesses...Place du Tertre (Artists square) nearby... Claion des Chasseur cafe very nice (Jazz guiter after 9
This was my second visit to the Hotel des Arts...and I would highly recommend it. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable...and the Hotel has a pleased arty style to the decor. The value for money is excellent, especially when you see the prices that other, less desirable, hotels are charging in the same area.

Well placed hotel in Montmartre, excellent staffPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: see above
Cons: More electrical outlets.
Location: The hotel is close to two metro stations, numerous restaurants and the Moulin Rouge.
In some ways this is a typical Paris hotel with small rooms and a tiny elevator, but the rooms, with the name of a different French artist on each door, are colorful, clean, and more than adequate for a few days in the City of Light. Most of all it is the staff that excels. Juliette, the chief desk clerk/concierge, not only knows whatever you want to know, but is a "real person" that you can talk to like someone you've known for awhile. If you need to sleep in after a long day and a late night, the cleaning staff will accommodate you. The continental breakfast comes with the price of admission and, yes, the wifi comes without additional cost. The next time I am in Paris I will stay at the Hotel des Arts.
