Great location, great staffPosted Jul 28, 2014
Cons: Have "Garance" on the sign of the hotel will be good.
Very convenient to metro, bus, train station, and many restaurants. The reception area looks very small and not well lit, but the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The room is small, but very clean and newly remodeled. Be aware there is no name of the hotel on the sign outside, but only "hotel".

Great LocationPosted Jul 28, 2014
Easy access to all the sites in Paris. The staff is friendly, knowledgable & helpful. Our room was cosy & clean. Metro is a 3 minute walk. Lots of cafés & open air markets near by. Check out Rue Moffetard. It is a 5 minute walk. Excellent shopping for cheese, charcuterie, baguettes, pastries, fresh fruit & wine etc. Lots of cafés to choose from. It felt like we were living in a real Parisan neighbourhood. Not touristy. I would happily stay at Hotel Garance again!

Loved this placePosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Great rooms and bathrooms.
Cons: Don't get assigned the room right off the reception desk!
Location: Walking from the hotel to the Gare de Lyon I happened upon a Chinese massage studio, with 1-hr massages for only 40 euros! It was great.
I highly recommend the hotel. The room and bathroom were fantastic. Nice breakfast. My only problem is that I got the short straw and got assigned the worse room in the hotel...literally 2 steps from the reception desk, so of course I heard all the guests coming and going, and it was the lowest floor so my window looked out onto a grimy-looking service area...it was claustrophobic. I guess someone has to get assigned the worst room of the hotel. Anyone else getting rooms on the actual guest floors had a view onto Les Gobelins, which is a nice street and the location in Paris is really good. I walked to Gare de Lyon with my bags in 30 min, saving all the god-awful steps in the old Metros.

Smaller than expectedPosted May 31, 2014
The lobby was smaller than expected, and only one elevator was available. For the price I paid, we should have expected free breakfast, but we had to pay for breakfast. the hotel itself was small, with a beautiful interior; but still very small for the price we paid.

Great Staff and location to metroPosted May 25, 2014
Pros: close to metro, size and staff.
This is a lovely boutique hotel, with an exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very nice, clean and quiet. It would be nice to have a more robust breakfast, perhaps more fruit, soft or hard boiled eggs.

Great little gem close to Notre DammePosted May 24, 2014
Pros: Everything about it was great, good value for money.
Cons: Nothing it was great.
Location: There a really nice boulangerie close to the hotel as well as a lovely indian restaurant, supermarkets, and a McDonalds
We stayed here for 5 days. It was out first trip to Paris and apart from the journey in, we managed to walk pretty much everywhere. We made regular walks to the Zoo and then continuing down the Senne until we reached Notre Damme. We had one of the top rooms with a balcony overviewing the balcony - it was very authentic. The decor of the room is very "modern" but it also gives you a warming sense of comfort. The staff were very, vey nice - especially the receptionists.

ok but not a great valuePosted May 11, 2014
nice enough small hotel. the cost/value proposition isn't really great. all rooms in paris are small, everything in paris is pricey. still, while it's an ok place it just isn't anything special.
