Great location but rooms need major renovations.

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Pros: Staff and location.
Cons: Renovate and do not sell rooms as view rooms
The staff is excellent and the hotel location is also excellent. We paid extra for a view room which had NO view and the room itself was tiny and very worn.

excellent central location

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: central location
Cons: Generally the room needed a makeover and bit more attention to cleanliness in bathrooms
Location: Perfectly central to take in all the historical and must see places in Paris
Very good overall experience, very professional and attentive staff that should be commended for there attention to detail, excellent breakfast. Whilst uncommon for late October into early November the weather was an absolute bonus 21/22 degrees.

Friendly hotel right next to The Louvre

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: Warm feel , beautiful staircase at entrance. Juliette balcony and view. Brasserie.
Cons: Carpets and shower a little dated but adequate and did not detract from such a beautiful Parisean hotel
Location: Next door to The Louvre. A beautiful walk through the Jardin des Tulleries up to the Arch de Triomphe .
Found hotel on Expedia . One night stay for my daughters 21st after travelling oin Eurostar from London. Hotel was easy to find , close to bars , cafes Excellent location for The Louvre and Notre Dame and it was worth seeing both main sites both at day and it was more magical lit up at night. As soon as reception heard of the birthday celebration we were upgraded to a suite on the 4th floor at no extra charge - a gesture that we will remember as part of the overall celebrations for a lifetime. The view overlooking the Louvre from a juliette balcony was wonderful . Whilst have to say some of the hotel is a little dated the service of the staff made up for this ( I had forgotten my charger and the concierge immediately found one for me at no extra charge) . The evening was memorable dining in the hotel's Brasserie - with Kir Royale and steak au poivre . Excellent service and gorgeous food.

Central location

Posted Oct 25, 2014
Pros: The location and the staff. Nothing was too much effort.
Cons: The room was tired but elegant.
Location: Location was excellent: the Louvre was next door, the Seine next door to that, the Rue de Rivoli outside, restaurants just a stroll away.
Great location: next to the Louvre, and within walking distance of everywhere. If you don't want to walk, the Metro is next door.

Friendly staff. Unbeatable central Paris location. Clean rooms, but just a little worn. Would book this hotel again.

Wow, perfect place to stay in Paris.

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: The room (quite large), the bathroom, with a full bath and shower. Free wi-fi was a plus, meaning your smart phone will connect to the internet.
Cons: It could be cheaper, but this is Paris after all.
Location: The Louvre Museum is across the street. The Orsay museum is less than a kilometer away on the other side of the Seine. Notre Dame is a good walk.
The Hotel Louvre, although an older hotel was in immaculate condition, the room was large (by European standards), the staff was friendly. Our view of the street adjacent to the Louvre Museum was splendid, and provided a nice view in eac direction. The temp of the room was easily controlled, and the flat screen TV and free wi-fi made the stay very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was nicely done, and consisted of an assortment of fresh breads, croissants, cheeses, fruits, meats, cereals and bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs. Of course, tea or coffee was provided free of charge with the buffet. The4 dining room was large and well lit, with an excellent view of the Comedie Francaise across the street. The charis and tables were small, by American standards, but it wasn't uncomfortable. The proximity to the Louvre Museum, Orsay Museum, Picasso Museum, the Seine, and Notre Dame Cathedral made travelling around to these sites simple. October can be a rainy period in Paris, but we were lucky in that the rain missed us completely and the temp was in the mid 60's for the entire trip. Overall, a great stay at a wonderful hotel, and one where we hope to come back again and again.

AMAZING stay in Paris

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Customer service, cleanliness, location, restaurant and bar/lounge
Cons: some areas of the hotel need renovation, but still very charming.
Location: Located in the center of Paris, walking distance to EVERYTHING, with the metro right outside.
I just had an AMAZING stay at the Hotel du Louvre for a long weekend where I proposed to my girlfriend (now Fiancee!) The hotel is beautiful and located in the perfect part of town, convenient to everything. The concierge staff was incredibly helpful for dinner reservations and with any questions I had. Jeremie, the Guest Relation Manager, went above and beyond by setting up a very ROMANTIC proposal w/ champagne and roses. The room very spacious w/ a newly renovated bathroom and VERY comfortable King size bed. The maid service cleaned 2X daily. The bar in the hotel, Le Defender Bar, was very intimate and decorated beautifully. We ate at the restaurant one night, Le Louvre, which was one of our favorite meals. Everything was just perfect and I could not ask for a better stay in Paris. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting!

Fantastic location, so-so amenities

Posted Sep 5, 2014
This was our first trip to Paris and I wanted to be sure it went off without a problem so I stuck with a name, Hyatt, that I knew. Overall it was a good hotel and I'd stay there again. It's advertised as a "luxury" hotel but the amenities and state of the hotel don't seem to match that label. Pros: -The hotel is right next to the Louvre. Our room's view was overlooking part of the structure. Walking there took maybe 5 minutes. -The toilet and shower offered plenty of pressure and the shower had tons of hot water. -Stepping outside the hotel you are less than a block from an ATM, convenience store, several cafés and souvenir shopping. -It's only about a 15-20 minute taxi ride to the train station. Around €10 as I write this. Cons: -One of the reasons I chose this hotel was their offer for a king-sized bed. It was a king box spring with two twin mattresses so sleeping next to each other wasn't always comfortable. -All European hotels seem to use the same shower stall that covers half the tub. It's inevitable that water is going to get outside the tub. -I don't know if they were having plumbing problems on our floor but stepping off the elevator there was a distinct odor of urine for part of the hall. It was there all three days of our stay.

Reach Out and Touch the Louvre

Great Hotel- Room initially was too small but the manager was fabulous-she changed us to a larger room for the same rate! Comfortable older hotel with great concierge, good housekeeping and lots of atmosphere. It is a great hotel to stay at if you are looking to do the Louvre for a couple days. They can also give you tickets to the Louvre so you can bypass standing in the line to get in.
