Paris with joie de vivrePosted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Its proximity, cleanliness and friendliness are things that would certainly take me back to it.
Cons: Everything I used was fine. I did not take the breakfast (as plenty of cafes around) nor try its internet so I do not know if these were a problem?
Location: In addition to restaurants and bars it had boulangeries, street music (during the day on Sunday), and a generally pleasant feel to wile away the day.
This hotel is in the 7th Arrondissement and is close to Rue Cler which has a good mix of restaurants and café/bars. It is a great place to people watch during the day and lively at night but, I would emphasise, without being noisy nor disturbing of the neighbourhood. From the hotel, approx. 50 yards away, you could not hear it. Everything was clean, the shower was excellent, the room well decorated and the bed was huge! The staff spoke excellent English and were very attentive. The service in the restaurants we visited, as well as the food, were over and above our experience on our last visit to Paris in 2010. Whilst I tentatively tried my French in these eateries I was presented with confidently spoken English in reply and a friendly manner. I timed my visit for the Prix de l'Arc de triomphe race meeting and whilst it was perhaps busier as a result we still always found somewhere to eat or sit to drink our café au lait.

Nice place, clean and updated, nice area.Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: clean room, nice neighborhood, staff, comfortable bed, has air conditioning and you can control the temp inside your room
Location: Rue Cler (just google it), Eiffel tower within walking distance, near metro station
If you are looking for a place to stay with clean rooms, nice neighborhood and don't mind a small room this is a good choice. The staff are helpful they all speak English and very accommodating, (specially Emelie). When we arrived around 2pm our room was ready and was able to check in. As expected the room we got was a bit tiny, but it was not an issue for us. The room is always clean when we got back to our room after a day of site seeing. The room is quiet even though our room was facing the street corner of Champ de Mars and Rue Cler. Speaking of Rue Cler, this area is where dine almost every night, food is great compared to other place in Paris, though a bit expensive but we are in Paris after all. it is also close to a Metro station (Ecole Militare) very convenient. We love this place!

Nice hotel in a great locationPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness and helpful staff
Location: The location is a huge plus - walking distance to Invalides, lots of good restaurants nearby, but it's not noisy.
We spent three nights in the Hotel Cadran and would recommend it highly. Considering hotels in Paris are notoriously tiny, it is fairly spacious with a nice bathroom and the location is great. It is very clean and modern and there are plenty of supermarkets nearby. We tried several of the great little restaurants just downstairs and the food was good, with plenty of locals eating there. We were very impressed with the helpful reception staff, who were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great Location, Solid HotelPosted Jul 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Hotel du Cadran is in a great location a very short walk from the Eiffel Tower. Easy access to several Metro stops, but if you are so inclined you can walk to many things including many of the top museums and sites. There is good shopping close by for everything from food to clothes to fine stationary and fine pens. There is also a vast selection of many restaurants close by serving both french classics as well as other cuisine. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for anything, but frankly, we really didn't ask for much. The design of the hotel is nice and consistent with the pictures. The WiFi worked well and was free. Only negatives were: 1. the noise that comes through the doors is loud. This is both coming from the hall, when you are in the room and coming from the rooms when you are in the hall. 2. Our 4 AM wake up call to catch our flight was 15 min late and I can't imagine the guy at the desk had a lot going 3. There was not one non-News international station in English on TV. The only English stations were CNN, CNBC, Al Jazeera English and BBC news. All news all the time was all that was available and frankly all those stations were covering exactly the same thing. Would I stay there again? Maybe but I would investigate others of the many hotels in the area as the location was the hotel's true value.

Our Great experience at Hotel du CardanPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: A very friendly and helpful staff, and very nice breakfast at a reasonable price jut a elevator ride away.
Cons: It was plain to see that the Hotel had recently been renovated. It was clean, modern and comfortable.
Location: Hotel du Cardan was close to the Metro stop, Eiffel Tower and Cafe's and markets.
From the time we walker into the door the staff was helpful, friendly and ready to see to our needs. We were there three hours prior to check in time and the stored our luggage and gave us a map of things to do while waiting to official check in

Nice hotel in excellent area.Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Clean hotel with nice staff and air conditioning.
Location: Excellent location in a residential area just far away enough from the hustle & bustle but within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower.
The hotel is within a short walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and Seine. Rue Cler is a block away with many sidewalk cafes, an excellent bakery/pastry shop, cheese shop, and numerous other shops catering to local residents as well as tourists. A true Parisian experience! A dinner at Reeds (a few blocks away on Rue Amelie) is a must! It is a small restaurant (reservations recommended) run by chef Catherine Reed. Ms. Reed teaches cooking classes by day and cooks/operates the small 5 table restaurant entirely by herself in the evenings. Food was fantastic and Ms. Reed a pleasure to visit with!
