“Charming Boutique Hotel”

The hotel is in a perfect location in Paris, not in a crowded tourist area, but is close to lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel is also steps away from the Metro and down the street from the Eiffel tower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small but that is to be expected in Paris. Very clean and charming. The only complaint I would have is that they use cheap tissues and toilet paper (feels like sandpaper). If we return to Paris again, my husband and I would definitely stay at Le Walt.

“Best Sleep in a Hotel I have Ever Had”

The staff was more than helpful when it came to asking questions about getting around and what to do. The cleanliness of the room was more than impressive. The tub was sparking clean that I would actually sit in the tub when I am normally turned off to do in a hotel. There was a towel warmer in the bathroom as well and it just added an extra comfort level for my stay. I will definitely recommend this hotel for anyone. It is like a 5min walk to the Eiffel Tower and literally 3 steps away from a train station. You can't ask for more.

Dining
Le Jules Verne at the Effifel Tower was beyond amazing. The cost is high up there but well worth it for the view, service and food quality. It will not disappoint.

“Generally satisfied.”

Overall,half of the staff were friendly and the other not so helpful . Great location near a Metro and the Tour Eiffel.

“Best location in Paris”

I absolutely loved this hotel mostly because of the perfect location. The neighborhood is wonderful, safe, and charming with a post office to buy stamps, ATM machines, grocery store, fruit markets, great restaurants and the metro all within steps from the front door. They gave us an upgrade to an executive room because of our anniversary. There is free wifi in the hotel, and the toiletries are first rate. They even have washcloths! We will stay at the Le Walt every time we go back to Paris. There is no reason to stay anywhere else.

Area recommendations
Rue Cler is a great spot to enjoy people watching.

“Highly recommend”

This was our first trip to Paris and Hotel le Walt was in a great location, provided impeccable service, and was very helpful...in spite of our lack of French speaking skills. The Metro was only a few steps away, grocery store, pastry store, pharmacy also within in minutes. The room was on the street and construction/repairs started at 8AM...but we were up and gone most of the day so it was not an issue. We would return to this hotel but would request a garden room versus street side.

Area recommendations
The Rue Cler area was around the corner and provided ample shopping, eating, and sitting and watching the world go by. Being close to the Metro was very helpful...and walking to the Eiffel Tower was easy.

“I would stay here again”

“Would recommend but with a few reservations”

My 12 y.o.daughter & I did get early check in at noon, not 3 pm (so fun Eiffel Tower trip & great b'fast at La Terasse), despite the hotel being totally booked. Our king bed was fabulous. The bathroom was beautiful, water pressure, perfect, free wifi, hugely helpful, towel warmer, a treat, & L'Occitane products, nice! Very clean & quiet room! Housekeepers were so friendly. Altho' we did NOT get a view of La Tour Eiffel, we enjoyed a quaint view of back courtyard & Parisienne Mansard rooftops from 6th floor. Hotel Le Walt is superbly situated! One could not ask for a better location, truly. It was very warm & sunny for our 4 day stay. Negatives: A/C did not work well: 28 degrees centigrade=low 80s Farenheight, bad at night even with all of the windows open. Once we told the concierge, she IMMEDIATELY called a lovely employee at the hotel, an older gentleman who was very solicitous. He was quickly up to try to fix it & seemed personally upset by room temp! He brought us a large stand-alone fan that actually remedied the problem. The only troubling issue was with 2 of the female concierges. Can't say cold, but the courtesy, so forced at times! Such a shame. Despite my use of French, they were NOT the warm staffers I'd read in reviews. Jet-lagged, my daughter burst in tears once we got in the room, feeling as tho she had bothered her. The male concierge we encountered was lovely, like EVERY other Parisiene we'd met. 1st impressions DO count - don't they get this?

Area recommendations
Area in the 7eme Arrondissement near the hotel, especially Rue Cler/Rue St Dominique for fromageries, artisinal boulangeries and patisseries!! Food selection in the surrounding areas was phenomenal and alwyas worth it!
Dining
I do speak some French (but not so fluently anymore!), so dining out was always easy and so many great places right in the immediate vicinity of Hotel Le Walt! Having La Terrasse across the street (with English "subtitled" menus for my daughter) & VERY accomodating waiters was a huge plus. A perfect jambon et fromage omelette was the best we'd had. The brasserie adjacent to the hotel, "Comptoir du Sept," was also fabulous and always packed with Parisienes! They also have English subtitled menus. Their food was a notch above La Terrasse in some respects, maybe bistro vs brasserie is the resaon. My daughter ordered a simple 5 cheese ravioli entree at "Comptoir" and it was amazing, accompanied by a beautiful salad and a generous wedge of gourmet cheese. Even the two young Parisiene men at the next table commented on the presentation! That says a lot! My salad Nicoise was the most colorful one I'd ever seen in my life - artfully presented, with purple shredded cabbage, orange peppers, bright red tomatos, along with the fresh greens, the yellow & white hard boiled eggs, and the green beans - just magnificent. There is also a lovely little (Greek) creperie on Rue Cler that seemed to cater to locals only that was another "hidden treasure." Father making crepes in front, out doors (take away business too), Mother, chef a la Maison, and lovely teenaged son as the waiter. Just superb. The Carrefour supermarket was such a convenience, especially for a picnic lunch.

“very well impressed”

very good impression and nice small hotel. I could come back, if I have to go again in Paris

Area recommendations
the area is very good, close to the Tour Eiffel, and to the "rive gauche" with a 15 minutes walking. There is also a metro station in front of the hotel, and nice restaurant in front of the hotel...In this area you can find a nice part of Paris, and to live some atmosphere different from Pigalle, or Montmartre, or Place Vendome, but very nice.
