Excellent place to stayPosted Dec 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
I thoroughly enjoyed my week in Paris at this hotel. The staff were fantastic, my room was very nice and the location was perfect. I walked everywhere from the hotel.

So sad to be disappointed...Posted Oct 9, 2012
Cons: Working order of the room & assistance
Cute & charming, however, it is not well-kept. I discovered that the blow dryer in my room didn't work, (after my hair was already wet!). Of course, there was not a working one available (the guy at the desk claimed that once the maid left for the day, the closet was locked, & he had no access, so I had to go to another room to dry my hair!) In addition, the faucet in the bathroom was so loose, I thought it would fall out of the sink any minute. In the headboard, there is supposed to be a light. However, in my room, the light was gone, & it was just a dirty hole left in the headboard. Obviously, I knew this wasn't a luxury hotel when I booked, but simple things one would expect (a shower cap, a drinking cup, hair conditioner) were not to be found. Also, the desk personnel could have been more helpful. For example, when I asked for assistance w/ making a dinner reservation, the guy asked ME to give him the number of the restaurant, as if he couldn't look it up online on the computer sitting on the desk right next to him! For several questions I asked, two different desk attendants told me that they were "new" and they didn't know what to do... I have no idea if the air conditioning worked in my room or not. I attempted to use it, but nothing worked. In the room, no directions are provided - how to use WIFI, how to dial the front desk. It's too bad the service/condition of this hotel weren't great, because it is actually quite charming. I was definitely disappointed...

Quirky hotel with a brilliant location - loved it!Posted Sep 2, 2012
Pros: It's location was brilliant, it is really close to a trendy area of boutiques and fabulous restaurants (la rue veille du temple)
Cons: There wasn't a safe in the room, you had to put your valuables into a collective hotel safe which didn't feel as secure
Location: Amazing location, all the main attractions are walk-able and there are some great restaurants and boutiques nearby
The style of the hotel was quirky and pretty, with interesting paintings on the walls and contrasting colours but also with modern furniture so it didn't feel old fashioned. The rooms had everything that you would need, the shower was very cool, it was powerful and also with a massage setting. There was also a nice television with a range of channels which we made use of after a long day of walking around. Furthermore, although the hotel is quite central there was a small amount of noise, although at the time there was road works going on, but they didn't really start until the afternoon. There was also air-conditioning which was very useful that weekend! We didn't eat the breakfast there but bought pastries from the Boulangerie down the road which was very handy and very French. Overall I loved the Hotel Jaques du Molay it wasn't your usual large chain hotel - it had a lot of character. The location was the best thing about it as well as the homey feel to the rooms. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great 3 star hotel.Posted Jul 20, 2012
The hotel is in a brilliant location, with lovely staff and although the rooms are basic, no kettle or bath, it has everything you need. Good gym, nice to burn of that rice french food. Will stay again.

We loved this quaint little hotel.Posted Apr 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is located in a quiet section of the Marais, but only a few blocks from a Metro stop. There is a nice corner bistro to enjoy a baguette and coffee and watch the world roll by. Our room was comfortable and cute. There was a pane of glass missing in the shower door, which presented some inconvenience, but otherwise the hotel is very well maintained and the staff were very helpful. I would stay here again.

First Paris Experience....... ses merveilleuxPosted Jan 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
Where do I begin....first time to Paris, wanted a clean, safe, fun space and The Jacques De Molay was exactly that. Friendly and helpful, kind staff, great information to give. Wonderful continental Bfast, workout room a BIG PLUS, cabs avail and The Marais is a perfect , low key local. Would recommend in a heart beat. Go and enjoy, you won't be disappointed for the location and price and quaint experience. Yay!!!

Paris - done.Posted Jan 10, 2012
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Lack of coat hooks. Simple thing but in winter would have been great especially given small amount of cupboard space.
Location: Good. We found it very central and easy to walk to all attractions.
Overall good. Staff really friendly and helpful. Good location.

Ummmm yeeahhhhPosted Dec 29, 2011 on Hotels.com
So, there's ZERO point in having a Do Not Disturb sign on your door because the maid will just bardge her way in anyway while your laying in bed and she'll clean it while you're gone.... when you still have the sign up. NO POINT. They stuck me in the smallest room they had... probably because they knew they could and I wasn't going to say anything (my fault). It was old but clean. /: Still felt dirty though. The bathroom faucet leaked while it was running so I had to wrap a towel around the base of it (which the maid took everytime she unallowingly cleaned my room). The shower door was broken so water went everywhere when I took a shower (rusty water too, but I think that's all I Paris. Old plumbing). There was a screeeammming child in the next room over (not really the hotels fault, but they knew what room that family was in and stuck me right next to them). You can hear evvvveryythingg throughout the hotel. Makes it really hard to sleep or watch non-English soeaking channels (that really sucked). The gym is OK, it did the job. The staff was helpful when it came to me trying to navigate around the city. So that was nice. However, upon checkout my card went on fraud lock because they swipped it too many times and instead of them charging my card when I could unlocked it (my cab was waiting and I had a train to catch) they had one of there employees (who was dressed in sweats) run me over to the ATM and get cash out. It was weird, sketchy, and unprofessional. Not to mention, the cab was charging me by the second after the hotel employee assured me several times that he wasn't charging, he was graciously waiting (what a crock). I finally got out to the cab and when I realized head charging I told the employee. He said he'd have the hotel pay for my cab. (I knew they had the cash, I just gave them xxx €). I waited x € later and just told the driver to go. I'd say my experience at hotel de molay was less than average. I would NOT stay here. The bad outweighs the good by too much.

Hotel de Molay - great locationPosted Oct 31, 2011 on Hotels.com
My single room was small - but not smaller than my double room in New York. The bathroom is comfortable (essential bath). The people are nice - I would go back

Nice room, good locationPosted Apr 21, 2011
I had a good sized comfortable double room with exposed roof beams and an intrresting bathroom with excentric pumbing. There was efficient and silent air-conditioning. TV with CNN and BBC World, and fast free WIFI. There was no in room safe. The hotel is convienient for the Metro, and is a good base for exploring the Marais district on foot.
